Revisionist History By A TV Star

[Blind Gossip] It is always interesting to hear who says what after a celebrity passes.

It is especially amusing to hear from celebrities who did not get along with the departed. 

Most of the time, they will keep it generic and simply express their sorrow.

It is really jaw-dropping, though, to hear the revisionist history that is being pedaled by a this female celebrity after the passing of her former costar.

After working as an actress for several years, she joined this well-established show.

The star of the show was this older man who is universally regarded as a very professional, very nice person.

In fact, if you talk to his previous female costar, she has nothing but great things to say about him. That sentiment is very real. The two of them worked together for many years and remained close friends until the very end.

Eventually, that female costar moved on. 

Young Female really, really wanted to replace her. She fawned all over Male Star and pretended to idolize him. It worked. Male Star advocated for Young Female to get the gig. She did.

Then she turned on him.

She was a total snake in the grass! She was kissing up to him directly but behind his back she was whispering to producers that he was getting too old for the job and that the show needed to replace him to attract a younger audience.

Male Star eventually left the show.

He was very upset that he got pushed out of the show. He was never one to create conflict or to publicly hate on anyone, though, so he just moved on and did not make a big deal of it.

Male Star and Young Female did not remain friends after this happened. In fact, they pretty much never spoke again.

Keep in mind what a contrast that is to Male Star’s relationship with his other female former costar.

So, now that Male Star is gone, how is Young Female spinning her relationship with him?

Her publicists are pedaling a story that the real reason the two did not keep in touch is because – are you ready for this? – she was so mad at him for leaving the show!

What?!

That bit of revisionist history is to make it look like she is a wonderful person who adored him and couldn’t imagine being on the show without him.

Who wants to call her out on this?

She will get away with this because he is not here to defend himself. Even if he was, he would be too classy to publicly call her a liar.

Male Star certainly was one class act.

Which is more than we can say for Young Female.

    Kelly Ripa is being interviewed on the 20/20 show that is dedicated to Regis’ life and memory. What a phony! Unbelievable.
    I feel that Regis’ daughters should speak up. I certainly would if he were my dad. I think it’s better for Joy to stay out of it and mourn her beloved husband.

    Rumors at the time of his departure hinted he was coaxed out due to his age At first, I thought it was the producers or the network, but as time passed , Kelly’s shown her true cold, devious selfish personality. I watched a few episodes after Regis left , but then stopped watching completely. Regis & Kathy Lee played so well off of each other on air, & remained close friends after they parted professionally. He was a true talent, a class act and loved by friends, family and fans.

    Kelly Ripa is like the young wife who replaced the older wife. It is obvious older wife, Kathie Lee, really loved Reege and they were close untill the end. He was there for her when Frank Gifford died. Ripa is one phony *. God Speed, Reege, May you live in the light of the Lord.

    Kelly “Markeled “ him when he left Lol . Regis and Gelman were so close for yrs , I have not understood Regis leaving and have the feeling his contract wasn’t renewed and it wasn’t talked about . Kelly acted the same way when Michael Strahan left , she had a hissy fit and didn’t show up for work for 3 days ! Never liked her after that .

    Kathie Lee Gifford put out a statement saying that they had remained friends, and saw each other just a few weeks before his death. Always got the feeling Kelly didn’t really get along with him. I never really watched the show but my mom stopped watching after Kathie Lee left. I found Kelly annoying.

Her bizarro tribute to Reg on her Insta…which was written like it was from THE SHOW…even signed by her and Ryan was the thing that prompted her to limit her comments on her posts there. Hmm. Talk about controlling the narrative.

    She even has COVID and the burial at UND to blame when she is a funeral no show.

    This is obviously Kelly, BUT… I do know, from personal experience, that an older beloved person can really get on your nerves towards the end of your time together -.she worked with him till he was in his 80s, or close to that… and even if you want them to retire, that doesn’t mean you don’t have a deep affection for them.     Sorry to hear that he was pushed out. I thought he retired because he was 80. I lost interest in the show after he left. He was the star. Glad to hear Kathie Lee & Regis had a good relationship.

    As for Kelly, she seems to have problems with all her co-stars – Regis, Michael, & we will see how long Ryan lasts.

    RIP Regis. You were one of the good ones! We will miss you.

    I watched Regis and Kathy every morning when my kids were little. They made me laugh, had good guests and I think Regis was a consummate host.

      Firstly, just say RIP to Reg…Trump Supporter. No. They were family friends. Quite different. Hate to see someone rewrite history like Ripa. Reg gave money to dems and reps, he was always just a guy who gave to the person he believed in regardless of party. And he is the one who made headlines for telling Trump to stop being so hysterical during the 2016 campaign.

    I loved Regis and Kathy Lee and that show was a bright spot in my morning when I was teaching. My planning period was from 9-10 and I would sit and plan or grade papers or summon up courage to face my 3rd period kids…haha…They were a tough bunch.

    Anyway, once Kelly came along, it changed and I didn’t watch so much. She seemed very me-oriented.

    Regis was a good guy.

    This is Regis, who died recently. I always loved him. I thought he was amazing and funny and his wife was and is fantastic. Kathie Lee was his older co-host, and they were a riot. Kathie Lee has always been kind and funny. The mean one who is attempting pitifully to revise history is Kelly. She did push Regis out, and it wasn’t fair. I scoffed at her most recent covid related non-sense, when she finally revealed that she wasn’t in fact in NYC during the shutdown. She was on some island

    I’ve never really cared about Kelly, but after reading her statement regarding the passing of (the legendary!) Regis, I nearly spat my coffee out. What a pathetic statement. I don’t think that anyone would believe her over Regis (even if he can’t speak out for himself)
    Regis is a class act. Kelly clearly isn’t.

    That reptilian Ripa. I could never stomach her and her never-ending sexual innuendos. She’d sit next to this wonderful man and she’d be physically almost throwing herself at him. The show is nothing without Regis. I loved his stories about who he’d run into the night before, when he and his wife were out on the town. He was a real raconteur.

    I heard and interview a few years back with Regis and maybe, Howard Stern.
    He asked Regis if he kept in touch with Kelly. Regis said, “I have not spoken to her since the day I left the show”

    Well, I haven’t watched Live in many many years but I think we are in an age now where everyone wants to spill the tea a la Ellen and Lea Michele so Maybe eventually the truth about her is going to come out from staffers.

    The times I did watch with Kelly i remember her always talking about food. I would roll my eyes about it because obviously the woman does not eat and probably works out five hours a day. She is skeletal.

      Seriously. The girl’s a witch. I used to work for the hospital in the south Jersey area for which she used to do commercials. No one seemed to like dealing with her.
