A Robsten Gamble

[Blind Gossip] We’ve told you before about acting couples who have used a personal relationship to promote their project.

It’s sometimes a gamble.

Remember Robsten? The Twilight “couple” consisting of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart that launched a thousand tabloids? 

They’re dating! In love! Moving in together! Having a baby! Getting engaged! Getting married!

All fake.

Your friends at Blind Gossip even told you when the couple was scheduled to break up (see The Sun Is Setting On This Relationship for details).

However, there is no denying that Pattinson and Stewart were very effective at promoting the franchise and themselves as a “real-life” couple. Everything should have gone smoothly, including the end of the “relationship.”

Unfortunately, Stewart made a mistake and the end wound up being ugly.

As the Robsten relationship was scheduled to wind down, Kristen Stewart got careless. She was caught playing kissy face with director Rupert Sanders.

Whoops!

It was game over after that.

Stewart had embarrassed Pattinson. Robsten “broke up” quickly and permanently.

And, for the past five years, Kristen Stewart has only dated women.

The actor and actress we are now going to tell you about should pay attention to that little cautionary tale.

There is a movie that will be a big hit at the box office once it is released.

It stars a handsome male movie star and a pretty actress.

Given how hard the film industry has been hit, they are going to need to try every trick in the book to promote this one. That includes making them a couple off screen.

Why should this couple – and their publicists – pay attention to Robsten?

Because the actress is in a serious relationship with someone. And we don’t know how long she is going to be able to keep that hidden.

Oh, and our actress might not be straight.

How would our male movie star deal with that?

While some actors might be able to go with the flow as long as the actress didn’t reveal anything during their relationship, [our Actor] is different.

He has always been very concerned about his reputation, and he would consider any revelation, even after they break up, to be a direct reflection on him and his masculinity.

So, fake is fine… as long as she plans to maintain that fakeness forever!

This could be interesting.

Let’s see if they simply seed “couple” rumors to spark public interest – without either of them having to commit to anything – or if they actually do a full-on contract relationship.

    Tom Cruise & Hatley Atwell.

    It sounds like Chalamet and Zendaya at first, but there’s no rumours about her homosexuality but about his (and i doubt he cares that much about his masculinity giving his style).

    Zendaya and Holland were very fake, but charming and not obnoxious like most of this promotional couples

    Let me clarify…Selleck, Voight and Woods are all older than I. I said I was too old for Woods because rumor has it that he likes the 20-somethings.

    I don’t follow Hollywood much, so I don’t even know what movies are coming out.

    Honestly, yeah, if the money was great, I would do a fake relationship. I am a grandma, so unless a young guy had a cougar thing going on, it would have to be an older actor. Tom Selleck! No, he’s been my crush since the 80s, so I couldn’t fake relationship that…that’s my dream relationship, lol. Maybe Jon Voight? We could talk politics and have common ground. I am waaaay too old for James Wood!!

    Tom Cruise & Jennifer Connelly in the new Top Gun movie. Tom frequently pulls this stunt.

    No, I wouldn’t get involved in a fake relationship. It’s weird & I don’t like to lie about anything.

    This has GOT to be Tom Cruise with Hayley Atwell! Who else could POSSIBLY be this a*** about what an actress does, even AFTER they break up, and consider it to be a reflection on his masculinity?? I frankly figured that he had sworn off fake-dating women forever. (But how does he get around not talking to most of the world?)

    Optn: If I was young again, sure, why not? Well not with Tom, but Ronan Farrow, yes!!! But I would include some fake-kissing as well.

    I feel like this is Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya for the film Dune. Dunno why, just feels right.

    Tom Cruise for the actor, it doesn’t matter what they try for him, we will all KNOW it’s bs. Tom has been waving his, “creepy flag” far to long. If they’re covering up his alleged gay rumors, no one cares about that, it’s not a big deal. Tom has “jumped the shark”, he’s so over.

    Seems like it may be Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya. Dune is coming out soon-ish and there are rumors that Zendaya is not straight. Timothee has dated co-stars in the past (Lily-Rose Depp, “The King” which co-starred Pattinson !!) & Zendaya is also frequently rumored to be in relationships with the male co-stars of her bigger projects.
    HOWEVER, Timothee doesn’t strike me as the type to be overly concerned about his rep.

    Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell… they’re filming Mission Impossible 7 right now, and today, photos of them giggling in a car together just “happen” to have been released

    I don’t know who they are but Actor is a fool not to fully promote the movie. And seeing the woman you were dating with another woman after you break up is also another reason why it wasn’t you that was the problem – it had nothing to do with his “masculinity”.

    If he was smart, he would find a way to include the significant other in the breakup for the publicity it would generate (assuming actress wanted to use it as a way to publicly come out)

    I’ve said many times I’m done having kids, but I would have a full-on fake marriage and a dozen of Zachary Levi’s babies. That man is FINE.
