The Host Legacy

February 3, 2020 Blind Gossip

[Blind Gossip] This long time popular host has been on the air for many years and commands a big audience.

You may have already heard that he is is ill.

If you have always wished you had a gig like his… here is something that may be of interest to you: He is looking for his own replacement!

Although he plans to continue working, he would like to find a suitable replacement. A creative solution would be to find someone with whom he could co-host for a period of time, build an audience with them, and then eventually have them take over when he is ready to leave.

He already has a lot on his plate dealing with his health. Why make the effort to find his own replacement?

He hopes that this “partnership” would not just continue his legacy, but also financially benefit his family over the long run.

It sounds like the partner/replacement would be providing some sort of stream of income to his family.

So, if you have always wanted to host a show like his, this may be your big chance!

He is an iconic Canadian who will be missed, but the show will go on!

Rush Limbaugh, yes I will miss him. No matter what you think of another human beings politics no one deserves cancer. Sad to see so many negative unkind comments.

This must be Rush. I never listed to or watched his show but lung cancer is horrific. My husband had it and it spread to his bones and he was literally tortured to death. 🙁

Sounds like Alex Trebek … I will miss his fantastic presence! Enjoyed him since the 70s …

As much as I’ve never like Rush L., that news is shocking. Cancer is a horrible death sentence.

    Alex Trebek.

I don’t think it’s Limbaugh, simply because his show has his name in the title so I don’t think anyone can really be considered his successor. “Jeopardy” is also iconic, with Alex as the one and only host.

Dan Bongino is a great choice! And shame on all those who are celebrating Rush’s illness. I’ve never listened to him but my children’s father died of lung cancer and it is a bad, hard way to go. I wouldn’t wish it on Nancy Pelosi.

I absolutely LOVE Rush! I was so saddened to hear the news today.

If what you say is true, this would be a great way to get the future host acclimated while covering for Rush when he is not able to be there. His listeners will have a hard time with even the thought of replacing El Rushbo. So this might be a good way to ease in the new person with the loyal audience.

I will say this – I have learned more from Rush than all my formal education put together (high school and college)…

    • trivialtime says

      February 4, 2020 at 6:04 am

Here here! Rush helped me recover from a lousy liberal arts wasteland. He’s a class act and irreplaceable. Walter E. Williams would be my choice to listen to if he had the time.

    • BobNYC says

      February 4, 2020 at 3:50 pm

You love Rush? Really? He attacked Michael J. Fox for faking Parkinson’s Disease. He disparaged scientific evidence & minimized the negative effects of smoking on one’s health. He compared Chelsea Clinton to a dog when she was 12. He told an African American woman to call back when she took the “bone” out of her nose. He called children on government-assisted lunches “wanton little waifs,” implied gay men are “pedophiles,” & called women “semen receptacles”. You love Rush?

That feeling where you have a little cluster of cells that become something that eats you alive and you are tired and exhausted all the time and just want it done. I respect your disagreement but he was not a good man.
