Three Troubled Singers

[Blind Gossip] These three female singers are all having the same problem at the same time!

All three are currently solo artists, all three have experienced enormous success in their careers… and all three are having trouble filling performance venues.

We’re talking about hundred or thousands of empty seats at some performances where you can buy a ticket for as little as $20-50! If they are depending on their tours to make money, they need to reevaluate what they are doing.

We’ve talked before about options for filling the venues: discounted tickets, free tickets, closing off some sections, etc.

Now let’s talk about options for actually cancelling the performances: venue problems, production problems, illness, injury, family crisis, pregnancy (or “pregnancy”).

Lots of options there!

Or maybe they could team up and form a mini version of the Spice Girls? Now that would be interesting…

    I agree with alot of the answer here, It a combination of different things why these singers are struggling with sales. Oversaturation – you flat out get sick of seeing them everywhere, Overpriced ticket with weak performances, you usualy bring a friend to a show and with all the add on fees they charge there goes easily $200 not including parking and grabbing a bite to eat so add another $100 – weak shows dont justify $300

    I’m guessing Beyonce is one of them because I heard her tour wasn’t selling. I don’t know who else but definitely not Taylor Swift. Her tour is apparently breaking records and getting incredible reviews.

    Shania Twain, Christina Aguilera, and Mariah Carey

    A common answer is Janet Jackson, but she is already playing smaller venues, and I saw her a few months back in St. Louis, and the venue was sold out.

    Lady Gaga already cancelled what was left of her underperforming tour in February. Madonna is not currently on tour, but when she does, she is still able to sell out stadiums at premium prices.

    Ok, so they are currently solo artists so they were in a group before. That cancels out Taylor, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson, Britney, Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga.

    I’m going to guess Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani. Maybe Camila Cabello as the third?

    Gwen Stefani (formerly of No Doubt)
    Mariah Carey (did a co-headlining tour with Lionel Richie last year)

    All are trying to sell tickets “currently solo”, all are struggling.

    And boo to anyone who guessed Taylor, who’s doing an all-stadium tour and *adding* shows. Yes, she gave some discounted tickets to the Irish Girl Guides in the UK (not exactly her home base), but that’s hardly the same thing. And she’s always been a solo act.

    Three Singers: Gwen Stefani (her gig for tomorrow night the 11th is completely open and it looks like they closed off the top section)
    Beyonce (already known to be giving away tickets)
    JLo (her next show on 9/2 same as Gwen completely open)

    [Optional] What will each of the singers do? Gwen family issues, Beyonce pregnancy (looks like she’s already going that route, JLo maybe vocal issues even though she can’t sing IMO.

    I don’t know who all of them are, but one is definitely Taylor Swift. Her tour has been under-performing so far.

      Each of her dates have been reported as sold out and each date has grossed over 7 million US-dollars on average.

      The tour is making mad numbers

    Taylor Swift: She’ll suddenly become “ill”
    Beyonce: Start hinting towards another “pregnancy” to get people to her shows with Jay Z

    1) Mariah Carey is struggling to sell out her Las avegas shows.
    2) Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have been recently reported to have been giving out thousands of free tickets.
    3) Janet Jackson.

    Madonna is currently NOT touring and she was not, is not and never will be “struggling” to sell tickets.

    One of them must be Beyonce. Her tour is tanking and she has already begun rubbing her belly to start pregnancy rumours.

    No idea about the other two. Katy Perry? Britbrit? The “currently” makes me thunk that theybused ro be in groups before

      I got a great visual of Bey running around in her leotard and hoochie shorts slyly rubbing her belly when she sees a camera… there may even be an assistant whose job is to let her know when to play ‘pat the belly”

    Beyonce will do a sex tape (euwww), Taylor will go back to her country roots, Mariah will carry on as normal because she’s nuts!

    But looking at the pic it is 2 white women so maybe katy perry should be on my list instead of beyonce..

    Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Shakira. They will get a good business manager and look at selling properties and slow down their spending habits.

    Definitely beyonce and katy perry. For the 3rd i was thinking nicki minaj (might see her as tix are real cheap) but she’s a rapper. I heard lady gaga cancelled her last few tour dates in February to be rescheduled so maybe her??

    And don’t try to tell me one of them is taylor cause she’s been making $$$$$$

    Bey- drop Jay Z & get new music in your performance…charging to much for recycled music & act.

    Taylor- go away for awhile…you aren’t loved as much

    Janet- stick to acting now

      You’re kidding right? Taylor just performed for 80,000 in Ohio, beating pink Floyd’s record for 65k. She went away for a few years and is now filling out bigger venues.

    I know Beyoncé and Kate Perry are struggling. Not sure about #3. I want to say Taylor Swift, but she seems to be the popular one right now.

    Beyoncé will be “pregnant”, Mariah Carey will “say she isn’t sick”, Gwen Estefani will be “pregnant”.

    Janet Jackson and Taylor Swift, and Gaga.
    Local radio announcer said “Second Taylor Swift date added due to demand…” followed by “Prime seats still available for [first date]” LOL. Swift has put music out/toured 6 of the last 9 years… it’s impossible to be equally creative across that span and at that pace. Flip side, Jackson & Gaga are mercurial with releases. Joanne was a big departure and likely put off early fans, like early-2000’s U2, while Jackson released just 2 albums in 10…

    Mariah’s ego is going to have a stroke. Janet is just going to go back into obscurity, where she’s been for the last 15 years. Madonna will reinvent herself again and give it another go…

    These three will never be on the same stage at the same time…

    I think we’re all sick of the high priced tickets to go and see “Divas” who are always late. They should all retire.
