Henri Levy is currently in the middle of three lawsuits accusing him of fraud and embezzlement and stealing money from family, friends, and coworkers.

Tack on his homophobic and xenophobic comments and his perpetual drug addiction, and you’ve got the perfect boyfriend for a girl with perpetually bad judgement.

Four months after first being spotted together, Demi Lovato and designer Henry Levy have called it quits.

A source close to Lovato, 26, confirms exclusively to PEOPLE the couple are no longer dating. And despite reports, Levy was never the singer’s sober companion, adds the source.

The exes were first linked in November after they were photographed together on a sushi dinner date in Los Angeles shortly after the “Confident” singer left a treatment facility following an overdose.

Then in December, Lovato and Levy showed off some PDA at Nobu in Malibu before driving off in the same car together. They also rang in the new year together with a trip to Aspen.

There was also a report after the breakup that the split was orchestrated by Demi Lovato’s mother. From Radar Online:

Demi Lovato‘s loved ones, including her mother, Dianna Hart, purposely cut shady boyfriend Henri Levy out of the singer’s life to save her from going down a dark road again.

“Demi’s mother and family were absolutely 100% responsible for getting him out of the picture,” a source revealed to RadarOnline.com.

And it seems 26-year-old Lovato, who in November completed a stint in rehab after she nearly died from an overdose last summer, is finally open to listening to the advice when it comes to how her love life may affect her sobriety.

“No one knows what is up with Henri, but her friends were told by Demi’s mom to keep him away from her at all costs,” said the source.

We don’t know what Henri’s end game was, but with his own addiction problems, his history of financial scams, and his glomming on to Demi right after her heroin overdose, he was just really bad news. Her mom did the right thing to intervene.

    This is obviously about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn. However, this is very surprising? She’s so smart! None of her friends or family spoke to her about their thoughts? That is doubly surprising.

    I wonder if they’re just a quiet, home body type couple –that they’re great alone. He might not necessarily click w her friends or family, but as long as they’re happy and he isn’t shady, letter be. I’m hoping that’s the case and that she keeps her endgame. 🙁

    Dang it Demi, you need to dump everyone and have an “all about me” year to discover your passions and desires in life. Challenge yourself to be single for a year, go to a good rehab, get a new therapist. It makes me so sad to see her this way.

    Taylor Swift (clues “trouble” and “end game”, one a great song of hers, the other a deserved flop) and “boyfriend” Joe Alwyn.

    Since the “romance” was as fake as all her “boyfriends” are, it makes sense for him to try and attach himself to her financially. She’s switching labels soon, so there’s an opportunity. And, for all we know, he may have a shot at dating her brother, behind the scenes. (If he isn’t already.)

    The trouble reference seems to indicate Taylor Swift, but she always seemed pretty smart to me, and I doubt that Joe Alwyn (an actor) would be seen so business-savvy by a celebrity 100x more famous than he is.

    I’d like to think he is sober and hopes to help her live a sober lif while acting as her Manager/Advisor. But I’m afraid he will take advantage of and maybe even enable her. Hope her family is keeping her close!

    He’s a gold digger looking to make his pockets bigger. He’s basically a nobody and trying to sink his greedy claws into her sizable bank account. Papa Spears has seen sleazeoids like him before and will have none of it. Oops she did it again, he’s toxic 😜

    Has to be Taylor Swift with “Trouble” and “End Game” in the blind…

    And yeah this doesn’t sound good for her at all. If he supposedly knows everything about business and could provide help in that regard, why is he telling her that she’s smart enough to handle it herself? He obviously wants her to get rid of her current business manager for nefarious reasons.

    Demi and her boyfriend Henry (or however it’s spelled). He may be a kid who just made bad choices but cares about Demi and wants to help her. He may also have intentions of conning her out of her money too. Time will tell. Either way, she’s going to have to make her own choices and learn her own lessons from them. Part of being an adult.

      But her father has managed her money and basically her career for years. He’s a broker at Merrill Lynch and runs her fortune out of the Swift Group. They have gotten flack for being difficult and overprotective with her and her money. Not sure he would let Joe Alwyn charm her away from control over her fortune.
