[Radar Online] Serial philanderer Matt Lauer was caught out cheating with a Today show co-star — by his wife, sources say!

RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively the disgraced anchor enjoyed steamy bedroom romps with one of his fellow NBC correspondents — in the ultimate betrayal to his spouse.

Multiple sources confirmed Matt even carried on the relationship with the leggy beauty — an award-winning household name familiar to millions across the nation — after his divorce.

“Matt’s first wife, Nancy Alspaugh, found out about him and the other woman when he was working on a different show in the ’80s,” snitched a source.

“Nancy was stunned — especially because they were all friends at the time!”

According to insiders, Nancy — an Emmy-nominated TV writer and producer — told pals she suspected Matt was cheating with other women as well.

But her horndog husband did little to hide his tawdry affair.

“Their relationship was an open secret among all their friends and colleagues,” the source added.

Nancy filed for divorce after six years of marriage in 1988, and Matt continued seeing his former mistress — who also ended up working at NBC alongside him!

Although monstrous Matt remarried, his sleazy ways never stopped.

As Radar has reported, Matt’s cheating haunted his marriage to second wife, former model Annette Roque — with whom he has children Jack, 17, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11.

Ironically, Matt went crawling back to first wife Nancy after his career came crashing down!

“I’m very friendly with Matt,” she confided to Radar in an exclusive interview.

“I hope he’ll get his career back on track, but it won’t be for a long time.”

    From what i have seen Katie Couric is very leggy and rumor has it that she has always carried a torch for Matt. Her husband passed and she is known to have a very healthy libido ! I think her and Matt jumped each other’s bones many a time and this is about her. Notice when the Matt Spats broke mainstream Katie only offered a mild grope story while others were blasting away . This was a distracting technique of what really went on . Nobody followed through because KC is Teflon coated

    I’m truly not meaning to be rude, but I have a hard time picturing Katie Couric, Meredith Viera, or Lara Spencer as ‘leggy’ lol! To me that one word clearly indicated Deborah Norville. And I think she became a household name with her entertainment show.

    Guys, read the timeline. This happened in the 80s. Not Natalie, Savannah or anyone else he didn’t know then! Probably someone when he was first on Today. Could be Norville.

    It’s spelled correctly. His soon to be ex-wife is Dutch, hence the Dutch name. It’s pronounced TICE.

    I’m going to say Giada. Though I’m not sure if she’s “leggy.” If she’s anything she’s a bobble-head. But the chemistry and sexual tension between the two of them was totally on display on the air for years.

    When I hear leggy beauty-I don’t think of katie couric- she seems too short to be leggy. I don’t have a guess so yours is still better than mine ? is savannah Guthrie leggy?

    No idea on the leggy co-worker anyway. I never watched the Today show. No, I think she had enough of him as an unfaithful husband. And I hope she gave a beat down to the supposed “friend.”

    The two household names that first come to mind are Barbara Walters and Katie Couric. I can’t imagine anyone willingly having an affair with Barbara Walters. There is also Jill Rappaport, but she is not a household name. Ditto with Deborah Norville, Ann Curry, Jane Pauley and Natalie Morales. Meredith Vieira seems too dedicated to her husband to get involved in an affair. So my guess is Katie Couric.

      Predates Natalie Morales. She wasn’t born until 1972 – she’d have been a teen in the 80’s, and not working yet.

    “Thijs?” If BG got the spelling right, then shame on Matt and his wife! Any parent who gives a child a name that he/she will have to pronounce and/or spell for the rest of their lives, should be charged with child abuse.

      Thijs is a common Dutch name. From wikipedia, “Thijs is a common Dutch given name and surname. It is a short form of Matthijs (Matthew).”

      Thijs may not be our cup of tea, but Lauer’s wife, Annette, is from the Netherlands and Thijs is a Dutch name. In fact, it is a variation of Matthew (pronounced Tice). Just FYI 🙂

      His last wife is from Holland, I believe so one might assume it is a Dutch name. Perhaps one could politely ask how it is pronounced?

      Thanks for the name origin. However, unless this kid is going to live in the Netherlands, that name is going to be a big problem. Yes, one can ask politely how to pronounce the name, but imagine having to go through one’s entire life having to answer that question. I just don’t think any kid should have to deal with that.

      Not sure where you live but in today’s America we have kids from all over the world and a name like this, while not your common Anglo-Saxon name, is actually pretty common and not nearly as complicated as some others. And in the Hamptons and Private School world they live in, no one cares how different your name is. Finally could easily be a family name. Agree with the “ask kindly how to pronounce” as the polite response.

    Optional: No, but he was a fool to leave her because how many people would stand by you after all of that? Hope he appreciates her sacrifice for him but I doubt it. I think his arrogance is long tern.
