When this superstar retired, he was one of the top NBA scorers of all time.

He was dining at fancy restaurant in Las Vegas last night. However, he wasn’t behaving in a very MVP way.

He said he was feeling sick to his stomach. Instead of going to the restroom, though, he asked the server for a bowl. Then he threw up in the bowl. Then he handed it back to the server to deal with and continued with his dinner.

Classy! Maybe he should consider changing his name to Al Throwup.

Athlete: Retired NBA player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

This gross event took place at a high-end Asian restaurant in Las Vegas in 2017.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar asked his server for a bowl, threw up in the bowl, and then handed it back to the server!

Ewww.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Well, except when you tell Blind Gossip.

We don’t know what was going on with Jabbar that night.

Maybe he had a stomach flu?

Maybe he ate or drank something that didn’t agree with him?

Maybe it was a result of a cancer treatment? Jabbar was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008. He announce that he was in remission in 2011, but we haven’t heard much else since.

We hope he is doing OK.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has an really interesting life story.

He was a big baby. At birth he weighed 12 lb 11 oz. By the eighth grade, he had grown to 6 ft 8 in tall and could already slam dunk a basketball!

Jabbar converted to Islam in 1968, but did not begin publicly using his Arabic name until 1971.

Did you know that Jabbar was so dominant with his dunking move – called “The Skyhook” – during college that dunking was actually banned in the NCAA from 1967 to 1976?

Jabbar famously boycotted the 1968 Summer Olympics to protest racism in the United States.

Yes, 1968 was the same year that two runners gave the black power salute on the medal stand.

Although Jabbar refused to play for the United States Men’s Olympic Basketball team, they went on to win the gold medal.

The Harlem Globetrotters offered Alcindor $1 million to play for them –  a huge amount of money at the time – but he declined and was picked first in the 1969 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jabbar played for the Bucks from 1969–1975. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jabbar played for the Lakers from 1975–1989.

Jabbar was close friends with Lakers teammate Magic Johnson.

There is no doubt that Kareem is one of the best basketball players of all time:

  • He played 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA)
  • He was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) six times
  • He was named to the NBA All-Star Team 19 times
  • He was a member of six NBA championship teams

Whew! That’s a lot of accomplishments.

And he’s still a handsome man today.

We gave you two clues in the blind item.

One was about Nick Young, who played for The Los Angeles Lakers at the time the original blind item was published (We call him One Minute Man).

The other was “… changing his name to Al Throwup.” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. back in 1947, but later changed his name to Kareen Abdul-Jabbar.

    I thought it might be Kobe Bryant, but the name change swayed me to Jabbar

    No way is this Kareem or anyone except Allen Iverson.. he loves gambling in Vegas and has a drinking problem which may have contributed to his upset stomach. Loved his play on the court but he has no class off it, that’s very disrespectful for him to do.

    Also he played on the 76ers and Lakers as did Nick Young.

    He threw up in a bowl and then continued with his dinner? Is he that stupid that he doesn’t know that you don’t continue to eat after throwing up? No idea on this creep, but I would refuse to take the bowl and show him to the restroom. I wonder if he maintained a friendship with the people he was eating with that night. I would bail on such an ill-mannered person no matter who they were

    I’m going with Ron Artest, a.k.a. Metta World Peace. Known for his rebounds and PPG (ended up 22nd in NBA history?) and his awful behaviour. Retired last season from the Lakers (Nick Young’s team) and is just generally insane, so this doesn’t altogether surprise me.

    He was a leading scorer when he retired, MVP award winner , he’s part of the Big3 league now, which puts him in Las Vegas a lot, and , of course, “Al.”

    WTF?!?!
    I wouldn’t know what to say…or how to react because i do not know any one person who would do something so vile and disgusting.
    But…I would prob ask if they were serious and if so i would INSTANTLY kick them out…and that would be the end of our friendship.
    If i were the waitress I would remind him of were the little boys room was. Then I would walk away and alert security…seriously im not physically handling that.

    Well, from the clues i noticed, I’ve narrowed it down to either kobe bryant or karl malone. Malone is #2 all time scoring and i think kobe is #3.
    Both have won the mvp as well.

    Clues: MVP (5 time mvp), superstar (his Adidas are called Superstars), changing name (born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr) and he was one of the top NBA scorers of all time. This actually makes me really sad because I like Kareem

    Clues: changed his name from Lew Alcindor, similar blind is about an LA Lakers player, Highest scoring player of all time, MVP numerous times.

    If someone did that at thanksgiving dinner, they would not be invited back!

    Hmmm top 4 scorers are Kareem, Kobe, Malone & Jordan … Kareem was MVP 6 times, Kobe 11 times, Jordan 5 times and Malone 2 times …

    Doesn’t sound like Kobe at all, but that’s my guess.

      On second thought, Kareem is also in the top 4 most rebounds of all time so I’m changing my answer to Kareem.

      Well, Nick Young was not the only clue…it’s not at all illogical the clues about a name change refer to KAJ’s very famous name change. I’m clearly not the only one who made that connection. I don’t have a horse in this race either way, but you seem to have a real emotional interest here. So I hope you find some closure.

      Kareem was in Las Vegas this month. He had cancer in 2009, so I’m certain he went through his share of nausea and vomiting. Whoever it is, I hope they are ok.
