I Heard That

peoples choice awards logo[Blind Gossip] At the People’s Choice Awards last night, this funny actress managed to stay cool despite a nasty comment.

She was walking toward her seat when someone commented to a companion, “She looks great!” The other person shrugged and said, “She’s still fat.”

Our actress turned, simply looked directly at him and said, “I heard that.” The embarrassed commenter put his head down and looked away. Our classy actress simply put a smile on her face and kept walking.

    Love Melissa McCarthy even more now! I would have thrown a drink on them.

    She’s a class act and she always looks amazing, in my opinion.

    I would have preferred a more quick witted response like ” you can only dream of booty this good from your waify icy lovers—– if your straight that is ” and Melissa wouldn’t be lying because I bet she was one of Harvey’s favorite girls.

    Actress: Melissa McCarthy….and if I had to guess who the snarky one was, I’d say that Megan Trainor said she looked great, and Frankie Grande commented on her weight. Why is suddenly front row at every awards show? He’s a dancer and Big Brother vote-off.

    If that was me, I would have looked at the one who said I looked great and said, “Thanks! I’m surprised you can tell I had my hearing done.”

    She’s such a cutie. I think she looks great and I’m sure she is still working on it, but that’s Hollywood for you. Tough crowd. I’m guessing all her money helps her stay cool. It would be hard to bother me if I were rolling in it.

    Melissa McCarthy, and she DOES look great. She’s lost a lot of weight, but she was beautiful before she lost the weight. As long as she’s healthy and happy, that’s what counts. Some people are just superficial d*ckwads, and especially in Hollywood. They’re ALL superficial d*ckwads.

    Melissa McCarthy. And screw him! TBH, I was falling asleep by the time she came on and had my eyes closed. When I heard her talking, I opened them to see her dress (etc) and was stunned at how thin she was compared to what I’d been picturing to go along with her voice when my eyes were still closed. As Amy Schmer would say, she lost a Kendall! Good for her. This guys classless and mean; even if you think something like that, you don’t say it! I mean, cmon.

    I would probably mutter some comment quiet (but loud enough for them to hear of course) about them. i hope it’s not Melissa though, she seems to be working hard on the healthy dieting (unlike some celebs who take the easy way out: drugs, lipo, etc.)

    Amy Schumer. I’m a very confrontational and direct person, but I’m also very conscious of social situations and what’s “appropriate” or not; so I think how she responded was perfect. She embarrassed him, but kept it cool.

    Melissa McCarthy – she does look amazing, and so happy!!! And whomever is going to be that rude should have apologized on stage…with a shame sign around his neck. I would have probably walked away crying. It’s a brave thing to call someone out, but that’s what makes her amazing and what helped her survive in Hollywood. She’s not stupid, I’m sure she’s had worse told to her face in that deprived & starved world.

    Go girl! Losing weight is tough until you look like what people consider to be a “normal” weight – I know I’ve lost 70 pounds in the last year and it was a good 40 pounds in when people really started to notice I looked “different”.

    Good for her and the way she handled it. I would hope I would’ve done the same.

      So true. Several years ago, my brother (who I rarely see even when I visit hometown, for reasons that will soon be obvious) greeted me with a cheek kiss and this statement: “Wow. You got fat.”
      To which I replied: “Yeah, but I can lose weight. You’ll always be an ignorant ass.”
      Still proud of myself for that one.

      Lol and absolutely no one would blame you. 😉 I wasn’t a huge fan of hers before but I like the guts it took to respond and the classiness she maintained in her simple response.

      I gained 40lbs last year bc of a break up and an injury but determined to get it off. Keep up the good work! 🙂

      Thank you so much, Laboo! You can do it too! 🙂 Stress and injuries are so hard to deal with but I found working out consistently and eating better has done so much to help me in those areas (I had a soccer injury I recovered from last year.) I wish you the absolute best. 🙂
