[Blind Gossip] Let’s go back to the early days of the popular sitcom Friends.

The cast members were paid wildly different salaries.

In fact, in the second season, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were being paid twice as much as the rest of their cast mates!

This caused friction among the six leads.

For season three, the actors all decided to band together and engage in collective bargaining. They negotiated identical pay packages, eventually reaching $1 million each per episode.

The next story is similar, but does not have as happy an ending.

This TV show host recently gave up her gig. There is actually a good reason that she is leaving.

No, she didn’t take another job.

No, she isn’t pregnant.

No, she didn’t have a fight with her sister cast members.

The reason she is leaving?

A jaw-dropping salary negotiation!

What happened?

She didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just that when she started the show, she was the most famous cast member and got the biggest salary. Over time, their fame evened out and there was a lot of grumbling from the other cast members about her making three or four times as much as everyone else. The producers couldn’t afford to bring everyone up to her level, so they told her she had to take a pay cut to stay. She said no.

How much of a pay cut?

A lot.

Over fifty percent.

And she would have to do exactly the same amount of work she is doing now.

Yikes! No wonder she refused.

She started out as a child actress and has learned to keep her composure after years in the business, so don’t expect our girl to go off on some sort of social media rant. She will be gracious and mature in her departure.

As for her cast mates?

They will all pretend that they are so sorry to see her go, but they are not. Her exit means more money for them.

    Tamara Mowry, or Tia. One of the Twins from Sister Sister who hosted The Real. No! She should have kept her job! In these times, 50% is better than no percent.

    The Mowry disyer. Cant remember which one. Tia? Tamara? Thats sad that she was asked to take such a huge drop in pay.

    Tmara Mowrey from The Real, or however you spell it.
    She should have taken the cut, 1/2 of a lot is better than nothing. Plenty of athletes take less so other’s can get paid too, makes for a stronger team, better morale, strong ratings, longevity, other opportunities. Understand that a big paycut is tough to swallow, but it’s tough to get a TV gig, who knows when another one comes along. She’s very likeable, hopefully not too long.

    its one of the mowery twins. i dont follow reality tv and only caught a blurp of her leaving a television program.

    Sara Gilbert? On whatever that show was, The Talk? I thought she was already gone, though.

    She’s always been my favourite. But the program has been on a downward spiral ever since Tamar left, even though she was a bit too much.
    I don’t blame her. She did the right thing by leaving.
    She knows her worth, she brought a lot of fanbase over to the show. Loni is intolerable, she thinks she’s the best, Adrienne is just pouting and doing duck face. The only one tolerable is Jeannie. When the show gets cancelled next year we’ll see.

    I saw that Tamara Mowbry is leaving the Real. Plus she started acting when she was younger. Could be her. I don’t watch the show. Maybe she can explore some new options.

    [Optional] Did she make the right decision? YES…I wouldn’t take that nonsense from anyone…50% salary cut. Those other chics needed better agents/lawyers to negotiate a better deal

    Optional: it’s messy, I’d blame the producers for agreeing such salary gaps between the hosts in the first place. She wasn’t at fault AT ALL, but having a pay check is better than none.

    Yes. She really doesn’t need them. She has a family, a more than successful business, winery, endorsements..you name it. Plus, the View–honestly–is outdated and out of touch.
