The Baby Part 1: The Doula

[Blind Gossip] This actress is having a baby. That’s no secret. Everyone in the world knows about it since her husband announced it on national television!

It’s also no secret that Actress wants to give birth at home.

However, we do have some interesting information about what is going on behind the scenes!

While the couple is very private, they have a new employee.

A doula!

What is a doula?

A doula is a woman who is employed to help out an expectant mother during her pregnancy and birth.

Doulas are not obstetricians. They are not nurses.

No, they are not midwives, either.

Doctors, nurses and midwives all have formal medical training.

Doulas do not have formal medical training. They are companions. They guide a woman through the pregnancy and birth process. Sometimes they stay on after the birth to support the post-partum mother. They are there to help with the mental and emotional aspects of giving birth.

Given our couple’s extreme attention to mental health and emotional health, it makes sense that they would hire someone to assist with that side of the pregnancy and birth.

Although Actress’ baby is not due for months, the doula is already on the scene.

Actually, she more than just on the scene.

She is now living with the couple in their home!

Yep.

[Actress] wanted [Doula] there with her full time. She also didn’t want nosy reporters seeing [Doula] coming and going from the house.

So Doula is now living with them! Hey, it’s a big house. Plenty of room.

Now, about that home birth.

One room is being kitted out as the birthing room. It has everything to keep [Actress] comfortable: music, candles, aromatherapy, acupuncture, and homeopathic remedies.

It’s like a little spa.

That’s not all.

The doula is suggesting that she get a hypnotherapist, too.

The couple is talking to Doula about several different options for the actual delivery.

What kinds of options?

They could use a birthing stool, which would allow her to sit upright during labor.

Another option?

They are also talking about using a labor sling or birth swing.

That’s a fabric device that hangs from the ceiling. Actress would hang from her arms or the upper part of her abdomen and let gravity do the work.

It’s so effective that the woman above just gave birth to a giant purple exercise ball!

Another option is a water birth.

She likes the idea of relaxing in a birth pool filled with warm water.

That sounds really peaceful.

Well, except for one tiny detail.

She is talking about having the whole family in the pool with her.

Say what now?

Like this?

Now that sounds bloody awful. Pun intended.

Don’t even get us started on what they are going to do with the placenta.

It supposedly involves avocado toast and sea salt.

We’ll be sure to get the recipe for you.

Couple: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hired a doula… and she has moved in with them!

We don’t know exactly how the couple are going to handle the home birth. As we told you in the original blind item, they have lots of options.

We are secretly hoping that they opt for the water birth.

Everybody in the pool! Wheee!

Why are we solving this blind item so quickly?

Well, we were lucky enough to score the recipe we told you about and wanted to share it with you right away.

Note: When preparing this recipe, make sure you start with fresh placenta.

If the placenta is still warm coming out of the body, rinse it thoroughly in cold water and pat dry. That will help the edges crisp up nicely during cooking.

Avocado Toast with Crispy Sea Salt Placenta

1 Avocado, sliced

2 Slices bread, toasted

8 oz Fresh placenta, rinsed in cold water

¼ Cup onions, diced

1 Clove garlic, minced

1 Tblsp butter

Sea salt

Black Pepper

Preparation:

1.       Toast bread and arrange avocado slices on top

2.       Chop placenta into small pieces using scissors. Sprinkle the placenta liberally with sea salt.

3.      Saute onions and garlic in butter over medium heat for five minutes until softened and fragrant

4.      Add placenta and cook until no longer pink and just starting to crisp along the edges.

5.      Season placenta with more sea salt and cracked black pepper.

6.      Top avocado toast with seasoned placenta.

7.      Enjoy!

We totally need to do a cookbook someday.

Meghan Markle herself just called us!

We thought she would be upset that we had let the cat out of the bag about the doula and the labor sling and the water birth and the placenta.

She was actually cool about all of it!

It’s a California thing.

Afterward, Meghan was even kind enough to send us some amazing placenta recipes!

    Most of it is fairly common, although I would be concerned about a risk of infection with the entire family being in the pool (unless they bathed & used an antibacterial soap immediately before entering it. The placenta is a little weird since it’s quite common to have it turned into capsules. My guess is that instead they will use the placenta to nourish a tree they planted (in Diana’s name I’m sure)

    Sounds a bit unusual, given that she is almost 40(!) complications are more likely with geriatric mothers, hospital should be advised. Husband Harry probably on board and doing what he’s told.

      I googled “family birthing pool” because sometimes I like to gross myself out, and there was another boy in the pool who got cropped out of this picture. He’s old enough to know he’s sitting in blood. Very strange.

    It got weirder the farther I read.
    Is Harry in board? He doesn’t have a choice. Like he once screamed at the Queen’s Assistant: “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets”.

    Weird and IRRELEVANT – Due to the fact the geriatric old girl will, more than likely, end up in the Labor ward of the nearest hospital to avoid complications that come along with geriatric pregnancies such as hers. That is my prediction.
    As for Harry – He’s probably already “cutting washers” at the idea of consuming the placenta – I reckon he’s planning how to feed it to the dog under the table, without being caught.
    I reckon DORIA is the DOULA.

    Does this sound normal or weird to you? It sounds very self indulgent. Who needs a doula for a second birth? Who needs a doula for a first birth, for that matter?!

    Do you think the Husband is on board with all of this? Husband can only think with his little head apparently.

    I imagine this is a reference to the lovely Duchess of S. If so, I find this quite inconsistent with a desire for privacy . . . I cast no shame or disrespect on any woman who wants to try a home birth. But regardless of who this might be: I hope that – for the baby’s sake – there are contingency plans to get the mother to a hospital stat if the baby becomes distressed during labor.

    Meghan Markle. I’m sure she is making as a big a fuss and spending max $$$ on her pregnancy and delivery. She seems like one of those annoying women that think they’re the first person to have ever had a baby and therefore so special and important.

    So my last (third) birth was a spontaneous home one, totally alone. Guess what, we’re just another animal, designed to bitth our offspring without stools, baths, or doulahs. Its not a big deal.

    I think the theme is dont let any male establishment doctor take away your female power. This is going to be empowering to women. MM is going to be showing us her womanly power as she births a female child into the hands of the female doula.

    Optional: None of it sounds weird to me but it’s personal preference and every woman and every birth is different. That being said, I still greatly dislike Meghan and Harry so don’t think I’m defending her.

    It’s Meghan Markle and her trophy husband Harry.
    I read both parts and the scary thing is for a minute or so I really believed it. Meg is like reversed Kim Kardashiam, who started with a p*rn and then slowly became more mainstream suitable. Meg started on top (because nobody knew who she was before Harry and the BRF is on top of our western society), and is on her way down to become reality tv celeb.

    April Fools! All kidding aside. She is an elderly woman by OBGYN standards. A baby at home? And if there are complications? No doctor? A doula and a hypnotist? Fat chance there will not be a physician there or at least birthing nurses.

    Personally I find birthing without medical professionals and away from medical facilities very dangerous and not something that we should mess with, I’ve seen and heard many sad stories about what can go wrong in these situations, but each to their own, I guess.

    Much as I dislike them, a doula doesn’t have to be instead of medical professionals but works alongside them. The swing & waterbirths are proven to help with pain. It’s common for Dad’s to go in birthing pools and even kids can have a little dip with mommy before the business end of labour. Home births are also generally deemed safe after a normal delivery.

    Harry & Meghan, of course. And while having a doula sounds all groovy & stuff, at her age, they’d better have some medical professionals close by just in case they are needed. The risk of complications increases with age.

    I’m sure he’s on board. Whole family in the pool sounds gross/weird, but other than that I don’t see anything wrong. I’m not a mom, but supposedly it’s not ideal to give birth on your back. I wouldn’t want a stool, but the pool or sling sounds fine.

    None of this is very controversial, really. I feel like this is a bit sensationalist. I mean, Hilary Duff just had her whole family in the birthing tub and no-one batted an eyelid.

    I hired a doula for the delivery of my kid and I’m not “woo-woo” at all. In my case at least, the doula was a practical assistant that made it possible for my husband to support me 100% of the time. She also made suggestions about birthing techniques to try and took photos. Absolutely…

      I always forget about the April Fool’s blinds. However, I wouldn’t put it past her to claim to have used any of the birthing methods discussed in the blind.

    Maybe a little bit out there with having the fam in the birthing pool …. but otherwise I don’t see what’s wrong with any of these if they make Meghan more comfortable. Lots of people use midwives or doulas and as long as they have a doctor on call in case of complications I think it’s fine.

    Optional: I think it is a perfectly reasonable way to deliver a baby. Good for her to try a home birth. I’m sure they have a back-up plan too. No doubt Harry is on-board. I think this blind gives credence to the idea that she is indeed birthing a child herself. Jury is still out about Archie! Perhaps the big event is expected sooner rather than later. 🙂

    I’m blown away by this. I didn’t believe she was actually pregnant. i was sure that they were using surrogates!! However…. just realised that tomorrow is April Fools and I’m not going to get caught by this for another year. Got me thinking though BG!!

    I’ve given birth twice and I can tell you, I’d want to be horizontal, on a comfortable bed, thanks, with a professional ready to catch the newborn. I’ve also seen the blood involved; no way would I want anyone else swimming in that. And the placenta? Seen those too; not appetizing at all.

    By the way, those babies I had? Neither of them were born yesterday, and neither was I. You almost had me, right until the placenta! Happy April 1, BG! 😂

    Nothing about Meghan Markle is normal. I still think they’re using a surrogate. Her bump size was completely different in between the baby announcement photo, the one holding Archie (she looked 8 most along there), and it even was big in the chicken coop then smaller for Oprah’s interview. And now she has all the privacy she wants with the birth plans and not having to be consistent with her moon bumps in public like she did the first time around.

    Normal to have a doula, I had one myself. Definitely not normal to have her living with you, though. What’s wrong with her being seen coming and going?     It’s really up to the parents, especially the mother, to decide where and how to give birth. I’d prefer a hospital but then again I’m not a celebrity. Water birth is ok, but with the whole family submersed, sounds gross. I’m sure Harry is on board with whatever she wants. Who cares how she chooses to deliver, as long as everything goes as planned.

      When I say home maintenance monies. I mean if she continues to live in the expensive, huge home & estate after a divorce–Harry alone with HIS money will not be able to give her that much. So she’ll have to cough it up herself or sell & find a less expensive home to maintain. Cost are very high here in Southern California–expensive yearly property tax, monthly water, gas, electric, home insurance, gardeners, house cleaners, & on & on & on. Haven’t even touched on their security bill.

    Our VERY PRIVATE couple from the UK–Harry Windsor & his wife Meghan Windsor.

    Obviously weird. I can see looking into alternative ways to birth. But an absolute NO to the bloody family, birthing pool. Just NO!!! I’d be concerned about the birth at her age & the child’s risk. I live in the same neighborhood & know how far they’re from the nearest hospital. Unless they have a helipad on their property, they best have an ambulance at the ready. Brainwash Harry has no separate…

    [Optional] I’m pregnant, but under no circumstances would I give birth in a pool with my husband and his two kids in there with me- no way! For a start, that doesn’t sound sanitary.

    Do what you like, but no way do I find the idea of being in a birthing pool relaxing or appealing.

    Come on this is the Messy Meg, and it is just too much. Does her lapdog Harry go along with this, does he have any say in anything? Don’t think so, will the very private pair have Oprah and Gayle join them in the tub? If it meant more publicity why not! Is the doula realy having the baby and Messy Meg will just remove the fake baby bump and have a beautiful post baby figure? Who knows what is possible with that crazy duo. Just feel sorry for the kids, hope they will get their own shrink .
