Celebrity Requests On Private Jets

The private jet booking app JetSmarter revealed to Travel + Leisure some of the most outrageous requests the company has received from celebrities.

1. One high-end couple took a flight without an actual destination. For six hours the pair flew around drinking expensive wine, getting spa treatments and enjoying manicures and pedicures — not to mention that they brought along a chef and an opera singer to provide food and entertainment — and then landed in the same place they took off.

2. Another traveler didn’t even get step foot on the plane, requesting a jet to have their cell phone brought from New York to Florida.

3. Finally, and perhaps the most outrageous, food tasters were brought on one flight to make sure the cuisine “fit the celeb’s taste palate.”

4. A plane stocked with Cool Ranch Doritos and Sparkling Ice Kiwi Strawberry

5. A flight that carried a celeb’s Birkin bags and clothes back to their hometown after a shopping spree

6. Complete darkness was a request from one celebrity. No natural light was allowed.

    I seem to recall reading a story a century or two ago about someone — I’m remembering Liz Taylor — having chili from Chasen’s flown in. I want to say it was while she was filming Cleopatra in Italy and her chili-co-consumer was Burton. “Living well is the best revenge …” (But if you’re going to lecture about the morality of climate change and global warming, then get your skanky Titanic *ss off the d*mned Lear jet, Leo.)

    I honestly have no problem with any of these. It’s their money, they can spend it how they want to. I see people who are a lot poorer spending money in stupid ways, and they can ill afford to. These people sound like they can afford to have fun on a jet if they choose to.

    The 1. Scenario is the craziest to me! Couldn’t they do all of these things on the ground? What’s the point of doing this in the air? I guess the answer to this this is they did it because they can afford it, but still whacky to me.

      I thought #6 was Mariah also. She asks for certain lighting in her rooms backstage. For example, in one instance she asked for candlelight only.

      There is no way that Seth Rogan has possibly earned enough money to afford a private plane. He might be able to afford a bus pass.

    I feel like 5 isn’t that unheard of. Fashion houses fly gowns out in private jets along with company representatives and seamstresses for events like the Oscars.

    They all sound like “new money” with the exception of #1 which makes me think Trump and Milania. I just threw up in my mouth. All of these people are ridiculous and utterly wasteful.

      I agree with #1- Oprah and Gayle were the first to come to mind, but the remainder were sufficiently vague that it was challenging to guess

    I don’t think these are that outrageous! I’m sure whomever left their phone in NYC… the expense to fly it via private plane was worth someone else getting their hands on it 🙂

      I agree with you. Next day air isn’t as good as same day when you need it ASAP. Also, complete darkness would be awesome! Sounds cozy. If I could, I would. Just sayin.
