Pretty Little Recall

[Blind Gossip] You probably know by now that the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is facing a recall election in a couple of weeks.

The California Gubernatorial Recall Election is fascinating because it started out as a far-fetched effort by Republican activists. However, a series of missteps by Newsom in the past year gave the effort real momentum and made the recall election a reality.

It’s a difficult situation for Democrats because Newsom was once considered their golden boy… and a likely future candidate for President of the United States.

That’s all up in the air now!

Gavin Newsom is closely aligned with both Vice President Kamala Harris and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. All three represent/represented California.

Here are Harris and Pelosi cheering on President Biden at his first State Of The Union address.

Both President Biden and Vice President Harris were scheduled to come out to California and personally campaign for Gavin Newsom this month, but they suddenly canceled after that whole Afghanistan debacle.

So now it’s all about Newsom and his challengers.

Did you know that there are literally dozens of people on the ballot trying to replace Newsom?

So many celebrities and politicians and political wannabes have thrown their hats in the ring that it’s been challenging for some of the contenders to get adequate press coverage.

Here’s a quick story about something that happened at a recent event for one of the more well-known candidates.

A female reporter asked the candidate a question.

The candidate began their response by calling the reporter a “pretty little girl.”

It was a little shocking to hear a candidate for public office refer to a grown professional woman that way! Especially in this day and age. My jaw dropped.

Perhaps [The Candidate] thought they were being complimentary. However, they certainly didn’t make any reference to the physical appearance of any of the male reporters!

Friendly? Flirtatious? Or cringey?

    I pray he’s recalled! Most of Cali looks like a 3rd world country with what he’s allowed the homeless to do. The other part of Cali he just lets burn to the ground year after year. Kevin Kiley has my vote, he’s the one person who has been stopping Newsom in court these past few years.

    Caitlyn Jenner. She’s still attracted to women, but was probably just trying to be cute or clever. I think the male candidates are too conscious of the “me too” movement to take chances. I never found it offensive to be complimented by men.

    NEWSOM NEEDS TO GO! I live in CA and besides the fact that he is smug in his cocky I-don’t-follow-my-rules character you all should follow his paper trail/ how much money he makes off of us while the homelessness & crime keep skyrocketing (you have no idea what my own neighborhood has become)His very actions are encouraging this. He is as NASTY as his aunt Pelosi. and it has nothing to do with him being D. I know a lot of D’s that signed the recall. He won’t ever be prez.

    Newsom needs to go. The disabled/chronically ill high risk in CA actually had to beg, mobilize, advocate and beg some more to get him to prioritize them for COVID vaccine priority. He wouldn’t follow CDC guidance and he put lobbyists’ groups ahead of those at highest risk of death.

    Newsome will be recalled. Nancy Pelosi’s nephew is out.
    Larry Elder will be the first black Republican Governor in California history.

    Optional: The recall happened because the judge let the republicans get extra signatures due to the pandemic. If he’s already been attempted to be recalled five times; a sixth time can easily be shut down. Especially since there’s a bunch of candidates on the ballot.
    Projected winner is: Newsom due to how well he’s handling the pandemic.

      Mishmash123- When did I mention elder? Vote for ANYONE Jesus. Do SOMETHING. This state needs serious HELP. I have to call 911 multiple times a week thanks to the no help, money pocketing, greasy CA politicians. Their policies are making things WORSE not better. They need to go and if you can’t see that because you are blinded by the word democrat you might want to turn on the tv and see how much those Dems really care about you and this country!

    Larry Elder is the leading opposition candidate, but he’s too extremist, so I voted for someone else. The ballot is such that you can vote to recall Newsom without choosing a replacement, which is what a lot of people tell me they’re doing. It’s too bad a strong moderate candidate didn’t gain more momentum; CA is in desperate need of solid, sensible leadership, not the fringe lunacy we’ve endured for too long.

    I think/hope Gavin with the good hair is toast. Calling Larry Elder a white supremacist is pretty desperate. He might of lucked out with Kamala and Biden not coming out. All of the deaths came out of Camp Pendleton and I can’t imagine the reception either one of the Chief Incompetents would have .
    I thought Gavin was the blind of the Halloween party without masks last year. It’s too bad tar and feathers went out of fashion.

    I think the flirty candidate is Caitlyn Jenner.

    Larry Elder will be the next Governor of California…..Pelosi is unfit in every possible way…Her husband made 100 million dollars last year…Inside trading, cough cough…Harris was picked as the Vice President because of her skin color..Remember at the debates she did call Liar Joe a racist…..No way did 81 million Americans legally vote for that Unfit Creep in the White House…The far-Left robbed the real winner the election…13 poor souls lost because a madman is sitting in the WH.

    This is easy, it was Caitlyn Jenner and I don’t even live in CA. Maybe she was just trying to be nice but given the circumstances, it was uncalled for.
    Bill Maher talked about the recall effort on his show and it was not a flattering portrayal.

    I doubt the recall will succeed. Just as well, because though I’m not a Newsome fan, no one on the ballot is even remotely qualified for the job. Ok maybe the former mayor of San Diego (and I’m independent – not with either party) could possibly be ok.

    I used to see Bruce at the gym all the time. He was a bit of a snob and out of touch then, and she seems to still be.

    Probably Larry Elder, he’s disgusting. I hope Newsom survives the recall. He’s not perfect but I think he’s done a good job overall.

      1. Gave a Chinese manufacturer $1 BILLION deal for masks. That company made terrible masks. I use them at work and they itch like heck. Nice, right?
      2. Approved release of 76,000 inmates early, including violent offenders, with little advance notice to victims.
      3. Dined maskless at birthday dinner party at French Laundry while telling the public to avoid socializing and wear masks (this was during the spike last winter).
      Just some examples.
      Pray tell, how can anyone say he did a good job?

    This is probably that loose cannon Larry Elder trying to flirt. He is our best chance to win, if we can boot out oily-haired Newsom.

    Yes I think Gavin should be recalled. California can’t keep their power on, they have homeless people everywhere, pollution, drug addicts shooting up on the street, people pooping and peeing on the street, insane taxes and property values. Gavin is a also a big believer in rules for thee but not for me. He dined at the French Laundry but closed all the restaurants to everyone else. He will never be President now.

    OK…so he’s not the greatest. But why can’t Republicans wait until his next election? Same thing with Gray Davis. Why can’t GOP folks wait until the appropriate election instead of costing taxpayers extra $$$$ with these recalls? Here on the East Coast, we wait until the candidate has to run again. We like to hold down election costs.

    I’m not sure which candidate said that (in very bad taste). However, I am hoping the recall works and Newsome leaves office. He is an elitist who lives by his rules yet forces the citizens to live under other, draconian, rules. He doesn’t care about the citizens, this was supposed to be a stepping stone on his way up. I hope this ruins that little dream of his.

    It was John Cox. I seriously doubt Larry Elder would have said that since he has been communicating with people on the radio for decades and would know better. And Newsom will stay in office with California continuing to go to hell in a handbasket.

    California voter here, yes on recall, Larry Elder has my vote.

    Candidate: Joe Biden! He loves talking to and touching the “pretty young things!” Plus, he thinks Kamala is the President and he needs a position since he’s no longer a Senator. Stop looking at that watch and get busy, Joe!
