    EEEEEEVERYBODY is picking on and naming Jared Kushner, but what about Joshua Kushner too? He went to Harvard too like his brother. Just because he is married to Karlie Kloss and not Ivanka Trump he seems to come off easy in the media, but he was fathered by the same man. what gives?

    Prosecute the parents.
    As for the kids,if they work hard let them stay.
    Everyone needs to calm down about other people’s spots being “taken”.
    The number of incoming freshmen is elastic.
    With off campus housing, dozens of majors,and NO classes ever being 100% full,so what?
    We aren’t talking 1000s of students,just a handful of kids each year.
    No one was paid money or took my exams for me, but calls were made and strings were pulled. #UndiagnosedDyslexia…

    I had to have a high SAT score and the stated application fee and the money to actually keep myself in school.
    I don’t think anything should be done to the students. They will either sink or swim on their own.
    If the Admissions Officer is open to bribery, word will get around quickly. This would not have happened if the universities did not have a procedure in place to pay to play. This has been going on for CENTURIES. Not that it’s right mind you, just that it…

    I went to Catholic school but turned into a bad boy and was kicked out. I got my act together, scored a very high score on my GED test and received a scholarship to community college and got my R.N. degree. I didn’t rely on daddy warbucks.

    Optional: I had to sit an entrance exam, an interview and submit a portfolio.
    It’s too late to give the people who would’ve gotten in a placement and if they genuinely achieved the degree I don’t think it should be taken off them but there needs to be a deterrent so other parents won’t do this in the future.

    I applied & got in on my own. I think the children who got accepted thanks to their parents’ criminal efforts should be expelled.

    In Australia, you get a final score the from your final year studies of high school up to 99.95. With whatever score you get, you see what courses you can apply to. Here medicine generally requires 99.

    I think all the kids lose their places any any qualifications. Fruit from the poisonous tree. They can always go back and study independently. Any other options makes a mockery of the hard work needed to get into University.

    They should be stripped of any degrees they got by fraud, and removed from any job they got from the said degree.

    Had to get a scholarship for tuition over what state schools needed. Got full tuition at a private school, then transferred to an out of state public univ that was cheaper than my instate tuition.

    They should lose their degrees if the completed college and kicked out of they are still in school.

    I studied and went through a lot of bookstore SAT guides. I did fairly well for myself without money for SAT prep classes or family connections. I was a good kid who worked every summer and after school and I did my best with what I had and still resentful brats told me to my face that I only got into certain schools because I was black.

    Not jail: take the parent’s total investment in their own child’s tuition + the bribery money, then increase that amount by a reasonable investment return over the years since that money has been spent. Use the total amount to fund deserving, lower income students (strangers) through their education. Honestly, the kids themselves should also pay a portion of their post-grad income (using stats to determine the post grad income value of their prestigious degrees).

    Anne is talking about Jared Kushner. Difference is, his family did what has always been done by the wealthy, make a big donation to the college or build them a new building. The people indicted didn’t do either of those. Felicity bought her daughter special treatment during her SAT. She got 2 days to complete the timed test and someone to help correct her answers. Lori made a contribution to a ‘charity’ to get the rowing team to recruit her daughters…who didn’t row.

    I had to get good grades in high school. Take the SAT myself to get the desired score. Apply to the colleges of my choice and pray that was enough for me to get accepted.

    Op- had to be in top half of class; no act/sat scores necessary. This for a Big Ten school- a lot has changed in 40 years!

    I am torn as some students may have been totally in the dark about this and are actually doing the required work, however if the evidence shows the kids were in on the scam or just there to party they should be given the boot!

    I went to a small affordable school in OR. So pretty standard – application essay and ACT scores.

    Prosecuted just like anyone else bribing. Equal justice richies.

    If the kids knew, they should be kicked out. If they didn’t, see how they’re performing and let them stay at full tuition, paid in cash.

    I took the SATs, joined extracurricular clubs, etc… I earned my admission.
    They should be expelled unless they could have gotten in without the help. EXCEPT, if they are doing well in college, let them stay. Sometimes I think colleges need to look outside of test scores, some people just aren’t good at standardized tests. In my career, I am more impressed with achievement and ability than what school someone went to.

    Jared Kushner – There was a great write up about this a couple of years ago and now it’s resurfaced because of this college-fraud story that’s come out.

    Optional: My mom agreed to pay for my first couple of years but I failed out (I was too young and immature). In my 30’s I decided to go back but I had to take out student loans which I will be paying back my entire life. At least I got my degree though. Not sure if it will prove to be useful.

    I didn’t go to college my grades sucked and only got a total of $1000 in small scholarships that I couldn’t use towards one college. The students should be held accountable to an extent. Get kicked out of their college, pay a fine, and have this on their record for any college admissions and in case they want to apply for any financial aid.

    I had to take the SAT’s and pay the admission fee. Then I prayed, but as I was a good student (and honest, may I add), I got into the school of my choice. No one I knew would ever have bribed or bullied their way into college. But, this was the early seventies and we were poor, moral people like most everyone we knew.

    Ahhhhh it seems like a lot of the parents went out of their way to make sure the kids didn’t know. I’m pretty sure the public humiliation/shame would be horrible for them as it is.

    My parents couldn’t afford a top university, although my grades were excellent. I went to community college and then state university. Makes me mad that there are so many wealthy nitwits at top tier schools that bought their way in. Anyway, those caught in this scandal should be kicked out of school.

    Jared Kushner’s dad donated over 2 million bucks to Harvard.

    When I went to college, it was because of decent grades, and that, at the time, they were accepting anyone who could sit up and eat solid food. It’s more difficult (and expensive) to get in now.

    Those kids should get expelled.

    I think the kids should be kicked out bc they didn’t earn their acceptance to be there. And any have graduated, strip them of their degrees. They didn’t earn them the right way, and there are kids who’ve done the work to earn an acceptance from these schools. I don’t care if they didn’t know what their parents were doing…no excuses.

    I went to college by paying for it myself till upper division when I got student loans. I think the parents should be prosecuted for the crimes they committed, and if the students are just there to be seen, to be removed.

    To get in I filled out applications, sent in the fees, and for one school I auditionned.

    Parents and students who do shady things to get in school should be required to pay full price plus create a scholarship for every year the student attended to cover full room and board of a student with financial need. The transcripts of the student should be gone over to ensure that only their admittance was shady and that they aren’t getting a free pass in class.

    Kushner’s father making that massive donation to Harvard is not actually illegal. Neither is Harvard admitting Jared (and Josh) on the basis of that donation. It sucks.

      Idk why people are acting like this SHOULD be illegal, tbh. At least parents who “donate a wing” are helping other students and society as a whole (potentially). It doesn’t make their kids very likable, and you can say you’re more deserving of being there till you’re blue in the face, but, imo, it’s a valid trade. The same can’t be said for the Aunt Beckies, who I don’t believe donated to the school but right into the pocket of a scammer.

    The students should be expelled and also criminally charged. Not one of them didn’t know what was going on, in particular those who were presented as athletes or had someone else take their SATs.
