[Blind Gossip] This TV actor is in trouble, but it looks like there are at least a few people willing to go to the mattresses for him!

His family, especially his siblings, are totally prepared to lie for him. If he wants them to help him pretend that his behavior is due to drugs or mental illness, they will come up with examples and stories to support that. The entire family’s reputation rests on getting him off the hook and keeping him working, so they will do whatever it takes.

We told you before that he would not be backing down. Now it looks like he may be roping in his family to help him double down!

    this is Jussie obviously …to those who have sympathy for him, would you still feel sympathy had you been arrested as his attacker ? maybe had your home, business or car destroyed in a riot. You do realize that riots have happened over things like this ?? Sick of hearing people defend him. This involved THREE black men , no white men were involved. He lied to the police and to Roberts in that interview misidentifying 2 black men as white men. That makes him a liar and a Racist.

    He can claim mental illness but is he criminally insane? NO. He pre-meditated this crime. He could have started a race riot. He needs jail time. And his family enabling him? Pathetic. He needs to be punished and that does not include community service. Who wants help from a self involved “mentally ill ” troublemaker? Jail and federal time, too. A planned, pre-meditated crime. Resources wasted. Shameful that he keeps doubling down and can’t deal with the consequences.

    This is a sad situation and I do think that mental illness figures into it. The police were right to charge him, but I hope that he gets the therapy that he needs.

This newest stunt isn’t all that surprising given his personality. I think he’ll keep denying it no matter what evidence is presented against him.

    I live in Chicago and knew this story was fake from the moment I heard it. I have zero sympathy for him and hope he gets prosecuted, fired and blacklisted from Hollywood forever. Besides jail, I think he needs to donate extensive time and money to real victims of the crimes he claimed happened.
    I’m waiting for him to blame the brothers for blackmailing him since he has nothing to lose at this point. Pure scum.

    Jussie Smollett ‘s family are a family of actors and they will support even if that that means they have to act like he is mentally ill or drug addicted. They’re actors so they will pull it off.
    I think he really is mentally ill and used his acting skills to lie for sympathy and publicity. I’m hoping he gets written off the show so he can focus on his mental well being.

    He’s been charged with a felony for which he could really do time (as opposed to paying a fine). I think he will go the mental illness route if it comes to trial. I also think a $100,000 bail and revoking his passport is way too much, completely punitive and possibly politically…

      Federal prison…really now? What he did was wrong and moronic, but it’s not like injured or killed anyone, stole anything, or even falsely accused a specific person. He probably won’t get anything worse than suspended jail time, counseling and community service, and that has nothing to do with him being a celebrity. His career is probably ruined, though. And, he can probably forget about working with any gay advocacy groups in reparation.

      Listen, I didn’t believe this young man from the story first came to light. It didn’t make sense. BUT I am NOT going to condemn him. It cannot be easy being a gay black male in America. My heart breaks for him because he must be going through a lot to have concocted all of this. He needs psychological help and support . Hopefully his lawyers can get probation or lesser charges (including the federal charges that will most definitely be filed). I am praying for him and I wish him well

      PLEASE!!! It was a twisted PR stunt from a twisted mind. He has (or had) his first solo album coming out March 2nd. THAT was his reason. He knows Empire is ending and wanted to start his next career. Lee Daniels told a similar story about his cousin’s assault and that gave him the idea. The sad part is he is very talented and he blew it.

I will condemn him and anyone else that makes light of hate crimes to better their own situation. I’m sure the tax payers in Chicago and the victims of other crimes, who were put on the back burner while the cops investigated this lie will agree.

      I am not saying he should go free. Quite frankly, I think he should be given at least 5 years probation.
      I am also not saying being gay and black is an excuse for his behavior. However, I have to think something very deep must be going on for him to have concocted all of this. Most definitely I think it starts with psychological help. Yes, he must be punished, but my heart genuinely breaks for him.
