Rose McGowan Assaulted At 15 By Very Famous Director

[Independent UK] Rose McGowan revealed details about an alleged mol*station that happened to her at the age of 15 at the hands of a ‘very famous director’ while promoting her new memoir Brave and docuseries Citizen Rose.

The actress and activist gave details about the alleged incident during a live interview with journalist Ronan Farrow at the 92Y in New York City last night – something she had initially mentioned to Farrow when he spoke to her for his New Yorker pieces.

While she wouldn’t name the “prominent” director, she did say he has “won Oscars” and “worked for my r*pist [Weinstein].”

“This man picked me up when I was 15 years old,” McGowan detailed. “He took me home after he met me and he showed me a soft p*rn movie he had made for Showtime, under a different name. And then he had sex with me.”

After the alleged sexual abuse, she explained she was left in Silver Lake “standing on a street corner.”

It’s something she didn’t realise until recently.

“In my mind, playing it back, I had been attracted to him, so I always filed it away as a sexual experience,” she explained.

Then she deferred to Farrow saying,  “I don’t have a normal trajectory, I don’t know if you do either.”

Farrow replied, “I do not.”

Farrow helped McGowan come to the conclusion that her experience with this director wasn’t right.

“It was not until two weeks after your story broke — our story, our world’s story — that I was in bed and I started saying, ‘Oh my god. I think that’s mol*station,'” she explained.

In an off-the-record conversation with the son of Woody Allen, McGowan did reveal the director’s name, however Farrow will let McGowan reveal his name when she’s comfortable.

While McGowan describes her encounter with the director as “mol*station,” it could likely be considered r*pe because of her age and the circumstances.

McGowan accused Harvey Weinstein of r*ping her in 1997.

Rose McGowan has revealed that the Director who assaulted her when she was 15 is Academy Award-winning Director Alexander Payne.

McGowan is now retelling her story with the same details she provided to Ronan Farrow in 2018.

Rose McGowan accused “Sideways” and “The Descendants” director Alexander Payne of sexual misconduct in a series of statements posted to her Twitter account early Monday.

“Alexander Payne. You sat me down & played a soft-core p*rn movie you directed for Showtime under a different name. I still remember your apartment in Silverlake. You are very well-endowed,” McGowan wrote.

That last point is an odd detail to provide. We are guessing that McGowan has a good reason for mentioning it.

“You left me on a street corner afterwards. I was 15,” she added.

McGowan followed up that post with another tweet saying “I just want an acknowledgment and an apology. I do not want to destroy. This was me at 15.”

Payne, who is 59, would have been around 27 years old at the time of McGowan’s accusation.

Alexander Payne is a director, producer and screenwriter. He is best known for Election (1999), About Schmidt (2002), Sideways (2004), The Descendants (2011) and Downsizing (2017).

Alexander Payne is divorced from actress Sandra Oh, whom he directed in Sideways. They were married from 2003-2006.

Alexander Payne has been nominated for seven Oscars and has won two.

Just a reminder that Rose McGowan was only 15 years old when she was assaulted by Payne.

George Clooney has a young daughter and a wife who is a human rights lawyer.

Matt Damon is married and has three young daughters.

Both Clooney and Damon were slow to react to the Harvey Weinstein accusations and claimed they had no idea that Harvey was a predator. They have since said that they support the actresses who were his victims.

Shailene Woodley is a young female actor who was nominated for an Emmy for playing a sexual assault survivor for two seasons on the HBO drama series Big Little Lies.

Sandra Oh is a prominent female actor and has said that she is an “absolute ally” of the Time’s Up movement.

All of these actors know Alexander Payne very well.

It will be interesting to see if they speak up in support of fellow actor Rose McGowan.

On Tuesday, Rose McGowan added some more context to her experience via a lengthy post on Instagram.

Last night I dropped a bomb of truth. For years I had thought a man I had sexual relations with was a a sexual experience I had. I now know I was groomed. I auditioned for him at 15. After my experience with him, I quit acting entirely until I was ‘discovered’ at 21. When that happened, I was like, f*ck it, let’s do this. I even tweeted a congratulations on his Oscar win in 2012, that’s how deep in the Cult of Hollywood I was.

It wasn’t until three weeks after the Weinstein story broke that I re-evaluated the situation. I feel badly about throwing a bomb into someone’s life and career, but I guess that’s social conditioning. I’m more sad than angry. Sad for 15 year-old me. Sad for the adult me that still thought it was a choice I made. Grooming is real.

I want you all to know that it’s not your fault if you were mentally massaged into thinking it’s okay. It is not. I know this now. I would even go up to this director at events and ask him, with a smile, “remember when you had sex with me at 15?” And I would laugh it off. That is deep societal programming. If you are out there trying to have sex with an underage minor, you are committing a crime, even if the minor doesn’t know it. I was attracted to him, so I thought it was on me, but that’s not correct. I was not an adult. When it happened, I’d recently been left behind in Hollywood by a family member to fend for myself. The wolves preyed.

Please recognize that if this has happened to you, the shame is not yours, it’s theirs. Give it back. Groomers are skilled operators and at 15, I was not aware of the warning signs. I named him on Twitter, but since Instagram is my softer side, I just don’t want his name here. Goddess bless us all, except for those that abuse their power.     I believe it’s Steven Soderbergh. He practically began his career at Miramax. Plus, he came ‘forward’ about being clueless about Weinstein’s abuse. I automatically distrust anyone who claims this. Weinstein’s proclivities have been an open secret. Everyone knew but no one was willing to suffer for coming forward. I find it very hard to believe anyone who’s worked under him or his brother didn’t know. HW is a boy’s club. They all have dirt and protect each other.

    I can’t believe the people who are not calling this rape. If you are underage you are not able to discern what is right and what is wrong and she now knows as an adult how sick and disgusting that was. It’s the same as anything you don’t understand as a CHILD and look back on as an adult. smh.

    It’s not Tarantino. McGowan was 15 in 1988-89. So the Showtime movie would have had to have been made before then. Tarantino’s first movie was a comedy, “My Best Friend’s Birthday”, in 1987. His next was “Reservoir Dogs”, in 1992. He was working as a video store clerk in 88-89, not directing soft core cable films. And I’ve never heard anything about him directing softcore under a pseudonym.

    Never liked Tarantino. Nasty attitude toward females. I bet this is QT. After all, he thinks Polanski’s 13 yr old victim was a willing participant. It’s time for these scummy guys to be driven out of the industry.

    0 love lost between Rowan & his dad/ step dad Allen. In light of Rowan’s exceptional journalistic skills, respect & understanding he shows Rose & his breaking of the story on Weinstein who better to break this story to?

    Rose says the unknown director assaulted her at 15 or 29 yrs ago, around 1988-89. This is exactly the time Allen started his sick sexual relationship w/the teenaged SoonYi & a couple years before Rowan’s other sister Dylan said he molested her. A pattern; it…

    She was 15 in 1988. Her first credit wasn’t until 1990. And where the hell were her parents? Seriously? She clearly has some mental health issues. I do believe many of her life stories, but not all of them. And not this one.

    She has no problem calling people out, so it is curious she didn’t name this one. I don’t 100% believe her.

      God, I hope so. Was SO disappointed to hear that he was selected to direct the next Star Trek film, right on the heels of the announcement of his “passive involvement” (?? He knew and did nothing…) with the Weinstein rapes. Now he’s on record defending child rapist Roman Polanski, and Uma has been talking about her experiences with him on the Kill Bill sets… Not good stuff!

      Hoping his taint doesn’t stain the Trek Universe…

      Also saying she should have seen it as rape or assault then is silly. It IS statutory rape by definition. How many of us thought were hot sh*t grow up at 15 and all adult making decisions? Now when I look at teenagers I think WTF they have so much to learn and understand. She may very well have normalized given her cult roots and being on her own.

      That is what I thought, but he has no Oscar awards. He does not live in Silverlake . He lives in Silver Lake adjacent, as in near there. I think he was living with someone around the time that Rose was 15. Lynch likes to look at girls, talk to them, but not have sex with them, especially not jail bait.

    She was under the age of consent. This is technically statutory rape. But I don’t understand why something that she considered a neutral sexual experience for the past 20 years is suddenly rape in her head. She’s deep in victim mode and that’s her right. However, I don’t understand why she needed to label this as anything more than she labeled it at 15. He’s a perv into underage girls. Say so.

    Even some of us who did have a so-called normal trajectory had sex at 15 with older men.

      Are you serious. Regardless of how you feel she was a child who could not consent or properly understand what was happening with a person who must have had some power within the entertainment industry. She is a victim. She can go into victim mode if she wants too. I think you need to re-evaluate everything.

      No, that is not a so-called ‘normal trajectory’. You know why? Older men should not be sleeping with teen-aged girls. If you’re saying 18 year old guy with 15 year old, that’s more understandable, but still illegal! And she didn’t say ‘rape’, as posted here, she called it ‘molestation.’ I’d call it rape.

    I would consider this statutory rape, since she was 15. Don’t forget that the teacher that kidnaped his student last year, she was 15 at th time too.
    If he was older, and had a status or power, it is even worse. This type of situation would be more a crime in my opinion, than a high school boyfriend/girlfriend case (which you sometimes hear about).

    Statutory rape at the very least. It’s the adult’s responsibility to make sure the age of the (willing) sexual partner is legal.

      Exactly! It’s especially sad if you know her story: She was born in Italy to American parents that ran the Children of God (cult – look it up if unfamiliar. It’s terrible) chapter in Italy… travelled with the cult all over Europe.. eventually her family came back to the US but her home-life was dysfunctional, so she spent a lot of time on the streets. She finally got LEGALLY emancipated from her parents and moved to LA to pursue acting… at 15. Really changes the story, right?

      sorry to say, but 15 is still a child. they have YA sections, but that doesnt mean kids are adults. In order to even be considered a “young adult” you should be first an adult.

      Also side note: Michelle Williams came to Hollywood at 15 too.

      I don’t have any idea who he is, and without any other information he is at least an opportunistic sexual predator. Flattery, attention, and fame were used to his advantage and he has probably done this more than once. These men have a type of radar for troubled girls.

      Woody Allen doesn’t drive, he didn’t own a home in Silverlake in 1998/1999 and he never ever made any movie for Showtime – soft core porn or other – under any name.

      He was not doing anything for showtime when Rose was 15. I think he was working at a video store. Think 1988. Rose was born in 1973. Also, he likes feet and exotic women. Rose is not his type.
