[Blind Gossip] Many years ago, Older thought she was destined to win the Oscar for Best Lead Actress. She had poured her heart into the role, which required both acting and singing. She thought she was great and that she would be rewarded with an Academy Award.

It turns out that she did not even get nominated for the role. She got snubbed. She took that personally.

Older was recently asked by someone whether or not she was going to see the new movie in which Younger acts and sings.

[Older] just laughed and referred to [Younger] as “CC” so I doubt she’s going to see it.

What does CC stand for?

Copycat.

    If it’s Madge and Gaga, well I think overall Madge is just amazing. It’s hard to conceive of now, but she really blazed her way through everything. There is no Gaga without her.
    As for acting… I respect that she tries but Madge doesn’t seem capable of true vulnerability. It’s impossible to be a great actor with that limitation. Evita was just not meaty enough or compelling. She wasn’t horrible in it like in other films. She did a competent job. That’s an improvement, but not Oscar-worthy.

    Both have way too big of egos to ever be great actresses!
    M has reinvented her style/sound successfully countless times while still remaining physically recognizable & an international trendsetter. She’s THE originator of uninhibited female performances.
    G on the other hand has NOT been so successful in the “reinvention” category- sound nor “style”- and now resembles Mrs Potato Head or Play-doh.

    Yes, def Madonna. No Oscar for her Evita- tho she won a Globe for it. In one of M’s songs the lyrics read: “You’re a copycat, Where is my royalty?…” Which sounds like she’s referring to Gaga’s “Born This Way” sounding like her “Express Yourself”. Which it does…

    Pretty sure “Older” is Madonna and “Younger” is Lady Gaga. It’s sad that Madonna can’t just give credit where credit is due.

    I thought Streisand but was surprised if she’d commented like that. She seems too gracious. However I’m now sure it’s Madonna who expected to win an Oscar and didn’t get it. She’s definitely far more likely to make that catty statement.

    Older is Madonna (Evita), CC is Lady Gaga. Streisand already has an Oscar. There is no doubting LG’s talent and ability imo. Madonna cannot act for toffee.

    Barbra Streisand already has a best actress oscar for her performance in a movie musical (Funny Girl), so it doesn’t make sense that it’s her.

    Can’t be Barbara Streisand as she received a songwriting Oscar for A Star is Born… Although the size of her ego, which reportedly made filming of that movie well-nigh unbearable, would give a veneer of truth to the claim. I fear “CC”, de-acronymised, is unprintable…

    Both very talented but Striesand has been brilliant in many roles. Gaga hasn’t proven herself, yet.

    Tricky one. I used to love Queen Bey but not so much anymore. Gaga is growing on me. I seem to remember that Bey wasn’t happy when Jennifer Hudson got the Oscar which she assumed she would get.

    Streisand and Gaga in their respective gigs in remaking the original A Star is Born . I’d say Streisand has more talent – like her or not she’s legend status

    This is Madonna and Lady Gaga.
    I love Madonna (even she is becoming a grumpy old woman) but there’s a big difference between her and Gaga, Gaga can sing and act.

    By the way i find funny that after all those rumours about how disaster was A star was born it turned to be a good movie with great performances

    Both talented, but Barbra Streisand didn’t need all the theatrics. Lady Gaga’s theatrics are a sign of insecurity. The meat dress, etc.

    Not sure about older, but younger could be Lady Gaga. I think Lady Gaga is very talented, and furthermore I have read from numerous people that she is a very genuine, kind person.

    I think Christina is the better singer and overall performer but Lady Gaga has found her true talent in acting. They just have different strengths.

    Older is Madonna and younger is Lady Gaga in A Star is Born. Madonna was amazing in Evita in 1996 and robbed of any Oscar recognition. I have watched that film many times and Madonna’s performance was near perfect IMO. Madonna is the greater artist, but Lady Gaga is amazing too. All art borrows from things that have been done in the past. Lady Gaga probably was influenced by Madonna, and Madonna should be cool about it. Women Need to Support Women.

    Barbara is jelly of lady gaga. They are both incredibly talented but i gotta go team gaga! I’m a huge fan of her music and acting and can’t wait to see ASIB!

    [Optional] Who do you think is more talented, Older or Younger? I honestly think Lady Gaga is more talented – I just wish she would stop being the person she thinks everyone wants her to be, and show her true self. She is an amazing singer.

    I did however play Madonna’s Evita soundtrack constantly on my Discman when the movie came out. I loved that soundtrack 🙂

    Madonna & Lady Gaga. Gaga definitely has a better voice, but Madonna has been around since ancient times. Whether or not that means she’s got talent is up for debate.

    Older is Beyonce, who’s still salty over not getting an Oscar for Dreamgirls.
    Younger is Lady Gaga who is earning raves for A Star is Born, which Beyonce had been attached to for many years. I would find it quite amusing if Lady Gaga won an Oscar for a role Beyonce passed on.
    Beyonce is talented, but I have always found her to be a bit overrated and she does not seem to have much of a personality. Lady Gaga is a true musician and she is willing to take artistic chances, I respect that…

    this *must* be barbra and gaga, for “a star is born”!

    they’re both incredibly talented, with wonderful voices, but i’ve gotta say i still can’t listen to “born this way”. even though i love the message of the song, all i can hear is madonna’s “express yourself” – it’s really quite blatant, whether it was intentional or not. :/

    Eh they can both sing, dance and act, but Gaga is the better singer and slightly better actress.

    This obviously Barbra Streisand. She won a Golden Globe for acting in the 70s version of A Star is Born, but was not nominated for Best Actress. Of course the younger one is Lady Gaga.

    [Optional] I think overall they’re about equally talented. I do think younger is a more natural musician where older is more business savvy with regard to obtaining success in the music industry. They’re both very creative in their own ways, but I can see how younger could have been inspired by older.

    Barbra is the more talented of the two. A dear friend gave her several of her earliest breaks, promoting and featuring her whenever he could. People took note at first because he was a huge star, and then her voice blew them away. It’s hard to achieve her level of success only to watch the move on with time.

    The movie MUST BE Mamma mia. First came out in 2008, with a sequel out earlier this year. It’s the only “playing and singing” movie with a sequel who came out recently.
    Actress can’t be Meryl Streep – she was nominated for another movie that year, and I can’t see her being bitter about an award since she won so many. So…

    IMO the movie looks cringey for me. As for talent – eh.. obviously Lady Gaga is the better singer by far, but Madonna also has an impressive career and I don’t think it’s that fair to compare them

    Gaga is more talented and versatile. She’s shown that she can actually sing and dance live. She’s an Oscar nominated songwriter and worked HARD on this new movie. She wrote the music and did a great job acting.. can’t hate on that

      Barbra has two Oscars. This is about Madonna in Evita.

      I can see why Madonna would feel threatened because Gaga’s basically taking the baton that Madonna created & she’s running with it. But that’s how it is when you make a career out of trend setting. Kids aren’t going to to look an old person for new trends.

      Barbra already had a Best Lead Actress award, and won for Composing a song for A Star Is Born. This has to be Madonna in Evita.
