The Pastry Case Girl

[Blind Gossip] This rich girl with the famous last name used to be the star of a TV show.

Her costar on the show was a girl with whom she grew up in a wealthy community.

While they are not besties anymore, TV Girl still does a lot of traveling with other female friends.

She was staying in an expensive suite at a hotel in major American city.

One of the dining venues at the hotel has a large dessert case.

She would come in every morning with her girlfriends and ask for a table right in front of the pastry case. Then they would order coffees. Sometimes they would split a smoothie.

She is known for her fashion sense. Was she dressed casually for breakfast?

Her outfits were always interesting. Sometimes she would wear an entire outfit that was one bright color from top to bottom, like a neon pink track suit. Another time she came in wearing pajama bottoms and a sparkly formal top and carrying an evening clutch. Always very odd and very distinctive choices! Full hair and makeup, though.

What did they talk about?

That is the strange part. She would sit there and point to an item in the pastry case and then the whole group would discuss it. What does the tres leches cake taste like? How many calories are in a chocolate strawberry? What flavor was the purple macaron?

Seriously, this went on and on for an hour every morning!

Were they talking to you or to each other?

They were just talking to each other. I always went over to ask if I could get something for them or answer any questions. [TV Girl] was obviously in charge of the group, because they would all look to her to see if she was going to answer. She would just give me a nasty look like I was intruding.

Lovely. So, what did she finally order?

That’s the funny part. NOTHING. None of them ever ordered any food! Since [TV Girl] wouldn’t eat, the other girls followed her lead and didn’t eat either! She apparently just wanted to sit there and stare lovingly at the food in the pastry case and talk about it for an hour. Bizarre!

Well, this does explain why she is so skinny!

    Paris.

    Nicole doesn’t wear glitter, sparkle, full hair and makeup – her style is boho. she has a clothing line and dresses to represent it.

    Paris dresses to be noticed. She has photos of herself all over her house. And she doesn’t have to be anorexic to have disordered eating… I know someone who ate only steamed, unseasoned food while cooking delicious gourmet meals for her family.

    It was bizarre, and clearly not healthy. She was thin, but not anorexic so no one spoke about it.

    Paris doesn’t look emaciated, she’s always been thin. Nicole basically survives off 2 green juices a day.

    I guess Paris although she’s never been crazy skinny like Nicole was. She is apparently 5’8 so she has to be 120+. She’s thin but not emaciated looking at all.

    Ali Hilfiger, star of Rich Girls with her wealthy (but not famous) best friend Jamie Gleicher. As far as I know, the series ended and their friendship did, too. Ali remains tied to the fashion industry and has struggled with an eating disorder.

    Nicole Richie for sure. She used to look scary skinny but I haven’t seen recent pictures of her. I know she’s rather short so she prob tries to stay at or under 100lbs. Sad.

    Although…if it was Paris…and the hotel was The Hilton…it would explain how she got away with occupying a table for an extended time despite not patronising the establishment (or is that acceptable in the US?). AND why the table of sheep, I mean friends, acquiesced to her.

    Whichever it was this (an obsession with food to the extent they create rituals around it) is indicative of a serious eating disorder.

    I have no idea about weight so no comment on that one.

    I saw an interview with her recently and i didn’t reconize her, her weight looks the same to me but she had her face all contoured and just looked so different and generic

    This sounds like the aging party woman Paris Hilton. She sure has been around the block. I can imagine she had a lot of hangers-on in her orbit. They’re probably all grown up now with families and children. She should be on a new show called the biggest loser, that isn’t about weight loss.

    Nicole Richie? she and Paris Hilton were long time friends and had a reality show together. Nicole is a designer now, so she’s known for her fashion sense. She looks like she weighs about 75-80 lbs.

    i have no idea who this is, but it’s sad. it immediately made me think of people in prison/extermination camps in wwii who would fantasise and talk about about their favourite foods at night in their barracks because they were starving (note: “the holocaust cookbook” sounds like a sick joke, but it’s actually a wonderful record of a lost culture), only these people are doing it voluntarily – yet obviously with tremendous pressure to adhere to a certain “look”. awful!

    Paris Hilton. But I really would not call her a TV star. She had her 20 min, and is so out of fashion – on all levels.
    Guess she weights around 96 pounds. That’s fine in my books; especially if you smoke so many “vitamins” – that just makes skinny after years of using.

    I’ve heard about this weird behaviour with anorexics before, they are OBSESSED with food, except for actually eating it. Reminds me of an article I read about Sarah Jessica Parker, that her and Matthew Broderick talk endlessly about food and what they “are” going to eat next for their meals. I thought ya sure, I’m sure you are just devouring a big meal SJP.

      It’s just something that happens. I am not and never have been anorexic but i nearly died from food poisoning from a fast food joint. Part of my treatment was liquid only for 3 weeks. I’ve never cared much about food, never dieted, and didn’t want to eat in those 3 weeks due to stomach pain, but i became obsessed with food! I was lying in bed looking up pics of food and i even emailed some companies asking food questions. Hilariously weird side effect. Now im healthy and that has stopped.

      Apparently SJP really is one of the few who literally cannot put on weight and eats nothing but snackey cakes all day. Rosie O’Donnell spoke about it, as did Matthew Broderick- he said how unfair it was that SJP would est double what he ate and he would put on weight and she wouldn’t gain an ounce!

    Im guessing Paris Hilton although the weight question makes me think it’s Nicole Richie.

      Paris is very thin too though – Nicole Richie was clinically anorexic, but she’s recovered enough to have children.

      Paris has friends. I can’t imagine Nicole wearing a head to toe neon pink outfit! She’s grown up now, has kids and a husband and hangs out with equally down to earth friends like Cameron Diaz. Paris has never grown up. This sounds EXACTLY like her. She lives a very sad life.

      I actually don’t think this is crazy – just an extreme exercise of self control/self denial. I see an extreme similarity to what we do with’window shopping.’ Women love to go look at expensive shoes and handbags just for the beauty of it knowing full well that they aren’t able to purchase. I actually love trying on those $10k gowns at Neiman’s just for the thrill of the twirl. I love looking at the beautiful shoes as well. Coffee in front of the pastry case every morning –not so bad!
