Awkward Actress

April 18, 2017 Blind Gossip

[Blind Gossip] There is an awful lot of tension on the set of this remake of a classic movie!

The female star doesn’t seem to be doing anything specifically wrong or horrible… but, for some reason, the cast and crew can’t stand her!

She showed up the first day with gift baskets for everyone “important.” Some were gift baskets with cakes, other had cigars. We were laughing because we had just seen this same scene in that TV movie “Feud” and it was like she thought she was Joan Crawford in real life!

Another crew member had some insight as to how she interacts with the Director and the DP (Director of Photography):

The DP really seems to hate her. Every time she turns around he rolls his eyes, like “What an idiot!” He has no contact with her at all unless she is shooting a scene. He hangs out with [The Director]. They are best friends, and the two of them sit with each other but not with [The Actress] at lunch.

Another crew member characterized The Actress as “awkward”.

She is professional in that she shows up on time and has her lines memorized, but she seems to have trouble just having a normal conversation with real people. Just awkward and fake and weird. Most people are just steering clear of her.

This is Lady Gaga copping it from Matty Libatique on the set of ‘A Star is Born’. He is thick as thieves with Darren Aronofsky, so despite Bradley hiring Lady Gaga, he is more wanting to impress Matty and get in with Darren.

I think she has always been a bit shy and awkward when not in her persona. She is aware she is not revered as an actress despite the accolades so tries too hard. It is sucks because she is talented and will shine in this movie.

Probably just didn’t like her from the get-go. Some people you instantly like, some you don’t. Gaga strikes me as someone you just instantly dislike. I’m sure this is why she appears a bit off/strange — she wants you to think she’s that way by choice so she won’t feel as hurt if you reject her. Truth is, she’s just awkward and unlikable.

Why do you think she is having trouble connecting with people? She’s got too much try. She’s also has a reputation for being a diva. She’s trying to shake it off and reinvent herself.

I don’t think it’s Lady Gaga. Bradley Cooper is directing (as well as starring in) ASIB, and from what I’ve read they get along pretty well.

Lady Gaga ! This is incredibly unprofessional of this crew and it may come back to get them ! I have been in this world long enough to know that adversity is a given but you don’t go around courting it irrationally . It says in the item that the Celebrity is behaving very well and taking the job seriously . I hope that maybe they have to work with or rather it will be FOR that Diva from hell Ariana Grande !

Am I the only one that feels this woman is being treated badly? It sounds like a somewhat nasty and clique-ish sort of set. The crew’s, DP’s, and Director’s attitudes seem to be rather unprofessional. But then again, I am not there so I really should not judge.

Opt: Because she grew up as a child actress. It is hard enough for an adult dealing with star and pressure in the industry. It warps children, look at Mary Kate/Ashley, Amanda Bynes, Jodie Sweetin, Lee Thompson, Brad Renfro, Johnathan Brandis and the Coreys’ among countless others. Few kids are able to adjust or transition, I mean look at Miley/Selena/Demi/Joe/ Beiber also.

I’m not a Gaga fan but it sounds like the director & DP are being unfair to her. If they were women, we’d be calling them catty & they’d be catching more flak here. As the director, part of his job should be to help the star feel more comfortable & included, not snickering & gossiping behind her back. It’d be different if she wasn’t showing up on time ready to do her lines.

And now that I checked IMDB & found out Bradley Cooper is directing it all makes sense. He’s a bro-dude…

Sometimes, directors AND DPs are just as bad as the talent and can be so full of themselves too. I find that most times in production, true professionals get things done while non-professionals just complain all the time.

Sounds to me like they are describing either someone with Aspergers or a bunch of immature set staff. Really, what do they expect of someone. Be nice. Be professional and do your job. Does it really matter if you “get” someone or not? If he/she is trying with gifts, etc. give them the benefit of the doubt.

I know, this sounds like junior high. It’s just a mean way to treat a person, grow up people and be a professional. If this is A Star is Born, why would Brad Cooper hire Gaga if he doesn’t like her??
