Barbie’s Big Break

[Blind Gossip] Barbie can pretend all she likes that she is upset.

And her daughter can pretend all she likes that she is reluctant.

However, the truth appears to be a little bit different.

She has been trying to get [her daughter] into the limelight for five years now!  While she is not happy about being injured, she is positively giddy that this is [her daughter’s] chance to be exposed to a national audience and make a name for herself. She has been using the same line to everyone, “MY big break is HER big break!”

Clearly, the daughter is trying to make her name for herself and not just wind up as arm candy for some rich or famous man.

    Optional: Big star? No. Rarely are the offspring “big stars” like their parents. I am surprised that, with as easy as it is for celebrity offspring in the business, I’m surprised it’s taken 5 years.

    Remember Christy in that Uptown Girl video by Billy Joel? She was so uncoordinated it was painful to watch.

    I actually don’t think she will. She’s as bland as plain instant oatmeal only add water bland. Unless she has some hidden talent we don’t know yet. But this child celeb lacks some luster. Saying a lot since most lack luster.

    Doubt it, her mom wasn’t really a BIG star. She was a famous model, married to a famous musician, then kinda went off the deep end with men, and now seems fame thirsty and reluctant to age gracefully. That makes her a celebrity, not a star.

    Her daughter is pretty, but doesn’t seem to have much charisma, so I’m not sure she’ll become a star.

    I cannot explain my utter despair of not seeing Christy Brinkley try to dance. I still remember my awe at her inability to just walk and bop to music through the Uptown Girl video in 1983. When I heard she was on DWTS (which I never watched) I was filled with shear joy for the entertainment value! Bummer.

      Seriously, check out the Uptown Girl video. It’s 80’s cheesy, but that’s not why you can’t look away. Christy is gorgeous but has zero rhythm. Oh, oh and the group part at the end, she’s trying to snap but she’s concentrating!! 😂

    Sailor is gorgeous , like her beautiful supermodel mom, but it takes more than a pretty face. Charisma, wit and talent are also a necessity. Christie remained a one note wonder and didn’t have the depth to cross over into acting.
    Sadly, Sailor will be forever known as Christie’s daughter. The Willis girls can commiserate with her.

But why do so many show biz moms want to push their kids into the limelight & assume that simply being related to their parents is enough to make them stars? Why don’t they get their kids training in acting, music, dance, to try to help them develop some talent?

      My grandma is 92, falls frequently because of her blood pressure and never breaks anything, though she always has bad bruises. My mum was hit by a car. She had broken knee-cap-from the hit, and skull from the landing. She’s ok now, but I was told later 90%people don’t survive this. This runs in the family. I never broke anything, I’m almost 40.

    Broke my wrist in May, had one surgery, have another to go. I hope Spicer lasts longer than Sailor just to watch the temper tantrums.
