Not Funny Or Distinguished

[Blind Gossip] You’ve seen this rotund celebrity on TV many times, either on his own show or as a guest on other people’s shows.

He has enjoyed a long run of accolades and awards, both inside and outside of his area of expertise.

Not so much any more. It took a while, but those assault accusations are finally catching up to him.

Not only are his former colleagues distancing themselves from him, but so are the institutions that formerly lauded him as a shining example of success.

The college he attended used to regularly cook up ways to honor him.

They made him a graduation speaker, and he used the time to boast about his drug use. Yes, in a graduation speech. They laughed it off.

They regularly featured him in their alumni magazine. So much fun to cover!

They even inducted him with great fanfare and multiple press releases into their Hall of Distinguished Alumni a couple of years ago.

That was apparently another half-baked idea.

He was just removed from the Hall. Guess they realized it’s not very funny or distinguished to celebrate alumni who drug and assault the women that work for them.

No press release for that little event.

    I went to high school with Conan O’Brien. Actually he was a little younger by a year or so but his bro Luke was in my class. Nice people.

    This is mario batali. At my ex SILs graduation from NW Julia LD talked in her speech about how she campaigned for a bong to win class president, it’s not all that uncommon for celebs to talk about drugs in a commencement speech I guess.

    ugh. i’m gonna guess jonah hill and not seth rogan because i can’t stomach a camp miriam alumnus behaving in that way – though with the regular “guest star” thing, i’m probably way off?

    i’m canadian, so the most famous alumni from my school are hockey players, lol.

    Mario Batali- cooking clues, picture batali is also red haired and overweight and unkempt like the picture. Swirl blind is Giada who is also on food network.

    Most famous alumni: the guy who started Bebe fashion brand. Not too famous.

    I’m going to guess (just a guess mind you) that this is Anthony Anderson.

    The most famous person from my undergrad school (Uni of Wyoming) has got to be DICK as in Cheney; and from my doctoral program at Uni of Aberdeen at present is Iain Glenn who plays Jorah Mormont on “Game of Thrones.”

    My school had a bunch of famous alumni but I think the most beloved is Jimmy Stewart. <3

      Maybe his humour isn’t your cup of tea (I love him….he’s particularly hilarious with the One Direction lads, as they lived with him when they first moved to London so share a strong personal bond). BUT there’s nothing sleazy about him. He’s a genuine down-to-earth, family oriented & very (multi)talented guy.

    This is just a guess but Mario Batali and Rutgers University.
    No celebrities I know of but attended Bowling Green State University for a brief stint and James Baldwin taught writing there at the time. I was just entranced seeing him in the cafeteria.
    Jamie Farr and Danny Thomas grew up a couple of blocks from where I lived in Toledo, but not at the same time.

    This is Mario Batali. He was honored by Rutgers as a “Distinguished Alumni” and he was bought out of all his restaurants AND eataly. Which makes me happy cause eataly is great, but I could not go since he was profiting from it.

    Most well known from High School – so many- Mike Tollin (directory/producer), Judy Toll (comedienne/actress/writer), Tom Veric a (actor/director), Michael Sembello (musician), and Randy Grossman (football player) just to name a few.

    College – I went to Temple University – it HAS to be Bill Cosby.

    No idea who the celebrity is but the most well-known alum from my high school is John Belushi. We had a huge mural on the wall of him and Dan Ackroyd as the Blues Brothers.

    The most famous person from my high school was this wannabe theater girl who wanted to be on boradway got a couple of distinguished theater awards and got married before she made it to Broadway.

    Rutgers University has a “Hall of Distinguished Alumni” and in 2005, Batali was the university’s commencement speaker.

      Ok so Batali seems to be the common theme. Enrico Colantoni went to my highschool (Veronica Mars, Flashpoint), he actually was in a play with my sister lol. I also worked with Stephen Amell before he became famous.
