Back In College

June 15, 2020 Blind Gossip

[Blind Gossip] Have you ever wondered what your favorite – or least favorite – politician was like when they were younger?

We are talking about what they were really like, not the public relations spin they sometimes try to put on their early life.

Here is some insight as to what this famous and powerful male politician was like back in college!

I wish I could tell you awful, nasty things about him, but he was really a super nice guy back then.

He was very involved in student activities.

He was a familiar sight both in the dorm and on campus. He was always a do-gooder and always seemed interested in politics.

So perhaps he knew early on that he would end up being a politician.

I know many people have brutally criticized him for how he is running [redacted], but I still see the sweet, earnest undergrad.

Any other comments about how he is doing during this difficult time?

I think he is trying his best but is probably in over his head.

    Trump

Optional: on a scale of 1-10: smallest fractional interest of 1

History will not be kind I fear

Based on Bolton (and others’) revelations, he may end up being the first President in the history of the United States to be
    •charged
    •tried
    •convicted, and
    •imprisoned
    after leaving the White House

Alex Azar, HHS secretary. Random guess, but he’s facing criticism and likely in over his head with the pandemic. He’s an alum of Dartmouth (if the picture is a clue, as Faber College is from Animal House, which is based on Dartmouth).

I think Trump, because one of my best friends is a secret service agent for him and says that Donald and Melania are some of the nicest people he’s ever worked with.

I give him a 7. He’s effective but needs to learn when to shut up

    Donald Trump

Read an article where people who had an occasion to come in contact with him commented on his behavior. Except for one who obviously had a ax to grind, the others noted how genial and polite he was to them, especially when others around him were rude and entitled.

Guessing Trump based on the use of “nasty” could be a clue referring to the “nasty woman” remark.

DeBlasio. How on earth is everyone getting trump from a description of do gooder and involved in student activities. Not a hope of trump doing anything for someone else unless he benefits.

DeBlasio Gets a 5. Universal pre k has been great. Cops hated him from day one cause their unions are like the mafia, say one “wrong” thing and they bury you. Handling of mental health and homelessness has been dismal.

My guess is NYC Mayor DeBlasio.

    Politician: CA Guvnor-Gavin Newsom

[Optional] On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate his performance as a leader? Pretty dismal. He doesn’t come across well ‘live’ at all. Bloodshot eyes and he seems to be never fully present. I didn’t vote for him, nor will I ever…but California is worse with him at the helm.

Actually Bill DeBlasio sounds more like it than Trump. I forget people who don’t live on the East coast think of him as powerful. No way he was a sellout from the beginning. He may as well be Trump (who I never heard was that interested in politics).

Bill sold out to big real estate and supported Clinton over Bernie. He is not for the people any more than Trump was. He also tried to make us snitch on each other for being in groups and not wearing masks.

    Trump?
    7. Considering all the crap he’s had to deal with especially from Pelosi and crew, he’s handled it better than I would have. Do I wish he’d just shut up sometimes? Yep. He has my vote in November because I wouldn’t vote for Biden if he was the only person running.

DeBlasio. Seems to be really struggling with the NYC, Karens, protests, COVID, etc. Doesn’t help that Como openly criticizes him. Live upstate but would love to see him put a REAL stop to NYPD brutality. 7/10

    Trump?
If Trump I’d rate him 2 as leader. But low for Obama too.
All I could find on him was of course Fordham->Wharton major in Real Estate no honors. His campus life only centered around sports- varsity soccer, where he excelled. Didn’t find any do-gooder stories.

Did have a boss who had met him once at a business event. Boss was involved in a very small business but said he managed to talk to Trump who he said was gracious and interested in what he had to say.

I think this is now President Trump . No I do not care for his Presidency but I do think at the time of his book Art Of The Deal he was a very shrewd , profitable businessman , not a hack like people claim . He had the talent & vision for developing prime real estate . By all accounts he was a good people person & that includes us common folk . I can see him being like this . Of course the appetite for * & an upgrade in ego took over & here we are.

  25. ItsBouquet says

    Trump.

I rate him a zero. He’s supposed to the president of all, not just some. Leaders are meant to be neutral and diplomatic, not polarizing. Imagine if your parents constantly criticised you, while constantly praising your sister, and comparing the two of you at your expense, not even ever trying to hear you out? That’s my analogy about Trump.

    The Donald, Trump

Optnl: 5 – was doing pretty well until COVID-19 and the death of George Floyd. He pretty much bit it once COVID-19 started ramping up in mid-March.

Politician – Vice President Mike Pence
Both Mike Pence and Woody Harrelson went to Hanover College in Indiana, and knew each other as undergrads in the late 1970s. Woody Harrelson has said that Pence was a very nice guy and very religious when they were in college.
It is hard to rate Pence’s performance as a leader, as he is overshadowed by President Trump. Pence is very religious and socially conservative which is polarizing in a leader.

The source’s statements that “I wish I could tell you awful, nasty things about him” and the part about always showing in interest in politics hint at it being Donald Trump. The latter especially indicates this was not someone who immediately went into politics but still showed in interest.

  54. TruePatriot says

I believe this is the awesome Donald Trump who is NOT in over his head at all. He’s one of the toughest businessmen in the world, and if we look at his past interviews from 70s – 2015, he’s not changed his thinking much.
As a politician I would rate him at a 8 – only because of his sometimes appearing petulant which can come across as weakness. However, he’s not getting a fair shake from media at all.
