Trouble Remembering Simple Things

[Blind Gossip] It is not an exaggeration to say that this man is a film legend. He has starred or co-starred in dozens of films.

He is slowing down.

Most days he seems sharp, but other days he has trouble remembering very simple things like the names of people he’s known for thirty or forty years or where the drinking glasses are kept in the kitchen. He does have a doctor treating him. There are still people begging him to do projects with them, but I don’t know how much longer he can keep working.

    Clint Eastwood? He’s 87 and directing a movie now. Kudos to him, but you know he can’t work like he did 20 years ago.

    I’m guessing Harrison Ford. He was in the movie Regarding Henry where his character gets shot in the head and cannot remember anything. First time poster! Hello!

    What about Arnold Schwarzenegger? A clue could be the word “exaggeration” which is similar to his last name. He’s 70 and I’m sure he used steroids in the past, which could be affecting his brain now.

    He should enjoy his time now and not worry about making more movies. He’s done a great, great job and will always be loved.

    I hate that this is either De Niro, Pacino or Freeman… Possibly all three. Relax! It’s OK to take a break. All have had wonderful careers and deserve to relax.

    [Optional] Should he keep working or completely step away from the business? Whomever it is, step away. It’s just a job and as much as this person has obv already worked, they don’t need the money. Time to rest.

    Optional: if he wants to, and the people around him want to, let him work.

      I should add that I am sad because I think this sounds like it is Alzheimer’s or related, not because of aging.

    Is this Anthony Hopkins? (‘Legends’ of the Fall. Also the graphic reminds me of Dr Lecter). It’s a shame but that’s old age.

    First he should step away from the cockpit od any airplane. And yes, just retire quietly.

    I think this is Jack Nicholson.

    He should do whatever he is comfortable doing. My mom has Alzheimer’s, and we try encouraging her to do as much as she can. Sadly, she’s at the stage where she doesn’t always recognize her family. ?

    Haven’t seen much of Jack so I don’t know if people are clamoring at his door to make movies, though.
    Harrison has been rumored to have some memory problems. After he landed on the taxiway at SNA, there were comments.

    For some reason, this makes me think of Harrison Ford.
    I think “slowing down” is a clue, but I can’t figure out who it’s pointing to.

    Optional: I think he should keep working if he wants to. Staying engaged is crucial in fighting Alzheimer and dementia.

    Retire, he earned it. Memorizing lines of hard to do with dementia setting in.

    Optional: not sure who this is but it’s very very sad. I have a loved one with dementia & seeing the deterioration that some people face is awful. It’s also very frustrating for them. I think if he is capable & wants to keep working great. But if it is just too much he or his loved ones should do what’s best for him.

    Harrison Ford is the only one I can think of. He doesn’t seem all that sharp in piloting an airplane anyway.

    I think it’s think for him to retire and enjoy life…most of all stop flying!!

    I am gonna say Al Pacino because the picture you show reminds me of Grey’s Anatomy and he starred as Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Plus I think you mentioned him having trouble with his memory from before.

    I think he should keep working for as long as he can. Once you give up, that’s it, game over. Hopefully he can still get bit parts if full time roles are too challenging.

    Gotta be Harrison Ford. The incident with the airplane. And in interviews these days he always seems like he’s right on the verge of not knowing where he is. Take care of him Calista. He’s a national treasure.

      That is so sad! I think that last accident, where he crashed and hurt his head, probably led to this. 🙁

    Jack Nicholson. There was an article a few years back that said he had retired from acting due to an inability to memorize his lines. He should stay retired and enjoy his golden years. I wish him the best as he is a national treasure in the arts.

      Well said; Couldn’t agree more. And whoever it is, I hope they stay in retirement (or retire), or only do the occasional cameo or guest spot acting or helping out in some other way (if being on set brings them happiness). Really though, It’s best to get on a schedule and be around very familiar people who care about you. Anyway, seeing as it’s someone who’s gifted us with entertainment over the years, I really wish him well.

    Harrison Ford or Jack Nickolson?

    Rather than embarras himself or watch his own star dim, the screen legend should step away and focus on retaining and improving his cognitive skills and functioning. Surround himself with supportive family members and friends who keep him alert and grounded before his health deteriorates irreparably.

    Robert De Niro also has huge memory problems for 15 years.
