When a celebrity gets into trouble lately, sending them to rehab seems to be a default action to get them out of the spotlight and to make them look sincere in their contrition and their desire to change.

Unfortunately, it often has little to do with the actual problem.

Harvey Weinstein is a criminal who assaulted dozens of women. Does anyone really believe that a couple of weeks in rehab will fix him right up and excuse his disgusting behavior? Sex addiction. Yeah… that’s it! That’s the problem! Let’s send him to rehab!

This film actor’s PR team is failing him miserably. Stupid statements to excuse his bad behavior, conflating one issue with another, making the accusations about him rather than his victims.

What a disaster. So now they are trying to convince him to go to rehab for alcohol. Alcohol. Yeah… that’s it! That’s the problem! Let’s send you to rehab!

The only thing is… our actor doesn’t want to go!

Because then he would have to stop drinking!

And our actor LOVES to go out drinking!

In honor of this almost Shakespearean battle, we have written a play. Here is the opening scene, which takes place in a publicist’s office in 1599 A.D. :

Pedophile Kevin Spacey has just announced that he is going to “seek treatment” for an undisclosed affliction.

Blind Gossip told you that the rehab thing was coming! We just didn’t know which problem they were going to name, because Kevin Spacey does not want to give up drinking.

As it turns out… they didn’t name any problem! Just generic “treatment” for a malady to be named at a later date. Whatever.

Kevin Spacey to Seek Treatment as Sexual Accusations Grow

The publicist for Kevin Spacey has announced that the Oscar-winning actor is seeking treatment, as reports emerged that the London theater where he was the longtime artistic director turned a blind eye to allegations of sexual misconduct.

More men have come forward accusing Mr. Spacey of behaving inappropriately toward them. This week, the actor Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual misconduct years ago, when Mr. Rapp was 14.

Many of the accusations regarding Mr. Spacey involve behavior that would have taken place when he was artistic director of the Old Vic theater in London, a position he held for 11 years, until 2015.

In a statement provided to The New York Times on Wednesday, Mr. Spacey’s publicist said: “Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment. No other information is available at this time.”

The institution released a statement saying it was “deeply dismayed” by the allegations, adding that it had set up an email address for anyone who has worked there to make a confidential complaint about inappropriate behavior by Mr. Spacey or anyone else.

Oh, please! The “deeply dismayed” Old Vic knew about Spacey’s behavior for years. Pretending that they are now oh-so-concerned about the victims is completely disingenuous. This is like The Weinstein Company saying that they were shocked – shocked! – to learn that Harvey Weinstein was molesting women.

You know that the whole “seek treatment” ruse is to simply get Kevin Spacey out of the white hot spotlight and to make people feel sorry for him, don’t you?

The thinking is that if Spacey seeks treatment, he looks like he is acting responsibly and fixing his [insert name of problem here].

And, of course, the problem-to-be-named-at-a-later-date will not be his fault! So they need to start blame sifting.

Spacey said that he was drunk when he molested Anthony Rapp. So the “blame it on the a a a a a alcohol” excuse was the first to be put into play.

“I choose now to live as a gay man” was a lame attempt to bury the child molestation in a coming out statement. Or was it an attempt to conflate being gay with being a child molester? Cringe worthy, either way.

And did you read that wild “Kevin is troubled because our Dad was a Nazi child rapist” story that Spacey’s brother told the day after the accusations hit? It looks like Spacey’s trying to set himself for a pity party AND a criminal defense.

It’s not going to stop accusers from coming forward, though.

After Anthony Rapp’s allegation, Spacey released a statement in which he claimed not to remember the incident in question and also came out as a gay man.

Since then, others have come forward with further allegations against Spacey, including the filmmaker Tony Montana, who said that Spacey groped him in public in 2003, and the actor Roberto Cavazos, who said he witnessed Spacey court and inappropriately touch younger male actors at the Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey was the artistic director from 2004 to 2015.

The most disturbing is a fourth accuser who just came forward today.

Kevin Spacey first approached the 12-year-old boy at an acting class.

They began a “consensual” relationship when the boy turned 14. The relationship ended when Spacey tried to an*lly r*pe him.

He first met Spacey in 1981, when the actor was a guest teacher at a weekend acting class he took in Westchester County; he was then a 12-year-old student. Spacey was 22 and working in the New York theater scene. They met again by chance in line at Shakespeare in the Park in 1983, when the student was 14 years old; Spacey had made his Broadway debut in Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts the year prior. After that meeting, he says, Spacey gave him his phone number, and the two began a sexual relationship.

So, in case you thought that Spacey’s climbing on top of little Anthony Rapp when Rapp was only 14 must have been an anomaly or a drunk mistake, this latest story should set you straight.

Kevin Spacey is actually a pedophile who likes having sex with little boys.

Yes, a little time in rehab or treatment or counseling or a luxury resort should clear that right up. Just like it did for Harvey Weinstein.

Kevin Spacey, 58, has checked himself into a rehab center for his sex addiction – the same rehab center where Harvey Weinstein, 65, is currently getting treatment! As RadarOline.com has learned, the sleazy actor got admitted into the $36,000-a-month Arizona facility after a string of men came forward claiming he had sexually harassed them in the past.

The clinic, called The Meadows, prides itself on being the best rehab center for sex addiction. Its 45-day treatment called the “Gentle Path” reportedly includes counseling and expressive arts therapy. The clinic also treats drug and alcohol addiction, and was previously home to Hollywood icons Tiger Woods, Elle Macpherson, Kate Moss and Selena Gomez.

Ahhh, the “gentle path” with “expressive arts therapy.” How nice that Weinstein and Spacey get to be treated in such a humane and gentle fashion after the terror they caused to their victims!

Selena Gomez was at The Meadows in 2014. Although the facility treats specializes in “sex addiction, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse,” her team is still adamant that she was not there for any of those reasons. She lasted two weeks.

“Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse,” a rep for Gomez said, adding that her rehab stay was not connected to issues with drugs or alcohol.

Harvey Weinstein was also at The Meadows. He checked out after one week.

Treatment focused on “dealing with his anger, his attitude toward others, boundary work and the beginnings of work on empathy,” the treating psychologist said. “He showed up for all meetings and was fully engaged.”

My, celebrities sure know how to fix themselves quickly!

The Meadows Sex Addiction program is 45 days long. Let’s see how fast Spacey gets “cured.”

    Much of this blind points to Kevin Spacey, who seriously misfired when he attempted to conflate a statement regarding the accusation of his assault of a 14 YO with coming out of the closet. Nice try.

    I’ve heard stories about his predatory ways vis-a-vis Broadway, where it’s legendary, for years. He should shut up and hope it blows over. It’s not the esteemable thing to do, but esteem and fame don’t go hand-in-hand anymore.

    He will not go to rehab but will hire a “sobriety coach” to rehab at home. It would a great acting gig for him to stop drinking in a genuine rehab facility, but he will go halfway with this and pretend he is rehabbing from alcohol at home.

    Tbh the worst thing Kevin Spacey could have done was apologize. Obviously he wouldn’t have been able to ignore this forever but his choosing to come out in that very moment was such a calculated move, and now he looks ridiculous. And acknowledging it at the same time? Very messed up.

    ALSO, I gotta comment that having Spacey go to rehab really cheapens the act and exposes how when stars struggle, they just go there for good PR and not to better themselves.

    What should he do? Go to rehab, as it sounds like he does need it and STAY SOBER. Start working on his issues with a therapist and accept responsibility and legal repercussions for the harm he has (allegedly) done to others. Or continue to live in his sickness and be charged with (alleged) crimes.

    Sorta threw me at first when you mentioned a film actor. Spacey is both TV and film, but it’s definitely him.

    Former Artistic Director at London’s Old Vic, home to many Shakespeare performances.

    I’m still waiting to see the breadth and depth of his transgressions, but if Rapp is pissed off now, wait till he finds out Spacey is getting away with a slap on the wrist and 4 weeks of rehab.

    Nope, this situation warrants something much more severe and appropriate…

    This is so obviously Kevin Spacey it’s not a BI. Rumors swirled he was forced to go to the U.K. because of his behavior in the states. Wonder if they will force him out at the Old Vic? He’s always been a weird guy so who knows if he even cares but I don’t think he’s going to bother with PR rehab.

    That “explanation” was beyond tragic. Who ever crafted his response should be forever banned from PR. There is a segment of PR called “Crisis Mgmt” – even someone like me, who has been in PR for 20yrs, defers to.

    He shouldn’t go to rehab. Unless more of his pool party bois come out.

      Right? I literally wrote on Facebook “Who is this man’s publicist? A park bench?” Like that was the WORST. Coming out in the same breath as if being gay has something to do with being a child molestor? Or attempted child rapist? Gross. I’ve been pissed off by many people in the public eye but never so much as with this: I seriously will never watch any new movie or tv show with him. Anyone who gives him work after this is appalling too.

      I actually really liked the PR response. I don’t want spacey’s crimes to be conveniently and cleverly covered up by awesome PR. I want someone to dig him in deeper, and reveal what he’s really like! He’s obviously got a huge ego and a loss of sense of reality to think that statement was worth even posting publicly. I love it. He deserves crappy PR, and I’d like to think the PR person did it on purpose. Spacey doesn’t deserve anyone defending him in any way, shape or form.
