Call Ben Affleck

[Blind Gossip] This actor was nominated for a SAG Award, either as an individual or as part of a group.

For some reason, his significant other was not there by his side.

He seemed very tense. He was chatting with everyone at the table during dinner and would smile for photos, but he was getting on his phone a lot during commercial breaks. The woman next to him asked, “Are you calling [Significant Other]?” He got irritated. “Um, NO, why would I do that?” Just really snotty. The woman just shrugged her shoulders and said, “Forget I asked.”

Remember a few years back when Ben Affleck put on that happy family act because he really, really wanted to win for Argo? It was the right strategic move on his part. It worked, too. Affleck may not have won Best Director, but Argo did win Best Picture!

To win an Oscar, you need to campaign. Our actor needs to step up his game. He needs to play the wonderful guy who loves his family in order to ingratiate himself with Oscar voters.

We’re not saying that our actor has to do trips to the farmer’s market and holding hands and smiling and Color Me Mine and ice cream cones and amusement parks and shoulder rides… but it sure wouldn’t hurt!

Argo the heck out of your campaign!

    Well said! But he’s been thirsty for WAY longer than that & has been at the PR game for a VERY long time. It’s a shame that I can’t watch A Star Is Born despite hearing how good it was because I hate B. Cooper & Lady Caca SO MUCH. I’M SO SICK OF BRADLEY COOPER & he’s the most obvious closet case in Hollywood!

    Bradley Cooper and/or Adam Driver.

    Both are actors nominated, both have hella sketchy relationships.
    I’m leaning towards Driver; the blind says he doesn’t need to go full Affleck with shoulder rides, but Cooper has already done that multiple times with his daughter and he’s been actively pushing the happy family angle with the press. Whereas Driver is the opposite.

    I don’t think he’s as desperate as Affleck always was, and I don’t think he is as calculating and manipulative as Affleck. Affkeck sold his parents down the river to get sympathy.

    (Usually the other award show results – especially the SAGs – are a good predictor for the Oscars… so no, at least for Best Director.)

    [Optional] Will he win an Academy Award? Nope. The race is between Malek and Bale now. And since he didnt get nominated for Director then I guess that is also out of the picture.

    [Optional] Will he win an Academy Award? Hard to say, but I don’t think so. For some reason, I think he’s pissed off someone powerful and that’s why he’s not winning anything now

    He won’t win. Although, I would love for him to win. His effort, looks, and natural acting ability should speak for itself but alas this is Hollywood we’re discussing.

    One clue is the director/best picture (Cooper was not nominated for director but asib was nominated for best picture)

    Could go either way. ASIB was snubbed at the Golden Globes, at the SAG Awards. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was snubbed at the Oscars as well. In recent years though they seem to be going with more underdog movies to win best picture, with Spotlight, Moonlight, AND The Shape of Water beating out the most likely to win of their years.

    I think it is gross when actors use their kids to make themselves look better. There are some actors who actually don’t do that. Christian Bale comes to mind. Was Daniel Day Lewis ever an aggressive campaigner?

    My guess is Bradley Cooper, and putting on the happy family act should definitely earn him an Oscar considering he and Iryna have zero interest in each other.

    Bradley Cooper was not with his “girlfriend” at the awards. He’s always struck me as fake AF. He seems like the guy who’s friendly in public but a total tool behind closed doors. Only movie I can stand him in is Guardians of the Galaxy because I get to look at a raccoon and not his arrogant face. I wouldn’t vote for him. I don’t think he’ll win an Oscar. He’s not trying AT ALL, just complaining when he doesn’t win.

    Bradley Cooper. His mom was with him but Irina was not. I really liked his performance but I don’t see him winning the Best Actor Oscar.

    I don’t know who this is, but this story is exactly why I quit watching awards shows years ago. Winning an Oscar should be based on on the actors’ performance, period. When I found out actors, directors, and producers campaign and kiss the the academy members’ * it left me totally disillusioned and disgusted. These awards are meaningless monuments to Hollywood politics

    No, he won’t win

    Christian Bale deserves to win but Rami ‘The Liar’ Malek will probably win. He’s willing to do anything for the oscar, including faking a relationship and lying about Bryan Singer. It’ll come back to haunt him….

    He needs to get to work stat. Be seen at playground with the kid, delivering toys to pediatric ward, heck, a photo op with the Pope does wonders… ask Leo D.

    Might be too late to do the “happy family”act for this year’s Oscar. I doubt he will win but good luck.

    He might win, but only because awards are erratic. I think there are better directors in his category, but I won’t deny that he did a good job in ASIB.

      He’ll be pushing for Best Actor (too little, too late) because he wasn’t nominated for directing.
