[Blind Gossip] This movie star’s relationship with an actress was so predictable.

In case you didn’t notice the timing of events, we’ll clue you in!

This was not the first time he has dated one of his costars. However, this relationship was so manufactured as to be almost eye-rolling.

They started dating while filming a movie together.

Then they broke up.

Then he had a different big movie to promote.

So they got back together again.

Now that the movie is out and in wide distribution, she is no longer needed.

So they’ve broken up again.

There is no need to feel sorry for her. This was not some fly-by relationship where she was taken for a ride and then mercilessly dumped by him. It was all marketing. Her own profile is now higher because of her association with him.

He likes to be “in a relationship” when there is something to promote. Therefore, it is not impossible to imagine our couple getting back together again at some point in the future!

    He is good in everything he does but he was super hot in MI-2. And awesome special appearance in Tropic Thunder.

    Tim Cruise and Hayley Atwell. Clues: fly-by (Top Gun): impossible (Mission Impossible). Look, Tom may be bat-sh** crazy, but he’s good in everything. You can depend on him to show up and entertain – Knight and Day is one of my favorite popcorn movies.

      Actually, he’s not a good actor. I never see the character Tom is portraying, I always just see Tom Cruise, over compensating. It’s unnerving.

    There have always been rumors that he auditions girlfriends, and Scientology helps him do so. I don’t understand it at all.

    Tom Cruise just dumped Hayley Atwell. The aviator clues (relating to the Top Guns and Tom’s private piloting of fixed- and rotary-winged aircraft) were throughout!

    Tom Cruise and is her name Hayley Atwell? Anyway, the girl who was in Mission Impossible, disappeared and then was dragged/ encouraged out to be his date for the Top Gun premieres. Rain man is still probably my favourite though I haven’t watched it in years & I’m sure it’s become problematic in the time since it was made.

    Favorite movie? I like Knight and Day but also enjoyed him in A Few Good Men and Interview with the Vampire.

    I like most of his early work when he truly was an actor because he wasn’t yet overshadowed by his off-screen persona. Now he’s merely a calculating money-making machine beholden to enriching COS coffers through regurgitating formulaic successes.

    Clues: manufactured relationship = Tiny Tom and Scientology vetting/set ups; filmed Mission Impossible:Dead Reckoning together and split when it ended. Top Gun: Maverick just released and needed to be seen as desirable to promote; fly-by – running joke in Top Gun where repeated denials to buzz the tower were ignored; “not impossible” = Mission Impossible

    Side note: Agent Carter was cancelled well before its time. That was a fab show and she deserved a longer…

    Favorite movie : Got to be Top Gun. And so fanciable. And the one where he played an international drug runner flying planes was great, but can’t remember the name!
