[Blind Gossip] In a recent performance, Beyonce changed the lyrics of her song to comment on the race of a woman (or one of the women) with whom Jay Z had an affair.
The lyrics to her song Resentment include:
I’ll always remember feeling like I was no good
Like I couldn’t do it for you like YOUR MISTRESS could
And it’s all because you lied
Beyonce changed the lyrics to:
I’ll always remember feeling like I was no good
Like I couldn’t do it for you like THAT WHITE B*TCH could
And it’s all because you lied
This confirms that Jay Z did have at least one affair, and that the woman was white. Since everyone they hang out with is famous, we would not be surprised if this woman is well-known.
Perhaps Beyonce will drop another hint soon. Anything to sell tour tickets!

White Mistress:
[Optional] Is Beyonce’s comment racist? If a white singer referred to her white husband’s mistress as “that black b*tch”, would that be considered racist? Please keep your comment civil.

If a white singer referred to her husband’s mistress as “that black bitch” I wouldn’t be offended because she is angry. I’m black. It’s human nature to attack someone on basis of difference bc it’s the easiest target.
montebell says
BG, I agree. Anything to sell tickets. I believe these 2 are in a marriage of convenience and will fake anything to stay on top. She has a large following, but all her shenanigans just turn me right off. He is hanging with her for now, but how popular is he on his own? Bah, go away.
Marybel says
The Carters are blatantly racist. And Bey is the Queen of something…cultural appropriation. Could not care less about them.

I wouldn’t consider it racist because it’s coming from betrayal from an individual for a very personal reason that doesn’t include all females of that race.

I am a big fan of Bey. Yes, it is definitely tasteless and racist. Though I feel Bey can get away with that. If Taylor Swift did the same in reverse the media and many non-fans would protest. Instead this is almost celebrated as a clue to the unknown mistress. Glad you asked he question.
spookie says
I don’t know who this other woman is (aside from possibly “Becky with the good hair” – Becky being a white girl name trope), but I don’t think it’s a racist comment.
Pinkieswear says
It seems like it should be racist either way.
Also, why is she calling the other woman a mean name? Her husband betrayed her. He’s the one who made vows and broke them and her trust.
alinaa says
I’m not offended by it, but there’d be hell if it was the other way around.
Parade says
Well heck, these two have been using the “affair” angle for two years and getting loads of publicity because of it. There have been fights, an album, twins, alleged sex tapes, whew. I really don’t care who these folks sleep with or don’t sleep with but they’re a little old for this silliness.

White Mistress: Pick a Kardashian, any Kardashian
Optional: of course it’s racist. It’s written as a put down against someone of a different race, which is odd since she looks to have a goodly amount of that race in her, so someone in the family must have loved white people. And yes, of course if a white person said the same thing it would be considered racist.
MartyMia says
I am black and yes it does sound racist because all hell would break loose and it would make headlines for other reasons if it were the other way around. As an entertainer you’d think she’d realize this may offend some of her fanbase but they probably don’t care either way. i love beyonce as a performer btw but lately (since lemonade) I’ve liked her performances less and less as they are slow and boring. If ticket sales are declining, maybe I’m not the only one?
Carigirl says
Not sure who she is…
Yes it is racist. She’s bringing race into the situation, so it’s a, racist statement.
annabelle77 says
Gwyneth Paltrow. And yes, it’s racist, and would be considered racist if reversed and said by a white wife about a black mistress. Instead of attacking the mistress, she should be holding her husband accountable. The women will always be out there. He’s the problem.

Joy0302 says
I’m not sure who the mistress was maybe Rita Ora or Gwenyth but to me there is no way that I would stay in a relationship where I had to keep reliving such a scandal. She has more than enough resources to live on her own. And yes I do believe it is in poor taste to call someone out my their race. The fact that she was a bitch stands on its own. The race is neither here nor there!
pflower says
Racist beyonce, instigating racial divide and hatred. This is the woman that people love to call their Queen.
Vampira says
No, she’s not a racist (!). And he’s had plenty of affairs with black women, too.

No she isn’t racist. She was just confirming what we already knew and basically saying no it wasn’t Rachel. White people have referred to black People as worse and still do till this day so no
Grande Queso says
I think it’s Goop.
Ummm you think? Of course it would be racist. And I hate to break it to you Bey… but there are PLENTY of black, brown, yellow, green, white women who have slept with JayZ while married to you. Hell, he has like two illegitimate sons out there!! Ones that she knows about, so get out of here with her nonsense. But when nothing else works to sell tickets, race is the card she likes to pull.

Wasn’t it Gwyneth Paltrow?? Or that RAchel Roy. I mean not racist per se..but she could’ve just called her the Bword and left it at that. I think she mentioned the race though because she wants her fans to find out who it is, lol.
truthseeker007 says
Thank you got asking the optional
question. Yes, Beyonce’s comment is racist.
Jessie A says
This might be Rita Ora, I am not sure. About Beyoncé’s lyrics, I am a black woman and I do think that it’s racist because if a white singer said a black bi*ch, the whole internet would go crazy. It’s like me saying for example that “Indian bi*ch”. That’s not a very nice comment in the first place. Because she is Beyoncé, she can never do anything wrong.
Lindylou says
Yes. Her comment is racist.
nylahou says
White Mistress: Gwyneth Paltrow
I don’t think it’s racist because the feelings are deeper and more layered than just a reaction to skin color.
jooolie says
Rita Ora
yes it is. wasn’t there a girl that was expelled from college for referring to her bf’s new gf that way? i am Asian and would never put a race/color before an insult. But I also don’t really like the B word anyway.

Gwyneth? Wasn’t there a rumor a while back?

Optional: do i think it’s racist of her? Well, if it were the other way around, we all know how that would be received (not well at all)
It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out beyonce doesn’t care for white people at all (because she’s racist)
WorkHardBeNice says
Yeah, it’s racist(fits the definition of racism).
And yeah, Gwyneth Patrow is prolly a b*tch.
FoofiUnicorn says
I think it’s Rita Ora. She was supposed to be the next big thing and now ??♀️
Dunno about the race element. She should have just said the woman’s name and been done with it.
Also Resentment was a song that Victoria Beckham did originally. Must be meant for women with sly husbands…
irishiis49 says
I so want this to be Kim Kardashian…yes a white saying “bb” would be considered racist…double standard…
javelina says
Gwyneth Paltrow
I can see how it could be perceived as racist, but it shouldn’t because it’s just the description of a person’s appearance.
Guesswho2 says
Going to say Rachel Roy as the mistress, but I think that’s known at this point.
I personally find it racist. I always thought the “Becky with the good hair” comments are slightly racist too.
graceviewz says
How is she racist? White is an adjective. She was simply describing her race. Now if she said cracker or any derogatory epithet that would be different.Yes she called her a bitch but has nothing to do with racism. If you sleep with a married man you are more than likely a bitch.
Flanky says
So, if the situation were a white woman referring to a black woman as a black bitc% you wouldn’t see it as a problem?
thelasthigh says
it’s not racist. “white” has no societal negative connotation.
Flanky says
I hope you’re joking. In case you haven’t noticed over the last several years (actually much longer than that) whenever you see the term ” whiteness” used, it is always a negative connotation… Always.
Blackness though, always a good one. Been that way for well over 20+ years.
Maximus says
Eyeroll to her long since tired act

Yes. Whatever it takes to get people talking about her… annoying. But people seem to eat it up.

johnny19 says
If this were a white singer singing about a “black b*#@h” her career would be over.
KCeagle says
Rachael Roy?
Becky with the good hair.. lol. I’m mixed with black and white. Yeah.. this is kind of a reverse racist comment. A one sided barb that a white person would be vilified to say about a POC. Maybe this could chalked up to a “reparation” of slavery. ?
Baileygirl says
No idea on the mistress but yes, if this were a white singer calling a mistress that “black bitch” this would be seen as racist. When one person of one race is dissing a member of another race then that is racist based on the defacto definition of racist….hating someone on the basis of their race only.
carriebradshaw says
Goop?
optional: for me skin colour is fature like hair or eyescolour, so no.
totskie says
Jay has cheated with so many women of all colors, but maybe Beyonce is talking about Gwyneth Paltrow?
bec215d says
Not sure who she is, but there are double standards in life in general – gender, racial, ethnic, religious, which is why I assume the recorded version *doesn’t* use the word white – she knows that. However, IMO the nuance she’s giving it by adding the word ‘white’ touches on a discussion about black men getting with white women – a nuance that would be lost if the discussion turned to “reverse racism”. So in this context, it’s invoking a very specific issue in her community, and I’m ok…
nylahou says
This. I agree that the nuance may be missed because this usage refers to more than a white person’s skin color. There is a history of promoting European features and beauty, and degrading African features and beauty. It’s impossible to explain in a comment, but the emotion from using the word is not from a societally-trained desire to oppress another person based on race; but rather a reaction to being involuntarily placed in an inferior position because of race.
juliettegrantham says
YES. Both of you have expressed exactly what I think.
itstarapagain says
The irony is that Beyonce has done everything other than painting herself permanently to look white. Bleached blonde hair or weaves, gradual skin lightening, caucasion facial features, the perfect lily white veneers etc…
Fortero says
Yeah, her nose job speaks volumes about her need being popular among all the races.
Mills007 says
sooooo agree with it all,
But ‘itstarapagain’ don’t forget that she needs to reach all kinds off fans, we all know how much power all those record people have in telling stars how to look that’s not just to be white but just being,.. uh well i would use the word “fluid” for this..
That white or black bitch thing needs to go i agree, but what she means is about that specific issue in the black community, also that she hangs on to her marriage is something to praise in a way….
Vanstack says
Gwyneth. She was tight with them for awhile but hasn’t been pictured with them since.
Optional- Absolutely racist and it would be all over the evening news if a similar comment would be made by another race.
pawpaw says
Agreed-it would be all over the news if it were reversed. I’m so tired of this!
I Am PunkA says
It’s descriptive in this case. And does describe race but not to belittle. So not racist in that context.
Paltrow.
TNSunny says
I’m sorry but it doesn’t confirm anything beyond the fact that these two will do anything to sell concert tickets. Creating a fake controversy including race baiting isn’t beyond Beyonce and Jay Z.
White Mistress: none Of course it’s racist no matter who’s doing the calling.
DuncanCh says
I don’t know who the mistress is but bringing race into it was totally unnecessary. Saying “that black bitch” would have been met with outrage if a white musician said it in the same scenario so Beyonce saying “that white bitch” should be met with the same response.
I really don’t think the woman’s skin color had anything to do with Jay Z deciding she was the woman to have an affair with so this is just a sad attempt at more publicity for her tour.
Mills007 says
Gwyneth Paltrow????? could it be, that?? always had a feeling about that….
ah we will never know, caus the keep their dirty laundry in house, even though it seems the share it….
they keep SOME peeps wanting more…… it’s just a PR stunt…
wendybar says
Gweneth…..I remember her hanging with the couple a while ago…and YES it is racist, but that is typical today. Some animals are more equal than others.
iamnumber21 says
GOOP??
they used to be so close.
Eviljuju says
No idea at all.
Yeah, it’s racist.
Sharper_Teeth says
Well isn’t a “Becky” a white girl?
I scrunched my nose at “white b*tch” but I don’t know. I don’t think we should be policing what people say as much as we do. It’s her expression, and she wasn’t inciting violence. I don’t know!
smoolieloo says
Gwyneth Paltrow.
Beyonce’s Comment is tired. The sooner the Carter’s stop making money off of Jay Z’s infedelity the better.
aaaSeeK says
I personally don’t see how it’s racist to point out someone’s race, but if you think it’s racist to call someone “that black b*tch,” then that absolutely works both ways.
aaajck says
When you attach someone’s race to ‘bitch’ that’s a two-fer insult; it amplifies the ‘bitch’. Like, being a bitch is bad, but the color of your skin makes it worse.
Good rule of thumb; if you don’t want anyone to call you pink or purple bitch, don’t do it yourself.
ravenglass says
Kate Hudson
I hate when celebs put all their personal sh*t out there. He cheated. We know it. You’ve decided to stay with him. GET OVER IT!!!
DeveReaux says
Not sure of the white mistress, but if she did change her lyrics like that it is racist. If a white woman said black b*tch it would not be cool at all so Beyonce is not to be given some kind of pass for it. Has if it matters what race the mistress is, he cheated that is the issue.
JustaGuess123 says
Amen
StephK2018 says
White Mistress: Claudia Scheelen, Casey Cohen, or Rachel Roy (I think her)
[Optional] Is Beyonce’s comment racist? I think that was a racisit statement personally. Sounded more bitter than anything. Honestly why would Jay Z cheat on her is beyond me though.
scumby says
and here comes the double standard. If a white singer said “black bitch”
marykatez says
Gwyneth Paltrow is the mistress. I don’t consider it racist because I’m not a snowflake, but of course the left would be all up in arms over a “black b!tch” line. Maybe they should pay more attention to the lyrics of their own music…rap is so misogynistic.
commonsense says
Too many women it could possibly be. He’s cheated on her with black women as well, but not sure if you can call it cheating when you share females, but I digress.
I’ll say Gwyneth Paltrow
If I’m cheated on, I’d call her and him every name in the book.
KellyNotRipa says
I think that absolutely if a white singer said it it would be very much in the news right now with people very angry. That singer would have to apologize and also probably do a few good acts before people thought of supporting her again.
gemini1993 says
kim k
no reverse racism doesn’t exist
feelouise says
Of course it’s a racist, referring to someone’s colour to insult them is not okay, no matter what the circumstances. I would feel massively offended if someone called me a ‘white bitch’
cassadaga says
Maybe Rita Ora?
As for the comment, yeah I think it’s racist. I know racism refers to systematic oppression and that’s not the case here but I feel racism should encompass situations where someone, regardless of colour, is denigrated because of their skin colour.
jj the great says
Wait a minute… Rita Ora is white?! I don’t believe that. ::Googles:: Ok apparently one of her parents is a quarter black, making Rita only an 8th, and she considers herself Albanian as a race (which I didn’t even know was a race until just now). Hm, anyway, apparently she is kosovan albanian. Does that still count as white? IDK. lol I know she’s very fair, but her features always seemed more African to me; I always figured she was biracial, but that her black parent was fair. Live & learn…
jj the great says
(BTW I don’t care what race she is and I think she’s very pretty; I was just surprised to see her described as white bc I just never thought of her that way for whatever reason. I guess really just because of her facial features & hairstyles/wigs more than any other reason though, so what do I know lol)
