[Blind Gossip] It should have been a happy occasion. Instead, it turned into fight night!

There was a birthday party recently at a restaurant in Hollywood.

In attendance were this American movie star – who has starred in an Academy Award-winning movie – and his pretty wife.

I don’t know how the fight started but he was so mad that he actually left the room for a long time. He came back but then he was on his phone and she didn’t like that. She went over to him and told him to get off the phone.

He said something and she said, “You’re a f*cking liar” and told him to “quit acting like a b*tch.” She was drinking and she was loud. She made out with some model-looking girl for about a minute, then she went and sat in some other guy’s lap. [Actor] didn’t seem too happy about that.

We don’t want to call anyone names… but “Drunk” and “Over The Top” come to mind in the case of our actress.

Now here’s the part that we found amusing:

They were obviously hating each other but whenever someone went to take a photo, they acted all happy and in love!

Well, that explains all those impossibly adorable and affectionate photos you see on the various socials. Actors!

It is interesting, though, that she was the angry one here. The stories we’ve told you about him usually involve him being irritated over one snub or another. It sounds like he behaved in a restrained and mature manner.

Maybe he’ll get a nomination someday for “Best Restraint Shown By An Irritated Spouse In A Hollywood Restaurant”?

Or maybe they’ll just get a divorce.

Couple: Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers

We told you about a birthday party last year where a married celebrity couple really seemed to hate each other.

That couple was Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers.

They were celebrating Elizabeth’s birthday last August at The San Vicente Inn Hotel in West Hollywood. 

Clearly, they were not happy with each other.

Elizabeth was swearing at Armie and then sucking face with a young female model.

We don’t know which model it was, but Lily Rose Depp and Stella Maxwell were both in attendance, so it’s possible that it was one of them.

Anyway, let’s revisit the last two lines of the original blind item.

Maybe he’ll get a nomination for Best Restraint Shown By An Irritated Spouse In A Hollywood Restaurant?

Or maybe they’ll just get a divorce.

Well, your friends at Blind Gossip were rather prescient with that statement, because that is exactly what they are doing!

Armie Hammer announced today on his Instagram account that he and Elizabeth are getting a divorce!

Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents.

It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage.

As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority.

We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.

The announcement was accompanied by an old photo of the couple in their car. They are smiling and happy, with his face seeming to move in to nuzzle her neck and her hand seeming to move in to nuzzle his privates. That is one strange choice for a photo.

We don’t know yet what caused the divorce.

Elizabeth Chambers was the drunk and foul-tempered one at the birthday party.

However, we have told you before that Armie Hammer can also get quite temperamental (see Why He Did Not Get An Oscar Nomination for details).

By the way, we hear that there is no prenup. That could make the divorce interesting.

Did you catch the clues?

“Socials” = Armie Hammer was one of the stars of The Social Network, where he played the Winklevoss twins and got to utter one of the best lines of the movie (“I’m 6’5″, 220, and there’s two of me!”).

“We don’t want to call anyone names” = Armie Hammer starred in Call Me By Your Name with Timothee Chalamet. 

Armie Hammer did not receive an Oscar nomination for CMBYN.

He should have.

Perhaps he’ll get one for the sequel.
