    I have no idea who this is but I will answer the best screenplay one The best produced original screenplay where the screenwriter gets a huge amount of the credit for the movie’s success is Chinatown by Robert Town . However allegedly the best original screenplay of all time is an unproduced masterpiece by the late Walter Newman called Harrow Alley . It has impressed everybody who has read it & many efforts have been made to make it but it collapses .

    I have no idea who this is, but I wanted to comment to clarify that there’s very little creativity on the ghostwriter’s end. I’m a ghostwriter and we just write what we’re told to write. This is a LOT more common than people know.

      Whoever this is still comes up with the story, the characters, and most of the dialogue. Then he makes notes and requests edits for each draft until it’s up to his standards.

      Most of the stuff you read on the internet, in books, and half the stuff you see on TV has at the very least been polished up by a ghostwriter.

    Don’t know who the writer is but no respect.

    Best screenwriter of all time has to be Billy Wilder – drama, comedy – he could do it all, and his writing has a lot of heart. The movies made from his scripts are mostly very very good – and many are truly great.
