Cash Guy Is Not Chatty

[Blind Gossip] This Hollywood hotshot is doing something interesting with his finances. Since mid-October, he has suddenly started going to the bank. In person. A lot.

In the past couple of months, he’s suddenly been taking out large amounts of cash every few days. Sometimes $7000, sometimes $8000, sometimes $9000. Always under $10,000. He’s not friendly or chatty. Just keeps his head down, shows his I.D., gets his cash, and leaves.

Now, we will point out that what he is doing is not illegal. It’s his money. He’s earned it over many years and many films. However, it is odd that he has suddenly started doing this in person and so regularly. As far as we know, he doesn’t have a drug or gambling problem.

Wonder what he is doing with all that cash?

    Here’s fun conspiracy theory for you: Tom Cruise is withdrawing the cash because Scientology peeps are next on the hit-list of #MeToo’s. David Miscavige is known to be a serial abuser, and I wouldn’t be surprised if little Tommy was taking a page out of his book!

    My first guess was Charlie Sheen for Hot Shots 1 & 2. I’ve seen Young Guns on TV a lot recently so he may be getting an influx of residuals he doesn’t want his exes or victims knowing about since he’s claiming he’s so broke…..

    I’m also guessing the Leo DiCrapio with the hotshots clue and he was in Basketball Diaries. Maybe he has to pay off someone who saw him in the act with one of his…

      I agree with it being Charlie Sheen. Hollywood “hotshot” was the clue for me. And the mention that he’s not using the money for drugs or gambling (which Sheen is known to partake in), why was it necessary to mention?

      I think Sheen has A LOT of dirty laundry that’s going to come out, so my guess would be hush money or plans to leave the country.

    I don’t know who it is. Maybe he’s afraid of economic collapse. More like, he’s moving his money to another country, like Dubai or Costa Rica, where they don’t have reporting laws and you can avoid being taxed. George Clooney and many others celebs travel to Dubai.

    Maybe he is older and is handing out cash to the homeless or just having fun going into stores and buying everything in cash. No idea who it is but as you say-he earned it, he’ll do what he wants with it.

    Don’t know who it is but a series of withdraws, under the $10,000 cap will still raise red flags and the bank is obligated to file a report with the IRS. His wife may not know but the Government will.

    No guess on who it is but that sounds shady. He is likely doing less than 10k because the bank is required to to report cash withdraws over 10k to the IRS. The bank may catch on to this though as I believe they watch out for people making multiple smaller withdrawals.

    Maybe this person is being blackmailed, or scammed. Or trying to hide money somehow if they are getting ready to have legal issues.

    Optional: He may be moving it to another account but he doesn’t want a paper trail between accounts. Could be he’s preparing for an impeding divorce (blindsiding his wife, no doubt) or he’s preparing to run in case some accusations start about him.

    IDK who but withdrawing more than $10k in cash in 30 days will result in a suspicious activity report being filed by the bank and whoever it is may get a visit from the Feds to ask them why they are doing this. Remember that this is how the FBI determined that congressman Dennis Hastert was paying off someone for sexual abuse. Its not a crime to withdraw less than $10k, but it is a crime to structure withdrawals to keep the amount less than $10k to avoid SAR reporting.

    ‘Hotshot’ makes me think of Tom Cruise in Top Gun. He’d be rich enough to be able to withdraw that much cash all the time. Maybe he is gambling? Or paying off people? Idk …

      Seems like he would really cause a stir, though, going into a bank. Unless he’s right in the middle of Hollywood, (where the Co$ happens to be located), and then he’s “just another creepy movie star…”

    Don’t know who this culprit may be but I believe if he withdraws or deposits cash over a certain amount it sets off a red flag to Feds.

      That would be 10K, which this guy is being careful to keep the withdrawals under that amount.

      Does he not know that repeated large cash transactions that are under the mandating reporting amount are also noted by the bank and the feds? It’s a crime called “structuring.”
