[Blind Gossip] You’ll be seeing more of this new celebrity couple in the New Year.

It’s an odd relationship. 

They are not a romantic couple.

They are not a couple put together for a specific marketing purpose (like playing a couple in an upcoming film).

There is no contract.

However, the two are friends.

She is a comedic actress who would love to host an awards show.

She hasn’t had a boyfriend in at least five years but she does talk a lot about having a baby.

He is a rapper.

Although he has been linked to various women – including a famous athlete – he has not even come close to marriage.

Someone who personally knows them both says this:

They don’t actually make sense as a couple, but neither of them has anything else going on except work, so they figured what the hell. She has a lot of movies coming out, so dating him could give her some good talking points for interviews.

This is an odd arrangement for two people in their 40s. They don’t seem to have a lot in common or even a strong attraction to each other. Could there be some other motivation?

This is one odd couple!

Actress Tiffany Haddish and rapper Common have known each other for years.

Lately, the status of their relationship has been… mysterious.

Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, recently referred to them as a “beautiful couple.”

Then Tiffany Haddish made an appearance in a brief video for Cedric the Entertainer.

Cedric gathered together some of his famous friends for a cyberspace fundraiser called “Healing Through Laughter.”

While Cedric was talking to Haddish…. Common suddenly appeared on screen… and it looked like he was living with Haddish!

During their cyberspace conversation, the actress playfully revealed that she wasn’t in the house alone and that the Chicago-born rapper turned actor was actually keeping her company during the stay-at-home mandate.

Common was cool as a cucumber as he thanked Cedric for keeping people’s spirits up through humor during these uncertain times. However, when Haddish popped back on the screen, the look of mischief in her eyes was undeniable as she suggestively winked at the viewers and playfully stuck her tongue out.

As she walked down the hall, away from Common, Cedric echoed what many were thinking and said, “Tiff, that’s an exclusive.”

A few days later, Tiffany Haddish was remotely interviewed by Wendy Williams.

Lesson of the day: Don’t ask Wendy Williams for dating advice.

The shady TV host is never one to back down when it comes to telling it like it is to her fans, friends, ex-husband and anyone else who gets in her way.

Williams has been taping her show “The Wendy Williams Show” in her home and the change of scenery has seemed to have made her even more comfortable stating her opinion, not that it was a problem before.

Wendy Williams has never been shy about throwing shade at even the biggest celebrities.

Remember when Whitney Houston wanted to fight Wendy Williams when Williams discussed Houston’s gay relationship on air?

One of Wendy Williams’ guests this week was actress Tiffany Haddish.

…The comedian had a lot to say. She joked about possibly sequestering with rapper turned actor Common. The friends had been dodging rumors for quite some time now about being a couple.

While Haddish did not confirm that they are dating she did hint that he was her home partner and even made a few jokes about not being able to get her birth control shot. Is Haddish planning a baby?

Williams seemed concerned that her friend was making a bad decision regarding Common. Yet, she still showed a level of support that is just sly enough to be either support or shade. “I like Tiffany Haddish and Common, only because she’s been lusting after him for so long.”

So that was the Wendy Williams interview.

Then, a few days later, things took a weird turn.

Tiffany Haddish suddenly started ranting on social media about some sort of break up!

This one for the people that ever talked to me for hours, hung out with me, laid down with me, told me you loved me, you would fight for me…..Smh Fake ass cause then you turned around and tried to destroy me. Haddish did not specify about whom she was ranting, but it certainly didn’t sound like she had some sort of argument with a female friend.

Most of the commenters speculated that she broke up with Common.

However, Haddish is being as mysterious as ever about who the Instagram rant was about. She is also being mysterious about the status of her relationship with Common, who appears to be living with her.

Friends? Beards? Lovers? Exes?

Whatever the status of their relationship, both Tiffany Haddish and Common are certainly wringing out the publicity on this one!

That weird relationship between Tiffany Haddish and Common is dunzo!

There was some speculation that they broke up last year after an Instagram rant in 2020, but it wasn’t until now that there is an official announcement. 

So back in 2020, Tiffany Haddish ranted on social media.

THIS IS FOR MOST OF MY EXES. BITS AND PIECES ARE FOR DIFFERENT ONES. I am so sick of my ex F**k Boys and yes YOU still a f**kboy even if we was in a relationship cause you still was trying to f**k when it was over, Boy. Stop reaching out to me trying to be my friend, I don’t want to be your friend. Plus you got a whole women and Babies on they way and we been done for years.

That’s ugly. But there was even more.

But you want a windfall of money, and want me to make that wind go? Huh hahahaha if I thought that would remove you from my entire life I would. Just act like I never said I love you. Cause who I was loving wasn’t the real you. When the real you showed up I was disappointed and disgusted, so please go away forever. PEACE AND HAPPINESS BE UPON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

That “peace and happiness” bit at the end isn’t really convincing after such a rant, is it?

We don’t know about whom Tiffany Haddish is ranting, but it’s odd that she would take such a personal feud so public.

Then she unfollowed Common. And he unfollowed her. So maybe the rant was about Common. Maybe not.

Yes, it’s confusing. Don’t try too hard to make sense of it. We told you that this relationship was weird… even before it started!

Other than for publicity reasons, we don’t know why these two pretended to date.

Whatever the reason, perhaps “living together” may have put such a strain on their friendship that the two are no longer friends, either.

Or is it possible that Tiffany Haddish finally expressed her secret love for President Donald Trump and Common decided that he just couldn’t compete?

Just kidding about that last one! Haddish is not a Trump fan.

Whatever the reason for the 2020 rant and unfollowing, there was more to come.

The couple “reconciled” and were supposedly “living together” again.

And now they’ve “broken up” again.

Tiffany Haddish and Common have gone their separate ways, a source tells People.

“They are never in the same city together and both of them are just too busy for a serious relationship,” the source says.

Dang, these two have trouble keeping their stories straight.

In July 2021, Common said that his relationship with Haddish has made him a more “evolved” person.

“I think one of the important things about relationships for me has been to really know myself more and love myself and be able to express the things that I want. I’ve evolved and gotten to that place.”

Then they “broke up.” “Again”.

Whatever.

The origins of their relationship should have been your first clues that this relationship was manufactured.

The two met on the set of the 2019 film The Kitchen where they became friends, Haddish told Steve-O.

“Yes, I’m doing it with Common now. I met Common when I was shooting my movie The Kitchen. He was in it and I guess he was my love interest. I made out with him in the movie and we became friends and it wasn’t anything sexual.

It was after they went on a virtual Bumble date in April 2020 that their relationship blossomed, however. “And then he got tested for everything, I got tested for everything and yeah, we’ve been f—ing,” she said.

He worked with her and was her love interest in her movie but they weren’t attracted to each other. 

Then they did a virtual date on Bumble and began dating.

Then they did a marketing campaign for Bumble. Ka-ching!

Interesting sequence of events, right?
