Parents Pushing Older

[Blind Gossip] This underage girl is one of the stars of an ensemble TV show. Yes, she was at the Golden Globe Awards.

Was talking to a couple of other agents who are shocked at how old she looks. They said usually the kids are in a hurry to grow up, but in this case it’s the parents who want her to look/act/dress much older than she is. They want the bigger paychecks that they think will come from being cast as an adult film lead.

Good strategy? Not from an agent’s perspective.

We prefer talented actors who read younger on screen. More longevity and flexibility with their career. Also don’t like it when parents are dependent on the child’s income. It makes for bad decisions.

    Oh man, i just pulled up the pictures of Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown from the Golden Globes. Millie looks about 5 years older than Sadie on the red carpet. Then I looked up their ages, Sadie is 15, Millie is only 13! This is definitely about her.

    Its the girl called Eleven in Stranger Things. Millie Bobby Brown maybe her name. She supports the entire family. No her family have their best interests at heard, they are living off her money

    This has to be Millie Bobbie Brown, who was sporting the face of a 30 year old at the Tony’s. I couldn’t get over how glammed-up and adult she looked; it was disturbing.

    Her parents absolutely do *not* have her best interests at heart, and it’s incredibly sad. As a child actor; the odds are already stacked against her. Without a decent set of parents in her corner, she’s in for a rough ride.

    I heard she’s going to star in some detective series, and people are saying this girl’s pushy stage parents want her to star in more roles because supposedly she supports the family.

    No, her parents have their own interests at heart. The child is only 13, and was dressed to look like she’s 20 that the Golden Globes.

    Optional: nope. There is no real way to have a child’s best interest at heart when you depend on them in such a manner. Forcing a child to grow up too fast is a big red flag for me.

    Oh I’m sad, this is probably Millie Bobby Brown 🙁 She was done up all “couture” at the Golden Globes, while Sadie Sink (who is older than her by 2 years) looked like a regular 15 year old in a nice dress with a bit of makeup.

    Millie Bobby Brown’s look was way off at the Golden Globes. She needs to get lessons in teenage style from her co-star Sadie Sink, how looked AMAZING.
    Also, I take issue with the fact that she thinks she’s too big to show up on the red carpet with the other kids. This is an ensemble show, not the Eleven show. Someone is giving her really bad advice and I don’t see this ending well.

    The parents are probably trying to secure Millie’s ability to have roles after Stranger Things. Most child stars do not transition to adult stars, the exception is few. Parents are drinking the Hollywood kool aid. When I saw her at GG, I did not recognize her!

    Optional: Yes and No, yes because she is their daughter and no because of a previous blind where they tried to use her fame to get their meals for free, I see her as the female version of Chandler Riggs and that didn’t end well. Scarlett Johansson had to cut her mother off because she was using her daughter as a bank account, I don’t believe in families living off their children for. The rest of their lives, get a job of your own.

    Optional: From what I’ve been hearing, no they don’t. They only care about her earning potential. She’s their cash-cow as many child stars are to their parents. It’s a sad life and we wonder why most child stars grow up to be addicted to drugs and basically a hot-mess. I live in Miami and was told several times that my son would do well in commercials or even as a child model but nope. Never. He’s going to be a normal kid but he can be what he wants when he’s grown.
