My Dad Hates Me

[Blind Gossip] This man is a huge movie star. Although he is over 50 now, he is still one of the biggest names in Hollywood.

He is all about success in life.

One thing that isn’t so successful?

One of his kids.

Dad is successful and a hard worker and into being healthy and [The Child] isn’t any of those things, so they don’t really have anything in common and they don’t spend time together. It’s depressing. I’ve heard, “My Dad hates me,” more than once.

So, what does The Child do to cope?

Drink!

Yes, it’s a big problem.

[At a recent happy event for their family], the talk was all about how to get [The Child] to go to rehab this summer.

The Child is an adult, so the parents can only convince, not force.

    Arnold and his son Chris. Chris is medicating the pain of knowing that Arnold prefers the maid’s son to him-they were born days apart, I think. Yet, Chris has to be responsible. He is everything his father isn’t-overweight, not athletic or into fitness. He REALLY doesn’t want to follow in Dad’s footsteps!Get him into rehab and find a good shrink to help him process his pain.

    There was a blind before about parents trying to get an adult child in rehab and i believe that was Bruce Willis and Demi Moores daughter but I cant remember which one

    I’m thinking it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger’s fat son.

    He doesn’t strike me as someone who’d be accepting of what he would see as a lack of self control in light of his body building background.

    I hope I’m wrong because thinking that your dad hates you must be the worst feeling in the world.

    [Optional] Is this Dad’s fault? YUP. He’s lavishing a lot of love and attention on that kid he had with the housekeeper. Its such a betrayal..especially as they grew up thinking he was their friend, not a half sibling. Now they’re adults, Arnie is just blowing it with his ‘real’ kids. That other one is just as attention seeking as his mother. What a mess!

    Might be wrong, but I think this is about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Christopher- even though Arnold is an actor well over (in fact, he’s over 70.)

    The clues that make me think that is “At a recent happy event for their family”- meaning his daughter’s recent wedding.

    This has to be the not often seen son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Christopher. The event was his sister’s wedding a few weeks ago. I think the last time I saw him in a pap shot was a few years ago when Patrick was beginning to be on movies and such, and the three of them were out riding bikes.

    If this is true, sad times for him.

    You can’t really blame the parents 100% but I’m sure having a very thin mom and a bodybuilder dad, plus a surprise brother who shows up and looks and acts just like your dad…it must hurt the poor kid.

    Although I think Denzel would be terrifying as a disappointed dad, I’m going with Arnold Schwarzenegger on this one.
    I seem to recall one of his kids had weight issues.

    Is it dad’s fault? Hmmmm. He’s not forcing his child to be unhealthy but splitting up the family over a romp with the maid probably didn’t help!

      It’s his son Christopher and the event was his sister Katherine’s wedding to Chris Pratt.

      I was going to say Nicholas Cage and son, but then I read the fitness and family gathering clues. So I guess I’ll change my mind and say Arnie and Chris.

    So many options (sadly)…I’m going to guess Jackie Chan and son Jaycee Chan. Jackie Chan has been pretty clear about how he feels about his son’s behaviour.

    At first I thought atom Cruise. But I think this might be Arnold Schwarzenegger and his son Christopher. He is more overweight, than Patrick or Joseph. Joseph is very into fitness, and he seems to see his father more. I have hardly ever seen pictures of Arnold with his son Christopher. Also, the wedding would have been the recent family event.

    Chris Schwarzenegger n Arnold. Pressure may have come from his dad. I remember an interview where he bragged about helping a woman do exercises for her bottom and said something vulgar about it.

    I think he’s had struggles for years; can’t figure out where he fits in in the family. His future happiness is worrisome.

    I’m going to say the youngest kid that Arnie and Maria had. He doesn’t look happy ever and I’m sure it’s difficult for him to see daddy bond so closely with his other son the same age- the one who looks exactly like him face and body. I’m sure some trauma came out of the whole separation and revelation but at some point you have to pull up your pants and deal with things. It’s obvs difficult for people to do. Hope him the best

    Tom Hanks and son.

    I had a horrible mother and I drank to cope with it. I finally realized drinking wasn’t helping. It took a lot of years to get my head straight.

    At some point, hopefully this kid will realize he doesn’t have to drink to cope. You can only blame others so long until you own it yourself.

    If he doesn’t take the offer for help, it’s on him. No more blame game

    Yes and no: dad caused family stress but Christopher possibly chose his version of stress relief. Should be in family counseling

    Christopher Schwarzenegger? If so, that is heartbreaking. I don’t know how old he was when his parents divorced and all the baggage of a half sibling came along.

    I hope he gets the help that he needs and the happiness and peace of mind he deserves.

    No kid, even if they are no longer a kid, should be held hostage to that ish.

      They aren’t divorced. The half sibling holds no blame. He didn’t ask to be born but he’s here. Not sure if they expected him to continue to ignore him but perhaps if they all got counseling they could make peace with it. The sibling isn’t going anywhere. If anyone should have issues it should be him. He was pretty much ignored his entire life. It’s sad.

      A half sibling is not baggage, none of the Schwarzenegger children are mature enough to realize he is blameless for anything other than existing.

      So, are you saying, No way this is not his dad’s fault, or No way, this is not his dad’s fault.
      Respectfully disagree that it’s Arnold’s fault. Christopher made a decision to drink, more than likely to either exert control over something in his life, to rebel against his situation, or to punish his family. Maybe all. Addictions are never a good idea, because sometimes you don’t live to regret your actions. I wish him well and hope he finds peace, happiness and healing from within…

      I for one would not have done well in that family. I am sure being in the spotlight comes with its own pressures, and also the Kennedy clan is known for being competitive between its family members. Maybe he s just an ordinary kid with ordinary abilities who is expected to do great things, but is not cut out to do that. Just maybe he kept trying and trying but could never quite measure up……
      hence, the drinking. Im willing to bet that Arnold put quite a bit of pressure on him.
