Charlize and The Pajamas Producer

[Blind Gossip] Charlize Theron was recently on the Howard Stern show with Seth Rogen. They were promoting their new movie, Long Shot.

During their conversation, Charlize told Howard about the inappropriate move a film producer once made during an audition.

While she does not name him, she does say that the producer was and is “very big deal” in Hollywood.

Her story starts with her agent setting her up to meet with the producer at the producer’s home on a Saturday night.

It was my first audition ever. I had just turned 19. I might have still been 18. I had never been out for an audition. I asked this modeling agent if she ever heard anything, I was going to give this acting thing a try. She said, “Yes, go to this guy’s house, it’s on Saturday at 9:00 [at night].”

I knocked on the door and he opened up the door and he was in his pajamas. Barefoot.

Uh oh.

The producer didn’t want her to read any pages for the audition. He just wanted her to sit very close to him on the sofa and talk while he drank and made a move on her.

Although Charlize Theron initially froze up when the producer physically made a move on her, she thankfully managed to get out of there.

It’s crazy… and girls talk about this where you just go blank… you don’t know what to do… but I left. I don’t even know how I got out of the house, but I left and I was driving my Ford Fiesta that I was renting up Laurel Canyon and I was so angry with myself that I didn’t say something. Why did I not tell him to go f*ck himself? It made me so angry!

If he did this to her, you can almost bet that she wasn’t the only one! It will be interesting to see if anyone comes out with a similar story about the same producer.

    No idea on the producer but Charlize Theron has no good reason to keep this guy’s name hidden at this point in her career. Put some of your considerable influence behind # Me Too. It is wrong to remain silent on this one.

    I do think it might be Tarantino.

    I’m assuming based on the timeline, her first movies were around 95-96.

    He had just directed Reservoir Dogs in 1992 and then Pulp Fiction 1994. After than, From Dusk til Dawn 1996 was his first big producing gig.

    And, hint “barefoot”. He has a foot fetish. He’s got a crazy foot scene I every movie.

      People abuse power too much in this world. I’m so sorry this happened to you as well as Charlize. I do love the fact that years later he wanted her for a movie so she went to the meeting and confronted him about it in front of his partner. Of course he would say he didn’t remember it. He probably couldn’t recall it because he did it to countless women! What a slime ball.

    Charlize Theron got her start on Cider House Rules: A Harvey Weinstien production. The orginal actress was booted because she would not….you know…with HW. Then, Theron ended up with the part. Hmm…..

      Cider House Rules was not her start; she was in quite a few movies before then going back to the mid-90s including some larger movies like Devil’s Advocate and That Thing You Do.

    Optional: I wouldn’t go on national tv or radio to tell my entire story and leave out who did it. Tired of this routine already.

      But YOU would take names and kick ass. You know what would happen? The predator would hit back. Rumors about drug addiction and risky behavior will be attached to you so no one will touch you. Your income will dry up and you will be unable to get work. You will be shut out and shunned by your peers. You might even be “accidentally ” seriously injured. I know people who “named names”. it didn’t turn out well for any of them. It needs to start small and build momentum.

      Amen, Violets. Share the full story or share no story. I also love the “I don’t know how I got out of there but remembers thinking she was angry she didn’t say something”. You remember details or you don’t. Methinks she consented to the sex (some girls choose to- their choice) but now wants her own victim story. I used to love Charlize.

      Reen57…. this particular actress is established and shouldn’t have to be vague. If one person starts naming these offenders hopefully others would too.

      Really? You’re tired of this ‘routine’. I’m extremely tired of men behaving this way towards woman and that this still happens so often. And it is still not a safe space for woman to come forward which is why she cannot name the person either. Who knows how many more he has done and will do this to. It’s people like you who make it even harder for victims. Disgusting honestly.

      I agree Violets. This type of stuff makes it harder for victims. She’s a very established actress. It would not affect her negatively and could actually help victims.

      I used to feel the same until it happened to me and I realized WHY these women don’t speak the perpetrator’s name. It is because we could be sued. The law does not support victims but speaking out in a way feels empowering and as a victim myself, you want to warn others…you want women to know what it feels like so they know they aren’t alone! What Charlize said in this interview-about how she felt after, why she didn’t scream or attack him back….all of it is textbook.

      Most models first starting out in movies usually start in action movies as arm candy so they don’t have as many lines or need to do overly dramatic scenes. My guess due to Charlize’s age and it happening in the 90s, it’s probably Michael Bay or Jerry Bruckheimer. Since it’s known how Michael Bay is horrible to his female stars, I’ll go with Michael Bay.
