Not Batman And Robin

[Blind Gossip] There may be an investigation soon into an odd relationship between a notable adult man and a child.

The adult man says that the teenage boy who has been living with him is his son.

His son?

What the… ?

Dad is a single man, nearly 40, never married… and this is the first time he has ever mentioned having a child.

How did this “son” happen?

I can’t find the paperwork on this one for either adoption or fostering.

Nor is the child related to him.

Basically, there is no “legal” reason for the child to be in his home.

Can an adult – even one who is prominent – take in a minor and simply proclaim himself the “parent” of the child?

Is this like Bruce Wayne taking in the young Dick Grayson as his ward so they can become the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin?

Probably not.

In addition, the adult man in this story has a history of alcohol abuse. And he’s a politician.

Both of those conditions seem to make a person more prone to lying.

And that’s no joke.

We can’t say for sure that there is something nefarious going on. Perhaps everyone is on the up and up and and there is simply some paperwork glitch that is being worked out.

However, for the time being, something is odd here.

And a little creepy.

    Oh damn until this moment I really thought Matt Gaetz was married with other kids. Okay that’s totally weird and fishy!

    I’m not sure why people aren’t asking about the kid’s legal status here. We’re just supposed to believe that a 12 year old CHILD legally immigrated from Cuba in 2014 and has been living with someone with no guardianship of him? I haven’t even been able to get kinship guardianship of my cousin’s children in foster care in a different state because florida DCFS doesn’t want to place them out of state. There’s no way he’s just living with MG under the table.

    Matt Gaetz. I just don’t see the problem. The boy lived with him since age 12 and continues to do so. He is the brother of ex-girlfriend. I think it’s admirable of MG to continue offering a stable home environment to the boy while Nestor continued his schooling and adapting to America. The fact that MG and the girlfriend broke up is irrevelant. He did a good thing – if he was a Democrat, he would be held up as a poster boy of how everyone should treat immigrants. Just saying….

    This is def. Matt Gaetz. I can’t believe this guy is in office.

    For those who don’t know or remember: Matt Gaetz is the ONLY person who voted no on the anti-human trafficking bill. His reasoning is very suspect. He doesn’t want law enforcement to collaborate w/ anti-trafficking groups. One has to wonder “why?”

    I know of two cases where an adult man raised a young man not related to him. In one case, it was the son of his ex-live-in girlfriend. In another case it was a gay man, who took a 14-year-old hustler off streets and into his home. The young man is grown now, and doing well in life. In neither instance was it sexual.
    So I will not jump to conclusions here.

    Matt Gaetz. He is the brother of his ex-girlfriend who he was living with at the time. Then the boys father died while they were all living together. After they broke up, the young man stayed so as not to have to move and change schools. He is now going off to college. Nothing dirty going on no matter how salacious you’d like to believe.

    It’s Matt Gaetz and Nestor, whom he considers his son. At the age of 12, Nestor arrived from Cuba legally after his mother died from cancer. Matt was dating Nestor’s older sister at the time, and they all lived together. Nestor continued to live with Matt after Matt & his girlfriend broke up. Nestor is now 19. I don’t think anything inappropriate is going on, especially after Matt has gone public with this.

    Though the situation would seem obvious, it may actually be innocent. He took in the boy at 12 – not sure even a Florida Republican could be that twisted 🙁

    Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz suddenly has a son. He’s had the son since he was age 12. now age 19. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is something fishy going on.

    I’ve never heard of a politician hiding their kids to such an extent, although I can imagine the lack of a legal relationship would raise questions. That said, a politician of Gaetz’s stature would have the means to at least become the legal guardian. I’d guess things aren’t quite what they appear.

    I don’t know who this is, hopefully the paperwork will show up.

    But this wouldn’t be the first time a celebrity back channeled an illegal adoption. Happened with a very well known actress twice who went through a notorious Russian “baby broker'”- Galina something. In one of her adoptions an Asian country shut the doors to western adoptions for a while .

    I hope this adoption is legit but money and power can weasel it’s way around the law leaving broken hearts in it’s wake.

    There are lots of fellow politicians speaking up for him taking in that teen in a spirit of kindness, so even though he’s done and said terrible things, it’d be nice if he had a nurturing side. But what a horrible example he’s setting for that kid.
    Shouldn’t he have some sort of legal guardianship on paper though?
