His Dating Pattern Is Not Funny

[Blind Gossip] He is a funny guy who has been the star of multiple TV series in the US and the UK. He currently does three or four films a year, mostly comedies and has played everything from a professor to a god.

Our actor has a “dating” pattern that he is now worried about.

He finds a young girl on set – an extra or someone with a line or two – who desperately wants a bigger career. He befriends them and volunteers to help them with their career and introduce them to the right people. Of course they are thrilled to have this big star take an interest in them!

Then he says he has an important contact in a different city and he’s traveling there next week and he would be happy to pay for their plane ticket and their hotel if they want to go, too. They always say yes. And then after he does all this for them, they feel obligated to sleep with him. After that, he pays them an allowance to be at his beck and call and travel with him.

We know that this has happened on two different films in the last two years. Does that make it a pattern yet?

By the way, the girls are approximately the same age as his daughter. In other words, they are half his age. He is worried that if people find out, they will think he is a dirty old man preying on young girls. The one who is traveling with him now is actually less than half his age. Not illegal, as she is over 18, but certainly questionable.

    Steve Coogan seems to fit the bill. A comedian who has starred in shows in both the UK and the US, and he has voiced Professor Flux in Minions & played the god Hades in the Percy Jackson movie.

    He’s done kids comedies (Kung Fu Panda, Shrek 3, Agent Cody Banks, Here Comes the Grump) , as well as Hot Rod and Cuban Fury. However, I wouldn’t say he does mostly comedies. For me the bigger issue is his age. ALL young girl would be less than half his age, not just the one just over 18. He’s also married, but he was supposedly quite the skirt chaser back in his boozing days.

      He has a daughter half his age? I coulda sworn he only just had his first baby. I spose it coulda been his first with his current girlfriend, though. Who’s the mom?

      No, wait: I don’t believe he’s done a lotta comedies. (He smolders too much to be funny. Sight.)

    Clearly Ricky Gervais, he plays God in a new movie and has been the star of the UK’s Office as well as shows in the US.

    Yes it is predatory behavior. He is grooming these budding female adults for his pleasure. He is setting them up to not trust men. He is setting them up to believe their worth is in how they look, behave & perform. At this point,it doesn’t matter who the “man” is. What does matter is that it is wrong on so many levels. I just wonder what his reaction would be to another man doing the same thing to his child.

    Not sure but I’m thinking Matt LeBlanc as a possibility … starrred in Friends snd Joey and has had success in the UK with a show The name of which escapes me. Also has a daughter that fits the demographic .

      There was two programmes. The comedy was “Episodes” with Stephen Mangan, Tamsin Greig and Kathleen Perkins- which got better and better but is sadly over. The other is “Top Gear” a motoring programme- surprisingly, leBlanc is a pretty good presenter (especially as he was as dull as dishwater on his appearance on the OG Top Gear USA)

    It would break my heart if this is Patrick Stewart. He plays Professor X in X Men, but having trouble finding a role where he played a god. He’s much better known for playing a captain, so there is still hope it’s not him.

    Sounds like Steve Coogan again… but I thought it was him for the last blind item. He has a daughter in her early 20s.

    The whole thing is a bit sad. You can look at it like the guy is preying on the girls, sure. But you could also look at it like he is obliged to buy young, attractive female attention because he doesn’t attract it naturally any more. At the end of the day you’d have to ask why he doesn’t want a mature relationship with a woman his own age and that’s the telling thing.

      Sounds to me like it’s more of a control thing than an inability to attract people, like he doesn’t want the mess and hassle of a real relationship, just to have someone at his beck and call.

      I think, at the end of the day, he needs to ask himself that question. I think it’s important that we continue to ask why he preys on girls.

      He played professor Fritz in minions and turned up as God in 24 hour party people. When it all comes out he will probably start harping on about press intrusion again or something.

    I would have said Adam Sandler because of what Rose McGowan disclosed about the casting notes for females in his films, but his daughters are too young, so it must be some other creep.

    TV star and funny films rules out Liam Neeson (Professor Kinsey, Zeus).

    Mark Addy? He did Still Standing and a few other bits in US, but is usually in UK. Professor could be his role in Time Machine? God would be Hercules on Atlantis a few years back. I hear he’s still married and prefers stage, tho? Daughter should be of legal age (his IMDB bio hasn’t been updated in ages, lists all three kids in single digits yet.) No, not enough movies on his cv.
