The Masked Walker

[Blind Gossip] When this famous couple took a recent trip, much ado was made over a walk the husband took.

It was heralded as an emotional moment for him, as he was following in the footsteps of a relative who had walked the same path many years before.

Afterword, he blah blah blahed about his feelings.

First of all, he apparently thinks you forgot that he did this exact same photo op several years ago! Yet, for some odd reason, this time is the one that is causing him anguish?

Whatever.

Second of all, the outfit and mask he wore were not really unnecessary. They were simply props to make the photos more directly comparable.

Third of all, guess who was supposed to be walking the same path… in the same mask?

Oh, yes!

His TV actress wife.

We don’t know if it was supposed to be just her, or her with her husband.

It was pitched as the ultimate passing-of-the-torch moment.

The expectation was that she would comfort him and the the hearts of the little people would melt and she would be seen as the next coming of a beloved figure.

Then, God save us all, someone came to their senses.

Someone on the team decided that having her do the walk would be too ham handed and perhaps create a backlash, so the plan was scrapped and he was scheduled to simply repeat the same walk he had already done years ago.

Given their long list of publicity blunders, that was probably the first good decision they have made in months.

Well done, Team!

    The truly heinous Meghan and her puppet Harry (nice but dim). They try to make out that the British public are a bunch of racist horrors. We’re not, but we see through her. She has fooled no one.

    Guess what? You are now talking about Angolan land mines, i.e., the fact that land mines are still killing people, decades after the wars that created them ended. There’s no other way anyone talking about this photo op today would have been talking about it if a British royal hadn’t don’t it. Whether you hate them or love them, people pay attention to them – and if that raises awareness for otherwise-invisible causes, then good for them.

    They just spent time in a third world country with a 55% poverty rate, and a terrible history of human rights abuses, then they get on TV and whine about how difficult their life is. To quote Chandler Bing: “My wallet’s too small for my fifties, and my diamond shoes are too tight!”

    The baby shower was a terrible move. After living in England for several years, I had a good idea how terrible it would look to the British public. Even By american standards it was ostentatious. Private jets, low point. Her flying to watch Serena play. To me that looked bad on several levels: Serena’s dead silence (and MM no show to the after party) made it obvious MM was not a welcome presence. And – leaving Archie for a frivolous reason when she’s supposedly breast feeding.

    I think Diana, for all her own issues and faults, loved her children dearly and worked to make certain they understood the privilege of their position and to use it to make a difference in the world. I think she also took extra care to make sure Harry knew he was just as loved and valued as his brother, that he was more than just “the spare”. He’s been sort of lost for a while now. I see why Meghan appealed to him. They’re very much like the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. So sad.

    Oh dear God. Harry recreating Princess Diana’s walk through the mine field? She was actually trying to raise awareness about abandoned land mines.
    Now that awful Meghan was going to recreate the photo? To try and win us all over? Wow.
    Just read an article positing that she has narcissistic personality disorder or borderline personality disorder. The author did a good job defending his position.

    Their scripted documentary with his friend Tom Bradby where they whine and complain about their lives and throw his family under the bus is the worst and lowest move so far imo.

    They need to stop manufacturing faux moments and scripting everything.

    You would have to know what their objectives are to know if they’ve committed any PR blunders. Not everyone in the world values the same things gossip columnists do, they might have reasons and motives of their own.

    The worst *publicity* blunder they’ve made so far? I think using their trip to Africa, of all places, to whine about how hard their lives are and how deeply unhappy and traumatized they are. That will be difficult to surpass.
    Meghan’s worst blunder…gotta be Wimbledon. Wearing jeans. Clearing out 4 rows of spectators. Ordering no photos and then smirking the whole match. Or no, wait, using Princess Eugenie’s wedding to not-so-slyly announce her pregnancy. There are so…

    The worst blunder is suddenly having a huge issue/law suit about a letter everyone forgot about that happened a year ago that was released by the recipient of the letter…it just doesn’t make sense. They need a new PR team. A documentary that is supposed to be about Africa is….surprise surprise you guessed it…all about her!

    Of Course it’s about Harry and Megs. Harry has been wanting to get out of royalty for a long time. So did William – but suddenly William changed his mind and I think that’s the path that Harry was talking about. Kinda think William is the cause of all the unjust and negative smear campaign against Meghan because she took all the publicity away from Kate and the fact that Harry is not backing William’s greed into Kingshood… Me thinks William can be a shady guy…

    H&M. Landmine clearance & the Halo Trust’s work w/Diana & Harry as patrons is important. Diana’s Gear on her ’97 walk in Huambo was symbolic, her path in the minefield already cleared. Wasn’t that practice also followed w/Harry’s Gear recently & on prior visits to minefields (e.g., 2013, 600 miles from Huambo)? Harry traced D’s steps in Huambo for the 1st time this Sept, seeing the restored city, renaming a hospital in Diana’s name & meeting locals impacted by her work.Very moving visit…

    So manipulative.
    Their worst blunder? Either Megan at Wimbledon thinking all eyes were on her, or her choosing the desperately poor country of Angola to whine about surviving vs. “thriving”. So awful and sad and incredibly poorly thought out.

    What is the worst publicity blunder the couple has made so far? I think that in the long run this documentary will be considered the worst decision. The timing of broadcast at the end of William and Kate’s tour of Pakistan and also Charles’ tour in Japan wasn’t passive aggressive, it was just plain petty. Their US PR team is doing them no favours.

    The current sympathy/ good will is just a dead cat bounce.

    Meghan Markle and Harry walking through the landmines. I have to say that Meghan has lost my interest and sympathy, starting with the gauche baby shower in NY, then followed by the constant belly cradling and surprise guest appearance at the Fashion Awards Show (look at the pictures!). You can’t have it both ways – basking in the attention and adoration and then berating people for looking at her TOO much and/or too interested in her. She worked hard to see and be seen last year.

    He became such a disappointment lately with all his hypocritical, insensitive statements and actions but I would never expected he was so fame hungry to stage such pity pictures and another interview about his grief. It was your mom, Harry! FFS, stop using her like that!
    That’s it for me actually. He completly lost his authenticity in my eyes. His wife doesn’t seem to help either. On the contrary, she seems to “thrive” on this drama. Maybe it was even her idea. I suspect NPD.

    Their Tour of Africa Documentary, taking the time to discuss their hardships rather than the people who they were there to serve.

    Harry & Megan are working Royals which means they earn a sizable wage/privileges to represent the Royal family and their chosen charities. They were working at the time so this is the equivalent of going into a meeting to promote your company and moaning about how hard you’re finding your job

    Diana died long ago. There are no mine fields in this area since ages. Their PR team should stop trying make them look like humaritians they clearly aren’t. If they were they wouldn’t fly so much for pleasure and drive dozens of large cars . They’re just attention seeking, superficial celebrities. It’s too hard to name the worst blunder they did.

    Biggest blunder – hard to say if it was preaching about carbon footprints while flying multiple private jets at the same time or complaining about how hard their life is and just “existing” while on their tour of Africa.

    Well, there’s sooooo many to choose from! The stupid lawsuit and documentary are by far the worse ones. Throwing your brother, family/ in-laws under a bus is a hideous thing to do and in such a public manner. Whatever happened to the family she never had? To say they are existing and not living is a truly sickening, and contemptuous insult to people whose lives are a constant battle. They need to shut up and go far away.

He walked through the same landmine fields in Angola that his mother walked through 22 years ago, which he now says is causing him much emotional distress. In 2017 he also walked through the same landmine field. I would’ve loved to have seen MM fully suited up for these photos – they would have looked ridiculous.

But the thing that bothers me is all the hugging, especially after the faux pas at the awards thing Meghan went to alone in the purple dress. It makes it awkward for people. Don’t be awkward. Be professional.

The despicable claim that THEY (translation: SHE) alone are responsible for bringing the monarchy into the modern age and the ineffective, inexperienced rest of the family, etc., doesn’t know how to harness their “power.” In laymen’s terms: PH and MM are the ones calling the important shots now and are the REAL power behind the monarchy. That Harry could do or allow this to be said or done is despicable to his brother.

      Agreed. They work for the royal family and are undermining their bosses at every step. Who asked them to “modernize” the royal family?? Was it a goal for their performance review? Lol. They are stepping way out of their lane. Harry is 7th in line; know your place. If they weren’t power hungry they would be quiet and follow the strategy like everyone else does.

      The Queen just removed their engagement pic from a little table in a room where she is holding her appointments. Everybody knows british press gives great attention to those pics. She knew everybody and their mothers will notice it immediately.
