[Blind Gossip] It is no secret that this singer is fond of prettying up snaps of herself before being placed on album covers or magazine articles. However, she is getting more and more obsessive over it.

Her team would take her the photo, and then come back and tell the photo editor that she wanted to “just shave a little more off” her waist, her hips, her legs. This happened FOUR TIMES for one photo! The editor was just sort of laughing, “ten pounds here, ten pounds there.” He thinks he took off at least forty pounds. Of course it looks unrealistic, but she doesn’t care.

It sounds like she has an image of herself in her head and she wants the photo to match that image, not reality.

    Sounds more like Beyonce than MC. Mariah is vain and self obsessed but she’s been photographed with arm fat, a gut and flabby thighs. All in a skin tight outfit.

    Beyonce NEVER releases a photo that isn’t “perfect”. Also the reference to “prettying” up. Beyonce’s song, Pretty Hurts.

    I know everyone guessed Mariah, and though it does sound like it could be her, it could also be Jessica Simpson, whose weight has fluctuated 40 pounds up and down in the past year alone, and is also known for her love of photoshopping

    Yup, you bet I would! Why not? But maybe with more subtle things, like hiding my neck in some shadow, and maybe not taking as, many pounds off. Or a more subtle outfit. I dunno. I say good for her, if it makes her feel better. I think she is still hurting over her breakup with Packer.

    Mariah Carey on the cover of Paper Nah. She’s a legend at this point so why keep doing that Photoshop nonsense? Why? If she wants to look like she does on the cover of that magazine irl then she’ll have to put down the wine glass and the pills and hit the gym. Hire a trainer/nutritionist/chef. And stop airbrushing!

    There’s a story about fans calling MiMi out on her obvious photoshop job and telling her to embrace her body, she’s not thin and she should just get over it and give her younger fans something to look up to. What are the odds? I’d say slim and none, with the smart money on none.

    If she’s unhappy with how she looks she should do something about it. Not just rely on Photoshop

    I’m thinking Mariah. I was in Vegas a few months ago and there was a huge mural/billboard of her on the side of one of the casinos. It was heavily photoshopped. I said to myself, “She hasn’t looked that slim since the Stone Age!”

    I’d want a flattering photo, to be sure. But I’d also want it to be a realistic image of me, not an illusion or sweet, sweet fantasy baby…
    Drop a few lbs. and reflect reality sweetie, give your cute dancer BF and crew a break, not a back breaker trying to heft this helfer up during shows. Moo Mimi, moo.

    Other than correcting shadowing, no. I used to date a pro-photog who would spend hours “fixing” utterly perfect 18yr old girls… I had broken my nose and had major reconstruction surgery – sent him a pic of my bruises swollen face. When he was done, I looked nothing like myself. Who wants that? If I am *that* uncomfortable with my appearance, I’ll decline a photo.

    If I were her instead of asking for editors to magic away a quarter of my body mass in photos, I’d start wearing clothes that actually fit and are age appropriate.

    Maybe she has a form of dysmorphobia like me. I lost 50 pounds but I don’t see the difference.I see the difference with the size of my clothes but nothing on the pic or in the mirror

    This refers to the latest shoot for Paper. The pictures are hilariously retouched, but hey – it’s Mariah, she always seems to get what she wants.

    If I was her, I wouldn’t be doing ridiculous photo shoots like that in the first place. If she’s that unhappy about the way she looks maybe she should cut down on the booze and get herself a personal trainer.

    [Optional] If you were her, would you ask that your photos be modified? Slightly so it’s still realistic as possible. If I didn’t like my body – especially with that kind of money – I most certainly do something about it (getting healthy being my first priority) but that’s just me.

    At first I thought Adele but I think she has accepted being full figure more cushion etc. woman. This is probably Mariah Carey who hasn’t . By the way thin girls like Taylor Swift are gassier because their bodies can’t absorb it and has to let it loose in a blehp or a Phhht !

    Poor Mariah Carey. She is so delusional to go so far in the photoshopping. That new cover looks bad.

    I would like to think if I was her I wouldn’t have lost touch with reality. She should dress her age and shape. I hate seeing people dressing for what they used to be, whether it’s dressing too young or wearing skimpy clothes when they shouldn’t. Life is too short to live in the past.

    I might not ask for my photos to be modified, but with her money I would employ a chef, trainer, etc to stay at a healthy weight.

    Just saw she’s on the cover of Paper and it looks nothing like her irl. I would only have wedding photos touched and not my body, probably just blemishes or shine of visable, my body I’d rather put the work in and have it look right in person not just photos

    I’m all for photoshopping. I did that to my passport photo. Smoothed out my skin. Added a little hair in the right places. Best I ever looked!

      Wow, in Canada you’re not allowed retouch your passport, license etc. to ensure accuracy. These are not about vanity but public safety and confirming ID.

      I honestly think Kelly Clarkson is above such things. This sounds much more like Mariah, since everything in her world is all about Mimi.

      I doubt Kelly Clarson has any problem with her size. She knows her weight varies from time to time and she is pretty concious that sometimes she is overweight (and couldn’t care less)

    Mariah Carey, people know what you look like and can spot photo shopping a mile away. Most celebrities photoshop to some extent, but you shouldn’t over do it. It should still look like you.

      I agree, especially since she just released a photo of herself in a stomach baring outfit, and everyone that comments says it’s been airbrushed or photoshopped. Do they really think people believe the photos they put out? LOL
