The Clash

[Blind Gossip] This blind item is about two actors. We’ll call them Small and Medium based on the size of their careers.

Neither Small nor Medium are particularly nice people. However, they are both movie stars, so that makes this story interesting, even if it is hard to defend either one.

Small started out strong in his career. He was still a teen when he landed his first lead role, and was predicted to have a long career as a leading man. He was young, handsome and headstrong.

Most young actors just do what they’re told, but he wasn’t afraid to challenge a director if he felt that something wasn’t right for his character.

After Small’s breakout role, he was cast in a movie with Medium.

Unfortunately, the two didn’t get along on set.

[Medium] and the rest of the cast were partiers. It was like a fraternity. [Small] just wanted to do the work. [Medium] didn’t like that and started harassing him for being unsociable. “You think you’re too good for us?”

It got worse after the cameras stopped rolling.

While it is widely believed that the two actors clashed over manly egos, there was actually a lesser-known (and more petty) reason for the dispute.

[Small] owed one of [Medium’s] friends some money. Not a huge amount. It was about two thousand dollars.

Not satisfied with having harassed Small while on set, Medium felt compelled to continue to go after him off set.

Medium got in the middle of the financial dispute and started to pressure Small to pay back the money to Medium’s friend.

[Small] told [Medium] to stay out of his business. [Medium] wouldn’t back off and kept harassing him.

The movie did very well at the box office and solidified Medium as a star.

Small, on the other hand, found it much harder to get work after that.

Medium even went on to make a sequel of the movie… and purposefully left Small out.

While it might be an exaggeration to say that Medium tanked Small’s career, there was definitely a reluctance in the industry to hire Small that persists today.

    It makes me think of Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer of Magic Mike, but I heard Pettyfer is all-around difficult to work with.

    Channing Tatum is Medium. Alex Pettyfer is Small. Both were in “Magic Mike” and Pettyfer was left out of the sequel.

    This was hard at first, until I looked at the related blind (should always do that first!)

    Since the related is probably about Joe Mangianello (From Magic Mike), I’m guessing small is Alex Pettyfer (petty is also a clue), and Channing Tatum is medium.

    This might change if I can figure out who these people are, but Small doesn’t sound all that sympathetic here. Medium was wrong to bully him for not partying, but $2000 is a lot of money to owe someone.

    Between the mystery debt (drugs?) and the challenging directors business, it kind of sounds like Small’s career problems were of his own making.

    Magic Mike. Alexander Pettyfer was a hot jerk always if I remember correctly. Reminds me of a young Ryan Phillipe, he should’ve played the game better. Even if we now all get what a cheating liar Channing Tatum is, being in good with him would’ve still helped solidify his career.
    My “retired” 31 year at the time stripper ex and I met right when the first movie had came out. He was a housecall dancer, and his stories were pretty in line with the movie. He’s the worst person I’ve ever known.

    $2000 is $2000. You should pay what you owe. I wouldn’t have harassed him, but Channing was sticking up for his friend.

    This is supposedly something like what happened between Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, but I don’t think they’re the two actors of this blind. Medium sounds like an absolute loser.

    I think Channing was a little out of line. Some people just aren’t partyers so harassing someone because they won’t go out and party all the time is a pretty crappy thing to do. About the whole money thing, unless his friend asked him to intervene he should have stayed out of it.

    [Optional] Do you think that Medium behaved appropriately? No, but as the Blind says, it’s hard to defend either one. By all accounts, Alex was a complete and utter * on the Magic Mike set, but Channing has proven himself to be equally an * in other ways.

    That said? They’re both so damn gorgeous, I just close my eyes and think of England…
