concert tickets[Blind Gossip] These singers want you to think that they are generous and caring. They recently donated concert tickets – with lots of accompanying publicity – to people who were not planning to attend. Nice, right?

It’s really no skin off their backs, given that many venue sections are half empty anyhow. Tickets aren’t selling well, so they’re going to have to give away a hell of a lot more or shut down sections if they want their venue to look full!

    The joke is $10k for 1 backstage pass, NOT including a show ticket .
    WHO in the world would pay that kind of money for them? (or anyone?)

    One reason for this plague of empty seats is sites like StubHub, people buy up these tickets from the primary vendors then resell them at an inflated price. Only a few acts like Taylor Swift are popular enough for anyone willing to pay that for a show.

    Demi and Nick at smaller venues…well no. Even A list talent like Rihanna and Beyonce are getting hurt by this.

    sounds like both . self serving but helps others too . nothing wrong with that. I donate clothes every year because it helps clean out my closet – it also helps those in need. I could just as easily throw the clothes away, just like they could just as easily block off sections instead of giving away tickets.

    They recently gave away tickets to the Pulse Nightclub employees for their Orlando concert.

    I think their donations were generous and self serving at the same time. Demi has been active in helping the LGBTQ community for a while now, so I don’t see this as her trying to get publicity. Nick, on the other hand, is known for baiting GBQ+ men, so I think it’s totally him trying to get more album sales.

    Don’t know who this is, but I DO know that the cost of concert tickets has gone absolutely through the roof. I’m not going to pay $100 for anyone who lip synchs and dances – which unfortunately most of the current crop of “pop singers” do.

    I think I heard this about Demi Lovato & Joe Jonas…. But considering the shameful state of both Gwen Stefani’s upcoming tour ticket sales & the recent pics of Rihanna singing to virtually empty stadiums on tour in the UK – it could be them… Or perhaps they should try it!!

    I say the fact that it was publicized cements it as completely self-serving. IMO.

      I’m not a fan of either one of them (or almost anybody on the current pop scene) either — but I have to ask, since when did “groundbreaking” have anything whatsoever to do with commercial popularity?
