Actor: Daniel Day Lewis

Both lead actor Daniel Day Lewis and his movie, Phantom Thread, were nominated for Academy Awards this year.

Neither won, but Lewis put in a stellar performance as a couturier living in London in the 1950s.

The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, but only walked away with one for Best Costume Design.

Did you know that Lewis has only done about two dozen movies over the course of his entire career?

He has won three Academy Awards (for Lincoln, There Will Be Blood, and My Left Foot), and has been nominated three additional times (for Phantom Thread, Gangs of New York, and In The Name of The Father).

Sadly, Daniel Day Lewis, 60, says that he is now retired from acting.

    Someone who had his teeth done! Really, I have no idea. I googled all the male nominees and none of them has teeth like that. It’s neither Denzel Washington nor Daniel Kaluuya, obviously, cause they’re black. I don’t think it’s Timothée Chalamet either. His hair is wavy. And it’s most likely someone older, cause the photo is black and white…

    I hope “Three Billboards” wins Best Picture. I think he was great, but so were Woody Harrelson and Richard Jenkins.

    Daniel Day Lewis. No. The greatest living actor in my opinion, will lose out to Gary Oldman who was spellbinding in the Darkest Hour. Though Oldman should thank the makeup team when he picks up his Oscar. They should share that acting award with him.

    DDL. I have had a famous person crush on him since Last of the Mohicans. Loved him in Name of the Father. Don’t know why but loved him as Bill the Butcher. Loved him in The Age of Innocence. He’s my fav.

    Daniel Day-Lewis ?

    He was an adorable looking youngster who blossomed into a handsome man and the best actor of his generation along with Denzel Washington. I don’t think he’ll add another trophy this year and hope he reconsiders retiring. He’s always magnetic and totally believable in any role he plays.

    It’s Daniel Day-Lewis.

    I don’t think he will win again this year. While acclaimed, his performance and film just haven’t had a lot of buzz. Gary Oldman will probably get it.
