Not Quite Greener Pastures

[Blind Gossip] We told you months ago that this actress was not going to be missed.

She was part of an ensemble cast of a popular show. She supposedly left the show voluntarily in order to seek out greener pastures.

Her cast mates were actually not sorry to see her go.

And those greener pastures have yet to materialize.

You will notice that the cast regularly does movie projects together. They usually manage to bring along as many cast mates as possible with them.

She was not one of those people.

Over the years, I think other cast members only gave her one real gig, which bombed, and a couple of brief walk ons. That’s it.

Did they not include her because they dislike her?

It’s more because they don’t think she is talented. Loud and obnoxious is not a substitute for talented or funny.

Also, she complains a lot. To her, everybody’s a racist, everybody’s a misogynist, everybody who doesn’t get her is stupid. That’s her excuse for not getting better roles. Ironically, her complaining keeps people from wanting to hiring her!

We did notice that her parting words about leaving that ensemble TV show included a few complaints.

Does this mean that the big movie career she left the show for is not going to materialize?

She has one movie coming out next year, but that was filming even before she left the show. I don’t know how many lines or scenes she has, but she is not one of the leads. I don’t even think it’s going to be released in theaters. I think it’s going to be streamed.

Well, there are a lot of even bigger projects that are going to be streamed next year (e.g. Matrix 4, In the Heights, and Godzilla vs. Kong), so that may not be the best indicator of the quality or popularity of the movie.

Oh, and don’t forget about Dune. That’s another tent pole that will be skipping the theaters.

Anyway, our actress did manage to score a TV gig.

It’s not an acting role, though.

And, no, she is not going to be the new host of Jeopardy!

Could you even imagine?

After shopping herself around, she landed a show that is more… downscale.

It’s got to be embarrassing for her that this is her big career move. It will give her a steady paycheck but it’s nothing original and nothing creative. Talk about a step down…

At least it’s a paycheck.

    Why did Leslie Jones leave SNL? I thought she was funny…have not seen her in anything else, though.

    The funniest thing I’ve ever seen Leslie Jones in was an Allstate commercial. I can’t watch SNL anymore bc it’s just too political and not funny. It was funny until all the original “not ready for prime time players” left.

    Too easy: that annoying Leslie Jones. Cannot stand her and the new shopping show she totally ruins.

    Leslie Jones. She was on SNL, her big movie which bombed (I didn’t think it was bad) was Ghostbusters, and her upcoming movie is the Coming to America sequel.

    I’m not a fan but I don’t dislike her. She was a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and was exuberantly charming. She also seems like a person who is always “on” and is loud and brash and shouting for attention which I would find quickly exhausting as I am happiest sprawled on my couch and not talking.

    Aw, I’m sad about this. I like her and was wishing for her success. Also the grocery store show is so funny! So I’m bummer if this is her :/

    This sounds like Leslie Jones. I was rooting for her.

    Optional: I like her, but I’ve never had to work with her. You can’t know somebody just but watching them play characters on tv.

    She seems extremely egotistical and fake. Im glad she got knocked down a few pegs. It needs to happen more often to these actors/actresses that think they’re above everyone else.

    Leslie is 53. For her getting a steady gig with a schedule that’s not as completely insane as SNL is probably a huge win. SNL is typically full of young, single comedians who can live that crazy lifestyle. Many marriages don’t survive the show. I don’t blame her for wanting a break even if it’s not as “creative”

    If the person is implying Ghostbusters was a huge bomb, I don’t think it was for her. She was the breakout from that movie.

    Leslie Jones’s Netflix comedy special was nominated for an Emmy. All of her dissing castmates can’t say that! Screw them.

    Leslie Jones. “Shopping”reference to her new game show. I think she’s hilarious and underrated. She just has to remember how mus ass she has to kiss in her field.

    She has a role in the upcoming 2021 film, Coming 2 America, & she is supposed to have started hosting Supermarket Sweep on Sundays, starting October 18, on ABC in the U.S. She also had a few guest appearances in 2020 as a judge on Rupaul’s Drag Race. So not too much work for 2020.

    I liked her on SNL even if she often broke character & came off as loud as I thought she was trying her best. But if she’s unreasonably difficult to work with then there’s no excuse for that.

    Optional: I’m all for calling out things when you see it, but you also have to be smart about it. Constant complaining about ANYTHING will get on people’s nerves even if they agree with you.

    Watched a few clips on YouTube with her in and yup boring.

    Movie was Ghosbusters, TV show is that dopey Super Market game show. Agree that her schtick is more loud and obnoxious than clever or funny. SNL has become unwatchable, some taleneted cast members but writing is not fun or funny, hasn’t been for years now.

    Leslie Jones. I just read about her new hosting gig, some shopping game show, and I felt embarrassed that’s all she could land. She was nuts to leave SNL (was it truly her choice? I’m doubtful). I do think she’s funny though, not simply loud and obnoxious, but not a lot of range. It’s a shame to hear she’s kind of an ass and nobody likes her. Oh, well.

    She is not remotely funny. Screaming incomprehensibly is her entire act. Also very quick to play the race card for any criticism.
