[Blind Gossip] A while back, we received a request from a singer.
They wanted us to change our content.
In particular, they asked us to not mention food or post photos of food. Ever.
They said that when they read descriptions of food or see photos of food on our site, it triggers their eating disorder. Therefore, we should modify our content to accommodate them.
They seemed to have a particular problem with fast food.
They wanted us to remove the post Your TV Show Is A Hamburger, which shows this image of a McDonald’s hamburger and french fries.
They also wanted us to modify the post She Was Swirling In Vegas, which shows a soft-serve ice cream cone.
Those are just a couple of examples.
Now, we are not sure if they just targeted us or if they sent similar emails to others trying to control them as well. Perhaps those emails went something like this:
Dear Mad Men,
I am trying to quit smoking and your show is triggering me. I demand that you remove all smoking scenes from future broadcasts of Mad Men.
I am upset by my inability to manage my weight and the fact that you sell bathroom scales is very triggering for me. Please remove all bathroom scales from your website immediately.
I am a recovering alcoholic and your products trigger me. You must stop selling your products anywhere in the Los Angeles area.
Seriously, though, this singer – who has multiple personal problems – goes around telling people and businesses that they should only say or do or think or sell what our singer deems acceptable.
Singer seems to think that it is reasonable for them to demand that the whole world revolve around them!
Control issues? Entitlement issues? Mental issues?
Their behavior is both weird and fascinating.
