[Blind Gossip] This musical entertainer is worth well over $100 million.
He is quite famous, and whenever you see his events, they are always sold out.
He must be amazingly popular, right?
We have a little secret to tell you.
Those packed venues are the result of some manipulation.
[An opening act] was so excited to get booked to play with him in [city].
Of course they were. Performing before him would be great exposure for a less famous act.
His management contacted the venue to see how ticket sales were going. They were going well, but the event was not sold out.
Here’s where the manipulation comes in.
Since it was not completely sold out, [Performer] cancelled the show.
Just because it’s not completely sold out? Why would he do that?
He thinks that if any photos get out there of him performing to less than a sold out crowd, it would be very damaging to his image. It’s less damaging to just cancel the show and disappoint the fans.
By the way, since the show was cancelled, the opening act did not get paid. That’s how we found out about all this.
Was this a one off?
Nope.
He does this ALL. THE. TIME. He does it because it works. He loses money on the performances he cancels, but he gets to brag that every time he performs, it’s sold out.
Why don’t the venues and the other artists straight up call him out on this instead of just dancing around the topic?
He is too famous. If they expose him, he might never work with them again or perform in their venue again.
That does put them between a rocky and a hard place.
The next time you see a photo of him performing to a sold-out crowd, just know that plenty of other people and venues got f*cked over in the process.
The only reason he enjoys the career he does is because he is an amoral, f*cking thieving bastard. Someone needs to expose him.
Done.

[Optional] Which living music entertainer do you think is the most amoral?
core44d says
It’s 100% Jay Z. And coming from someone who studies concert trends, “Sold out” is an exaggerated term here, as I don’t think he “sold out” 1 show on his last 4:44 Tour. I just know some were waaay closer to capacity than others and yes, he did cancel various shows citing “production issues”
Roeshamred says
I think it’s Jay-Z as well. He has cancelled concerts and given no reason. Also did not reschedule. He is an entertainer, not a singer and I think he would usually have an opening act.
lunadogmom says
Kanye or Jay Z are my guesses.
spoofbyrd says
I so hope this isn’t Hugh Jackman . He is known for being appreciative of his fans . I am going to throw Kid Rock into the mix . Amoral or immoral ? Tommy Lee is pretty bad .
itstarapagain says
I don’t know who this is… maybe Bieber?
The entire music business is amoral. Payola, organized crime, sexual assault/harassment, drugs, ripping off and exploiting the artists and ripping off anyone who wants to see live music. It’s one ugly business.
As far as the most amoral artists? Jay z and his wife, the insufferable Beyonce. He is a real piece of work and Tidal was, imho, a giant fraud. And everything about those two is fake.
As for the business itself? Too many to name.

“Rocky” = Rocky Raccoon
“Hard” = Hard Day’s Night
“Straight” = Straight No Chaser (Wonderful Christmastime)
core44d says
I do not know who this is, but as someone who follows concert trends, I can tell you who it isn’t.
It isn’t:
Billy Joel- his once a month MSG shows for the past 3 years are genuinely “sold out.” Plus, he has played MANY non-sold out shows across the country.
Elton John- a $90 dollar ticket for Elton sells for 300+ on the secondary market for his “Farewell, Yellowbrick Road Tour.” It ain’t him.
Garth Brooks- Garth will enter a city and play 2 shows a day for 5 days straight…
aleshamom4 says
It really pains me to see so many Elton references, I have seen him 4 times, in different cities, and every one was sold out 💪🏻 He puts on a heck of a show.
Tiny Tears says
My first thought: Garth Brooks. A stadium-sized ego.
xphile101 says
I work in an arena. Elton John and Billy Joel legitimately sell out (for damn good reason) and do not have or need any opening acts. Timberlake still sells as well.
I’m going to go with a rapper here. Which one? Take your pick.
Mia444 says
Elton immediately came to mind, though his net worth is in excess of 500 M. Also, he often has no opener in his shows bc they are legendarily long (3+ hours). One more doubt: a lot of people already think he’s a colossal jerk, so this would have to be somebody thought well of, yes?
mysticd says
Been awhile since I guessed on here(need to more often, fun),but my guess is Ed Sheeran. He’s known for having sold out venues and has opening acts too.
JustMoo says
It’s not Billy Joel, he doesn’t use an opening act. Great show that he puts on
blablabla123 says
I’m guessing here, but could this be Drake? His net worth is 150 million according to Google, and there have been blinds about him before questioning his morals. Not sure about the clues but Asap Rocky has opened for him in the past..?
zappy2050 says
We are all over the map on this one.
At first I thought Elton John. His shows are sold out, but I actually believe that is genuine. He also sounds like a moody person – who does some good in life – but is temperamental.
I think I am going to go with Garth Brooks. I have always scratched my head at why his concerts are always “sold out.”
Whisper says
Elton John: Well over $100,000,000. Reputation as a diva.
But could be Hugh Jackman. He tours and Music Man might be a clue. Not as rich as Elton but I just checked and Hugh’s 2020 Net Worth is $150,000,000.
