[Blind Gossip] You might think that being one of the best athletes in the world is easy.
For this professional athlete, though, it has become a problem.
Athlete is a fearsome competitor with plenty of wins and titles under their belt.
But Athlete is aging. In fact, Athlete may be older than any other athlete to ever compete at that level in their sport!
So, will they keep going… or will they retire?
“One more title. Just one more title. Then it will be enough.” Maybe.
It actually sounds like it will not be enough!
We can understand the desire to keep winning, but Athlete is now struggling to get there and is frequently playing while injured.
And while we admire their toughness, just about everyone they started out with in the sport retired years ago.
It’s hard to know if they are really confident about winning again… or if their ego is getting in the way of them gracefully stepping aside for a new generation.

Could be Roger Federer too! Also known as a goat. If Serena or Brady want to continue playing why not? They play because they love the sport, it’s not hard to understand why they don’t want to quit.

Serena as everyone said. I love her and she can do no wrong. I’d probably do the same in her situation. When she does step aside from tennis though maybe she can do some service work —- Black women have high mortality rates during pregnancy and her voice could bring awareness to this serious issue.

Usually my answer is the same as many others, but not this time. I was thinking it’s Floyd Mayweather. Not even close to everyone else’s answer!

Serena. She needs one more title to become equal the greatest and another to be the record holder. “With a victory in the 2021 Australian Open, Williams would equal Court’s record 24 majors. Court’s 24 Grand Slam titles is the only significant record Williams hasn’t broken in a 26-year career in which she revolutionized women’s tennis with her powerful groundstrokes . Winning her equalizing 24th major in Australia would leave her three more chances this season to surpass Court before turning…

serena, it’s time to step down. though it won’t ever be done gracefully. thinking back to her poor sportsmanship and ruining naomi’s first win, i will always have disdain for her and hope naomi smashes her chances.

Completely agree. Wouldn’t consider her a GOAT with that awful sportsmanship. She should’ve congratulated her and acted out in private

This is Serena Williams. I actually do think it has less to do with ego and more to do with genuine competativeness. She should retire and enjoy everything she has accomlished.

Leave while you are at the top. Best way to cement your legacy. If people have to witness your decline, they will feel awkward and disappointed. That’s all they will remember, never mind all the wins before. Go into management or coaching, that has worked well for a number of aging European football/soccer players. Time to switch is now. Once your reputation is gone few will want you as a coach or manager, and you won’t be able to dictate…

I dont know if there’s an easy answer to that question. I’d hate see an injury become debilitating, on the other hand if you’re playing strong enough to win doing what you love, I’d have hard time stopping too.
