[Blind Gossip] Reality stars are sometimes bigger divas than actors or singers.

Let ‘s talk about one particular female reality star who is doing something incredibly stupid right now.

What is it?

She is biting the hand that feeds her!

The fame went to her head and now she thinks she’s irreplaceable. She is trying to dictate how she is portrayed.

Look, when you are a reality star, you sign away certain rights in your contract.

In general, the show does not guarantee the participants much of anything except payment for their appearance on the show.

If the producers want to make one person the nice one and one person the villain, they can do so via editing.

If the producers decide that one person’s story deserves 34 minutes of airtime and yours only deserves 4 minutes, that’s the way it goes.

Producers can even request re-shoots of certain scenes.

Hey, it may be called “reality” TV, but that doesn’t mean that it’s always real.

It’s all about drama.

You stop bringing the drama to the show with your story lines, and you may find yourself fired, demoted, or with a huge salary cut.

And if you create drama with the producers of the show by publicly criticizing them – or even suing them – you are practically begging to lose your job!

Reality Star: Nene Leakes

The Real Housewives of Atlanta have been renegotiating their contracts with Bravo since the beginning of this year.

Nene Leakes has been particularly stubborn. She not only refused Bravo’s offer. She said that she was going to sue them!

Your friends at Blind Gossip told you about this back in February 2020.

Reports starting leaking out (<- Yes, that was a little pun there!) soon thereafter that there were a number of battles going on.

Nene has engaged attorney Lisa Bloom to sue Bravo.

You know Lisa Bloom. She is an attorney and the daughter of Gloria Allred. Bloom called herself a champion of women’s rights… right before she agreed to defend Harvey Weinstein. Ugh.

Anyway, on Instagram, Nene issued the following threat/promise:

Gathered info, gonna make some noise.

There were varying reports about what Nene was planning to sue Bravo about.

Some thought it was that some side business deals had fallen through. Others thought that Nene believed that Bravo was preventing her from getting other work.

We heard that Nene was upset with the way she was being portrayed on the show (too negative).

It could have been all of those things.

Kandi Burruss confirmed that Nene had hired Lisa Bloom. She also said that Nene had served her with several legal documents regarding a video that Kandi had posted on social media.

Kenya Moore, another RHOA cast member,  called Nene “not talented” and said that Nene looked like a “buffoon.” She also refuted that Bravo had prevented Nene from getting work.

Nobody is stopping you from getting other work, you’re not talented. You don’t need to be on anyone else’s TV screen doing anything other than looking like a complete buffoon. If you could act, if you could dance, sing, if you were pretty, maybe you would get another opportunity or another show.

Ouch.

Now things are even uglier!

Letters went out on Friday for “pickups” (contract renewals).

Kenya Moore did not get a pickup letter.

Fired!

Kenya immediately removed all mentions of Real Housewives of Atlanta from her social media accounts.

Cast mate Eva Marcille did not get a pickup letter either.

Fired!

Eva tried to spin it as if she decided not to renew her contract. From People:

After three seasons on the show, Marcille announced her exit Tuesday morning on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

“I appreciate the bond of friendship that I’ve made with my castmates and strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers of Bravo,” she said in a statement. “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.”

Blah blah blah. Ninety percent of Hollywood is unemployed right now. Eva has no other jobs in the pipeline, and she is turning down the only paying gig in sight?

Nah.

Fired!

NeNe Leakes also did not get a pickup letter.

Wait a minute.

Did Bravo really fire THREE housewives in one day?

Maybe.

Nene is now claiming that she was not fired! From Us Weekly:

She said what she said!

NeNe Leakes laughed off rumors that she has been fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta ahead of season 13.

“I can’t chileeeeeeee,” the OG Housewife, 52, captioned a throwback photo of herself cracking up at the season 5 reunion via Instagram on Wednesday, June 17.

Her manager, Steven Grossman, spoke out as well, saying in a statement to Us Weekly, “It is absolutely not true that NeNe has been fired from RHOA. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be. We are having ongoing bigger picture conversations with NBCUniversal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically. Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate. Bloop.”

So he basically confirmed that Nene did not in fact get a pickup letter. However, her status is uncertain and in flux.

Sort of like her face.

There is one other piece of drama that was reported. From MTO:

MTO News spoke with two people at Bravo who tell us that Nene got both Kenya and Eva fired. The insider explained, “Nene basically told Bravo that if they don’t fire Kenya and Eva, she would quit.”

Bravo gave into Nene’s threat, and fired Kenya and Eva.

Another insider explained, “Nene got [Eva and Kenya] fired, but she also got other former housewives fired also”. The insider told MTO News, “she got Claudia [Jordan] and Sheree [Whitfield] fired also.” 

Yikes.

Nene Leakes is the worst employee ever… yet she seems to hold an inordinate amount of power over the casting and direction of RHOA!

We’ll find out soon enough whether Nene Leakes is staying or going.

Of course, Nene denies it.

Controversial ‘RHOA’ Star NeNe Leakes Slams Reports That She Was Dropped By Entire Team

Real Housewives Of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is firing back yet again after it was reported that the outspoken housewife was dropped by her entire management team.

The 53-year-old was said to have been let go by her manager, lawyer and PR team, but Leakes insisted that is not the case at all. “For all of you that are asking, emailing, in boxing, blogging, reporting etc.,” she tweeted on Tuesday, February 9. “The ONLY statement i have…My team DID NOT let me go! No further statements at this time.”

Things began the day before on February 8, when Leakes started naming names on Twitter and claiming certain individuals had “turned” on her amid ongoing RHOA drama.

“You can’t turn on your teammate and get away with this @stevengrossman #DarrellMiller #Foxrothschild suppression, retaliation, discrimination, unequal pay, devaluation against black women is real, it’s painful and it hurts. I will fight for all women rights PS: FIX IT,” Leakes declared on Twitter on Monday. 

Let’s get you familiar with the companies and people that handle (or handled) Nene.

Nene called out Steven Grossman, who works at Untitled Entertainment, a well-respected management company.

 

She also called out Darrell Miller, a seasoned attorney at Fox Rothschild, a prestigious law firm.

Nene’s PR agency is either Rogers & Cowan PMK or Jonesworks.

ICM is Nene’s primary talent agency.

We’re hearing rumors that they all let Nene go.

Back to Nene.

“Sorry abt my typos! I don’t tweet abt the show, i do not watch the show, i don’t talk abt the show & i don’t talk abt the girls.

In case you didn’t know, Nene was fired by RHOA. Yes, fired.

My concern is the treatment & abuse behind the scenes that you DO NOT see. Please don’t make fun of that. It’s real, painful & it’s happening,” she added. 

“I have numerous emails, text messages, RHOA group text, voice recording that go back yearsssss. I never got rid of anything! Fix your dirty work. Being a racist is so yesterday.”

By the way, we don’t know what happened to Lisa Bloom, the celebrity attorney that Nene originally hired to represent her with this lawsuit.

However, Darrell Miller, Nene’s current attorney, is a really strong advocate for his clients.

We’re just guessing here, but if Lisa Bloom is out, and Darrell Miller isn’t backing Nene up on these charges and proceeding with litigation against Bravo, there’s a good chance they don’t think her case is strong enough.

Basically, Nene’s beef is that Bravo and all of these industry professionals are racists and they are all working together to conspire against her.

They pay off & reward lawyers, managers, agents & even certain cast members to keep their dirty work going. I won’t stop speaking out until something is done. I will call names if need be

Nene wants everyone to boycott Bravo.

Now it looks like Nene Leakes is biting the hand of everyone in the industry!

If Nene wanted to stay in show business, alienating those in the industry who were trying to help her was an incredibly stupid move.
