When Kathy Griffin got into a public controversy a couple of years ago over a photograph of her carrying the head of President Donald Trump, she had a very interesting series of reactions.

At first, she was defiant and thought her position was correct.

Then, when there was a backlash, she tried to play the victim and complained that she was receiving horrible threats from people on social media. She thought people would feel sorry for her.

Later on she apologized for the initial incident, but only because she was forced to.

We actually wrote about this in a previous blind item (see One Hour Of Laughter).

A few months later, the truth came out. Kathy Griffin admitted that her apology had not been real and admitted that she had only apologized to avoid being threatened and to avoid losing work.

This male actor seems to be following that same pattern.

He said a bunch of stupid and vile things… doubled down on his right to free speech…. and then apologized for the original incident while playing the victim.

He thought playing the victim once people started attacking him would  make people feel sorry for him.

Then why did he apologize? Was his apology real?

No, it wasn’t real! He actually is not sorry at all. He still believes what he said was true. He only apologized because he was losing work. His publicists and his agent made him do it to keep his job on [TV show].

So he continues to mask his true beliefs and feelings, but provided a fake apology to save himself. All while playing the victim.

    Nick Cannon on whatever show he hosts. It’s the way it always is. They’re not sorry for saying it, they’re only sorry for the consequences.

    I think he is permanently radioactive. Hopefully he has a good relationship with his kids. They might be his only friends someday.

    This has got to be the * Chrissy Teigan and all the vile pedophilic like comments on Twitter that she took down then said everyone was picking on her. She is one of the original mean girls/boys so coming from them it was rich.

    He should be fired! There have been several other people who have said far less and been fired(hello Roseann). I don’t feel like his apology is genuine. He is just trying to save his jobs. He even said he wouldn’t apologize because he didn’t say anything wrong. I say Bye, Bye Nick!!

    Optional: Always had weird vibes from him but thought he was innocuous. I don’t really care whether or not celebrities get fired. They’re where trash belongs. It’s viewers who need to get a clue.

    Nick Cannon with the Masked singer. I’m actually surprised going off of the network that produces it that anyone felt like he needed to apologize, Fox isn’t exactly known any longer for rejecting bigotry and hatefulness.

    He shouldn’t have said what he sad and it’s sadder still that he really believes what he said. I like him okay on the show, but I’m sure it would survive w/o him. However, I am so sick of the cancel culture crap. People are being punished for things they said or did years ago. How about everybody gets there jobs and lives back and Nick keeps his job too.

    Optional: What do I think of him? I know he is a racist and antisemitic person based on what he says and believes. What should happen? I’m super conflicted because I strongly disagree with cancel culture, however what he has said is WAY worse than what others are being fired/canceled over. So it seems unfair he is still employed when others were not afforded that same, especially if he truly believes what he is saying.

    I think his racist, anti-Semetic remarks are appalling. While I do not condone cancel culture, it has become a reality, so fair’s fair…he can’t be allowed to say those things and keep his jobs and contracts.

    After discovering who he really is, my opinion of him is quite low. Because of the inherent danger within his spiel, specifically toward Caucasians and Jewish people, he should *never* be in a position with a public platform again.

    Pretty obvious this is Nick Cannon. Clue was “mask” as in masked singer. I really liked him on AGT but less so in recent years. What should/will happen is anybody’s guess.

      And let’s not forget how horrible he was to Mariah in the divorce. He was willing to air all her dirty laundry to get a better deal in the divorce. Pretty despicable to do to someone you share kids with, but he is also a celebrity and should know better. She completely raised his profile, too. He gained a lot from being with her.

      And racist. He never apologized for those statements. If a white pardon said it they’d be run out of town. Roseanne was fired from all of her work.

      He is, and he did it before with his “white privilege” album and never apologized for that either. If I were Mariah, I’d be completely embarrassed to have ever been married to this jerk.
