It was one of those fancy sports cars that costs $100+.

Why splurge on such an expensive gift?

She found out he was cheating on her again. She got in his face about it. He finally admitted it and promised to make it up to her. That’s what the car is for. She’s a lot less mad now.

We didn’t hear anything in there about him promising not to cheat again. Does that mean he has no intention of stopping… but now knows that he can buy her off if he gets caught?
