She Has To Lie To Keep Her Job

[Blind Gossip] You see this woman on TV all the time. She comes across as professional, engaging, and passionate about her profession.

However, that demeanor is hiding how she really feels about her job.

She hates it. She is ready to call it quits and walk away. She said she cries almost every night because she feels like a complete phony at work and she can’t take it anymore.

Why does she feel like a phony?

She has to lie in order to keep her job. She disagrees with what she is reporting and she thinks the people around her and the guests are completely wrong, but if she expressed how she really felt, she would lose her big paycheck. So she just has to smile and play along like she is one of them.

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, our TV Woman is on a popular news network. She makes  over $1M per year.

What if she switched networks?

She doesn’t think the other side is any better. She says that there’s no objective middle ground anymore so there’s nowhere for her to go. That’s her dilemma.

    Either Poppy Harlow (CNN) or Shannon Bream (Fox). Neither are huge names at CNN or Fox so I could see that salary fitting them.

    I studied journalism in college. First rule I learned was to present a story without a personal bias. Please name for me one network or news source that is completely unbiased these days, and doesn’t tilt towards a certain angle. That’s right- you can’t, because they all lean one way or another.

    This is CNN, they tell people what to say. Nicole Wallace, perhaps? She worked for Geo W Bush.

    Rachel Maddow and Laura Ingraham seem too motivated & genuine, I doubt it’s them.

    And she’s right. FNC has some ridiculous talking heads but CNN and MSNBC aren’t any better. Nor are the Networks. It’s a mess we’re all paying for.

    I can see her frustration when expressing her views.
    She is the moderate voice of reason that show desperately needs.

    Advice is take a break from the show. It’s not worth it and the unhappiness will seep into your personal life.

    This could be anyone on any of the networks or cable channels. I cannot even watch the news anymore and I used to be a news hound. All of them have abdicated their journalistic responsibility to be impartial about their reporting.

    I find it hilarious some people still believe CNN is non-partisan. When you’re caught on camera saying you will do whatever it takes to get rid of Trump, you’ve lost journalistic integrity. You’re now a propaganda machine.

    And those who are harping about Fox being conservative, don’t worry. Rupert Murdoch’s son and daughter are hard core liberals and vowed to steer the ship away from conservative talking points (once Rupert is gone that is).

      Not a fan of CNN or FOX but I will say that when Tulsi Gabbard needed a place to discuss foreign policy and American expansive military involvement abroad she did not find a friendly spot on the so called liberal CNN; FOX was the one major news outlet that permitted her to speak openly about it.

    Anchor: I do not know.
    Advice: I do not know what to tell her except to say. I sympathize with her. I also 120% agree with her assessment of the news business. It does not even pretend to be impartial anymore. There are the channels for the Democrats and the channels for the Republicans. Then, there is News Max for the Populists. All of them pander to their bases. Even the local coverage is skewed but I still can watch some of the coverage before I flick off the television.

    That’s horseshoe theory. The far left is just as insane as the far right, meaning the opposite ends of the spectrum are really closer to each other than to the middle, so the spectrum of political belief is not a straight line, it’s more of a horseshoe shape. So I guess what I’m saying is…smart you! 🙂

    The blind seems like a Fox News person who wants to distance themselves from the network (not Laura Ingraham!). Fox paints all of the left as crazy, hence thinking there’s no middle…

    I don’t think there’s any way this is Rachel Maddow. I think it could be Andrea Mitchell, though. She works at MSNBC/NBC, as does Savannah Guthrie who the clue is about, she’s blond, she probably makes a large salary, and that photo looks like it could be a younger version of her.

    This can’t be Maddow. If you look at her interviews on other shows and in other media she absolutely believes what she reports. She’s done investigative work and broken stories. This has to be someone from Fox, but she is wrong if she believes there is not middle ground reporting. Of course there is! Lots of it!

      The Supreme Court just labeled her show an opinion/entertainment show – and people watching it should not expect it to be factual.

      Are you high? Maddow is generally wrong about everything. She is caught up in a fantasy land of cloak and dagger goings on 75% of the time. Usually the truth is pretty pedestrian. She needs to calm down and stop being in love with this heroic image of herself that she’s built up.

      I think it is someone on the View…someone who has conservative leanings – but cannot voice that less they get canceled or chewed up – and if it’s not The View…then someone from CNN – Definately not Madow…she believes everything she spews…

    I think Dana Perino on Fox News. She has journalistic and legit credentials; over time she seems to have veered from reporter to pundit and she’s on two shows. She never seems comfortable touting the GOP party lines.

    America seems to have totally lost the middle ground, so whoever she is I applaud her.

    I’d like it to be someone like Hoda… she’s seems accessible, relatable.

    Advice: If you are financially secure, be brave, speak your mind. Remember, there’s a whole sector of the American population who aren’t Left or Right, and they are desperate for their Middle Ground voices to be represented. They will applaud you.

      There once was something called FCC fair and balanced news doctrine cancelled during Reagan’s presidency. This cancellation is root of this evil. I wish it would be brought back, because we all everywhere start to have this problem. Everything that happens in the USA has an impact on the rest of the world, sooner or later.

      I think she makes too much money for it to be her. I’m going with same network, Nicole Wallace. She would make about $1M and has told some whoppers lately (children are dying in Florida from COVID! LOL, not since oh May….)

      no. She just signed a multi-year multi million $$ contract that will allow her to create her own production company under the NBC family. It also gives her more time off and she will be ending her nightly show next year sometime. She is the #1 most valuable news media person at NBC.

    Well, Ingraham doesn’t strike me as weepy, so it has to be Erin Burnett or Maddow.
    Maddow is reportedly looking to bolt MSNBC, but that’s probably just contract negotiation blather. She’s a liberal on a liberal network, so the item doesn’t seem to fit.
    Erin Burnett by elimination.

      I’m a liberal too & totally agree with her/whomever said this. I hate the way both extremes have agenda in delivering ‘news’ – all spin, talking heads vs information. The news has become a dog & pony show. No matter how liberal or conservative one is so MANY recognize this.

    Take a pay cut for a little while and work for YouTuber Tim Pool. He actually welcomes people from all political spectrums. She might actually be able to look at herself in the mirror again…

    Just read that CNN Newsroom co-anchor Poppy Harlow plans to take a leave of absence. She’s supposed to be going back to school to study law. Guess being part of the “Fake Media” was getting to her.

    oh cry me a river. If you want to be a real journalist and not partisan there is CNN and a host of non-partisan outlets. You might have to give up the big bucks. Life is full of choices for everyone.

    I don’t watch CNN or Fox so that’s my best guess. I honestly stopped watching Rachel Maddow years ago.
    She got to be too much.
    My advice would be to quit. She’s probably made enough money do a Pod Cast and be what is direly missing.
    Moderate voices of reason.
    Build it and they will come.

    Got to be a Fox News employee. I don’t know who, but other employees (ones who don’t work on camera) have said similar things in articles–that they stay only because the money is good.

    I’d like to think it’s one of the FOX News people, but they’re all so convincing at being fully in the tank for the R’s and the Kochs that I couldn’t begin to guess which one.

    My advice would be: jump ship, ASAP, to a real news network. They may not be an “objective middle ground,” but at least they’re doing journalism. You can’t change FOX News from the inside, it’s never going to give up being a propaganda machine, and the longer you stay there the less likely you’ll ever get…

    It could be any number of them, on either side of the political spectrum. The news has become so opinionated and polarizing these days that I refuse to watch. She has to weigh her financial security against her internal conflict. If things keep going as they are, I wouldn’t be able to hang in there very much longer.

    I think that if she hates that type of news, she should produce her own show on PBS or start a podcast.
