He didn’t even win the election. HIllary won the popular vote. That’s the vote that counts.
Electoral College belongs to history and a country that no longer exists.

    The people voted for Hillary.

While he is a crass, bombastic windbag, I’m ready for him to drain the D.C. swamp and get things done for all Americans. He’s great with business/finance so I hope this will benefit our country. I do feel badly for the dems that lost as I’m sure they’re crying in their cornflakes today, but, it will all be okay. It might even be the best thing that could happen to America. Let’s give him a chance and see what he can do.

Its so strange that some think it is the end for us and others see a new beginning. How does that even happen? I am encouraged by what happened because I think it shows the true American spirit. This country started by kicking out the old government. DC has become too big for its breeches and needed a kick in its a r se. At least we didn’t have to go to war this time.

Im looking forward to Change not necessarily Trump. But I’m pissed that the rest of my state, CA, voted to give parole to “non-violent” offenders who may just happen to be child rapists and human traffickers. Can these idiots even be bothered to read the initiatives???

    • TeacherKat says

      November 9, 2016 at 7:42 pm

I really think people just go by what they see on tv. I was talking with people at work and they didn’t realize Measure M (in Los Angeles county) was an increase in sales tax. They just thought that traffic is bad and needs to change. They were mad when they realized it was a tax! I also heard people talking about how “it’s just a bond, it’s not a tax.” Um, you have to pay for the bonds eventually, often through tolls, fees or taxes!

  13. TeacherKat says

    November 9, 2016 at 12:23 pm

I was feeling fine until I saw the results of our states propositions. Ugh. In Ca, we drcided to raise our already high taxex and we have decided plastic bags are evil and need to be banned, but we also decided to give early parole to “non-violent” criminals. Funny, I don’t consider rape, arson, assault with a deadly weapon, taking a hostage, human trafficking or gang drive-bys to be non-violent. So sure, release these criminals early but goodness, we have to get rid of those evil bags…

    • Heathersmist says

      November 9, 2016 at 2:50 pm

Actually with you on the taxes and especially the parole measure. Really bad move.

    • Moonpie says

      November 9, 2016 at 3:05 pm

California sarcasm. Always voting democrat no matter what. It’s suicide with a dull spoon. The state needs to secede from the union. If Trump offered to lower taxes, Ca people would get angry with him or anyone that would benefit the state as such. It’s hopeless. Same for New York and Massachusetts.

    I feel great.

The stain of the Clintons is gone and we get a chance to continue what Reagan started years ago.

Also, we get a chance to renegotiate NAFTA and our other bad deals, like Iran.

All we have gotten is a chance to get some things done.

Everyone who exercised their right to vote should feel like a winner – I always feel empowered when I emerge from that voting booth. You are the biggest winner, Ace, because of the classy way you’ve steered BG’s tone during this really unpleasant election season. Congrats to you and to the 5 winners of the gift cards :>)

    • LooLoo says

      November 9, 2016 at 3:10 pm

I agree. Though I didn’t win. 🙁 But I liked the way the discussions were kept civil here and Ace kept it from getting crazy. Everyone has their own opinions, and everyone is entitled to them, even if they aren’t the same as yours. That’s what America is all about.

Thank you for the gift card Ace!!! Appreciate.

I’ve lived through a few presidential cycles. Some went my way some didn’t. The pendlum swings. To be honest I think the media was the real loser in all of this. The day of them TELLING us what to think because their talking heads are SMARTER is over! Revenge of the common person.

I didn’t vote for Trump or Hillary, but I am feeling strangely ok. Trump is a moderate Democrat basically, and he gets to work with a moderate Republican Senate and House. I think people need to take deep breaths and realize the end is not near.

I must say though that I want to let Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, Bryan Cranston, and all the other celebs that said they are mvoing if Trump wins that I am happy to help them pack. Except you Samuel L. Jackson. We all want you to stay.

Yeah reversing gay marriage and gay conversion shock therapy is so moderate republican. Give me a break. Celebs have the right to speak their minds, but you people want to run people out of the country who genuinely care about minorities

    • northofyou says

      November 13, 2016 at 9:33 pm

Ashkay, I’m with you. I didn’t vote for Hillary or Trump. I voted my conscience. But I believe Hillary was the less evil of two decidedly evil candidates, only because she would have protected the rights of gays, minorities, and women, even while she continued to sell out to Wall Street and the banks People who think Trump is honest astound me.

He’ll be an absent/bad manager and will let a CONSERVATIVE congress go wild. The last few session they tried passing various anti-abortion measures, above anything else, DOZENS of times. He’ll be ineffectual at best, destructive at worst from mismanagement.

    • woowoo says

      November 9, 2016 at 1:18 pm

The abortion issue has me more scared than anything. Did not Prohibition teach us anything? People didn’t stop drinking because it became illegal. Women will not stop having abortions if it becomes illegal. They will simply start dying more- which defeats the whole “all life is precious” thing.

So double-up on protection; get a hysterectomy/vasectomy. Or, how about this: abstain till you’re ready and just masturbate until then. Have some self-control.

    • Wannabe Sherlock says

      November 10, 2016 at 3:18 am

I don’t like his stance on abortion or the environment, but he is / was the lesser of 2 evils and , as Mae West said, ‘When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I haven’t tried before.’

However, Bryan needs to stay. The rest of them can leave asap.

Supporter of neither. Think we lost either way. Trump’s trial for Trump U in 19 days… I think you have to wait until Pres-elect has taken the oath before impeachment can begin.

Agreed. A lot of the things she is guilty of were swept under the rug.

On another note…I’m truly surprised by all of the hate on facebook from people claiming they voted for love. Had a friend calling people devils if they voted for trump, another saying if you voted for trump they don’t want to know you anymore, and another saying they felt sorry for you if you voted for trump and that you must be a bigot, racist, homophobe, etc. Lots of accusations and hate being thrown around.
