[Blind Gossip] This recently married celebrity is still having family problems!

She was very sincere about having her husband meet her father. However, she asked her father not to talk to the press and then warned him three more times not to talk to them, yet he persisted. She is done with him now. He will NEVER meet her husband. He cannot be trusted. She is working with her representatives to devise some standard evasive statements to make whenever someone enquires as to the current status of their relationship.

    Optional: Her father has sadly put her in a horrendous position and left her with no choice but to distance herself from him. How hard is it for him to keep quiet ? The staged photographs were bad enough but his interview on a live morning show in the UK was likely the final straw. How can she even phone him without worrying he will blab to the media what they discussed.

    IDK. I feel for the dad a bit. Yeah he blundered with the whole fake paparazzi thing then compounded it with talking about his phone call with Harry — but now he seems desperate. Imagine if all of a sudden you’ve lost your ability to be part of your child’s life. It would hurt a lot. If he’s being cut off someone needs to talk with him and let him know. Otherwise he seems like he knows there’s no other way to get her attention except through the media. It’s sad.

    I feel sorry for her. The whole thing is sad. He can’t be trusted though. He needed to set up boundaries with his other daughter and never speak about Megan to her, set up a boundary with the press and never speak about her to them. He did the opposite of that so I don’t blame her at all. Still, it’s sad.

    Has she actually talked to her dad? I thought dad hadn’t heard from her in a while. Seems I read that she only texted him when he had surgery. I personally think Meghan is all about Meghan. Her mom was absent much of her life and dad raised her, paid for private school and college education as well as her living expenses. She strikes me as one who uses people then discards them. I think dad just wants acknowledgement from Sparkles and needs guidance about the media.

    Meghan’s father was “fame adjacent” working in Hollywood for decades. Maybe he secretly wanted to be an actor himself, and that’s why he’s sacrificing his relationship with her for his 15 min of fame. That’s his choice – and i agree with hers.

The “working with representatives” nonsense is SOP when she is done using someone and wants them out of her life. She has done the same with other lifelong friends and relatives who are no longer useful to her ladder climbing. She is not letting anything come between Harry until a pregnancy is locked down.     I have watched and read it all caus i am a Suits fan, i think she is doing the right (but very hard) thing, she must be sad that her dad is not doing what is good for his kid, just like her other family..

    I think she has to choose for herself now caus they are NOT in her corner AT ALL!!

    No, not the right decision. He could be developing dementia. Fly him over to meet Harry. Do it in secret and have him driven to their home. He is her father, maybe not the greatest, but still the father. Even children who had ruinous fathers from alcohol, drugs, or terrible family dynamics still mourn the loss. I don’t know if I would trust a woman who has no empathy for an old, sick man who fathered her and once had a good relationship with her.

    Optional: that’s for her to decide. But it seemed like they bungled the whole thing up with her father from the beginning. Some more support from the beginning may have seen this play out differently. Yes, her mother was fine, but her father was already a bit of a recluse and seems not as well.

    Think of how this looks from the outside for one minute…none of your family attended your wedding except your mother so why continue the facade of having any sort of relationship with your father? Forget about the “evasive statements” and ignore the whole situation…trying to control the appearance of that relationship to try and put yourself in a favourable light is only going to bite you on your arse…

    No, I don’t think so. She should talk to her father but not tell him much of anything, let him do the talking. As for meeting Harry, yes, he should meet PH. Maybe seeing PH in person and talking to PH might give him more sense about not blabbing out their business. I do think the father will keep going and maybe tell somethings he definitely shouldn’t if MM and PH ignore him. Plus it’s her father, for Heaven’s sake; I think ignoring him is very poor form.

      Her stepsister sold her childhood photos and sold a book deal; another trashed her to her then-fiancee – then backtracked and begged for an invite to the wedding; and her father traded her for his own 15 min of fame. But yeah, SHE’S the sketchy one. She went to an excellent college, has volunteered w/charities for more than a decade, and was building a business. If I’d dated ‘quite a few’ fake-damaged guys, I’d be asking why I’m attracted to them vs. projecting their dysfunction on her!

      I think Sparkle has been running away from her past for a long time. She has always envisioned herself as a princess and has now made it a reality. The pesky peasant family doesn’t fit in.
      This is the perfect opportunity for her to cut all ties while looking like the victim. She is a master manipulator.
      I still don’t buy that Princess Diana would have been smitten with her. Something tells me that Diana would have been on to her.

    Terrible all round. If you look at the family relationships of any other normal person that marries a major royal, such as princess Mary of Denmark, they end up estranged from their family. I feel really sorry for them, this is the end of their having any relationship and I think the dad knows it and is struggling to accept that he’ll probably never have a relationship with Meaghan again. This is the price of choosing money and power and of course love in marrying into royalty.

      Even though Mary, Frederick and the kids come back to Australia every year or so in Summer for a holiday, that must be hard on her and her family. Also, I remember when she came back home once, she was interviewed by one of our TV journalists and she was actually struggling to speak English, that’s how immersed she’d become with her new life in Denmark!

      I don’t believe this is necessarily true. Duchess Catherine has a very good relationship with her family. The Middletons are hardly alienated. In fact they are usually included. I think it all depends on the person who marries in and how hard they. Wish to ensure they retain a relationship with their family. I don’t blame Meghan for distancing herself though, her fathers side of the family is horrible!

      Kate Middleton was a commoner and very much has a relationship with her family. Her parents play by the rules and stay away from the press. Samantha Markle has been running her mouth to the press for months and their father said he was upset that she wouldn’t stop talking to the press but yet turns around and does the same thing. The entire family is toxic and are trying to milk this while they can. Expect them to pop up again when she’s pregnant.

      I should clarify, I’m referring to relatives with ordinary or very low incomes – the Middleton’s aren’t ordinary, but extremely rich. And wealth has always been acceptable to blue bloods. But being low middle class or heaven forbid, poor, nope. The divide will get wider. If he was rich, they would have reached out to him, he’d be recreated as eccentric. Hideous time though for the poor girl who should just be on cloud 9 with Harry, not having all this.

      Not sure why Kate came into the convo, bc I thought everyone b4 was trying to say this happens especially when you leave your OWN (native) culture, & marry into royalty. Kate wasn’t part of a royal bloodline, but she was still from a posh, upper middle class ENGLISH family, & came in knowing (at least) the general royal protocol, the culture, etc. She also dated Wills for YEARS, being slowly immersed. It’s much harder when ur a foreigner & had a short courtship to boot, like Meghan.

      It’s sad but I’m surprised they didn’t fly him in for some etiquette training right from the start… who knows if it would have worked but maybe he would have more respect for the family than he apparently does for his daughter 🙁
